I have been a bunch of times and the food is always overpriced and mediocre even gross!

I swear, every time I come here, there is an issue. With this last experience, my food, the pulled pork panini was pretty good. However, my boyfriend was suffering from low blood pressure and he needed food. They brought his eggs and they were over easy (runny) and he had ordered over-hard. The waitress went to get new eggs and they came out "over-easy" again. Its pretty sad that the cook doesn't know how to cook an egg and it's pretty sad that the waitress didn't realize that the eggs were over easy for the second time. Not impressed. Service was weak. Our waitress made us wait extraordinary lengths of time. And it wasn't even busy. I only had 2 cups of coffee the whole time I was there. She didn't visit our table but once to check on us, and then took forever to return with coffee. The food was not good. My father's link sausage was overcooked and was dry and tough. I'm giving this restaurant 2 stars only because the woman that answered the phone was helpful and very kind. I ordered take out for my family. We were regulars here a few years back and I would have given it 5 stars. I'm not sure what happened but the food has gone downhill. I always get a sandwich on gluten free toast. They did not have gluten free toast and I was told my only gluten free option was pizza. I had it previously and it was good so I opted for that. Well, it is not good. It looked amazing when I opened the box but upon picking up a piece of the pie, it crumbled. I am now eating pizza with a spoon. I don't even know how they got it to stay together enough to get it into a box. I cannot believe they served this. read more

The food is pretty basic, about what you would expect. Our waitress was really rude when he asked her to heat up our soup as it was barely warm and it was 25° outside. We came here after a retreat after very high recommendations from friends about their breakfast. I had a small pizza (sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, peppers and onions), wedding soup, and string beans as sides. I tasted the cheesecake and fries of the friend next to me. I was so impressed by the portions and HIGH quality of food. All of my food was PIPING HOT and we were a table of 5. Our waitress was a PRO, super efficient, so knowledgeable of the menu and EXTREMELY accommodating. Food was good service was slow. But frustrated that they charge a addtional 4% fee debit cards. I do understand they can do this with credit cards but they should not be doing this on debit cards as it is a law. However, they said they can not do anything as they can only do cash or credit card at checkout and debit cards in their system does not count as cash. Ate here Sunday September 1. We ordered open face turkey sandwich, pizza, and baked ziti. The portions were ok and tasted good. Our waitress (tall lady maybe in her 40's) seemed like she wasn't in the best mood. She walked away as we were still ordering our drinks and forgot our bread with the ziti. We didn't want to ask her for anything more. The Meal was fine, but I'd rather go somewhere where the staff is nice. We also, waited awhile at the register to pay our bill. We're visiting my daughter and her husband, who live in Dalton, PA, and they suggested getting dinner at Scarfallato's in Honesdale. The dishes looked good, and the quantity was generous. I had haddock over rice, and a restaurant twice as expensive couldn't have done better. The fish was tender, very moist, and well seasoned. The rice was flavored with a rich broth that complemented the fish. The broccoli was just right: good quality, steamed leaving a touch of firmness rather than on the verge of mushy. Untypically, I ate more slowly so I could savor it all longer. The waitress was courteous and prompt. She gave us all the attention we needed even though the place was getting busy after a nighttime parade. If this quality is typical, I can see why the place has expanded beyond typical diner proportions. read more

After we were done at the community event on Main Street we started walking and this was the second place we looked at. They serve Italian food, american and breakfast all day. The guys decided on the smoke house pizza it had bbq sauce, onion rings, bacon, pepperoni and sausage. I didn't try it but they said it was good. I was leaning more toward breakfast but our awesome waitress Jennifer said since I haven't been there before to try the grilled chicken flatbread, it's her favorite. It had chicken, onions, olive oil, garlic, basil and balsamic and tomatoes. I had her hold the tomatoes since I can't eat them anymore. It was definitely delicious. There were 4 pieces and now I have some for breakfast. For dessert we all shared a cannoli. It was good and it was perfect size for the three of us to share. I ordered the spaghetti with a red clam sauce. It was really good, a lot of oil tho, so make sure to have a bathroom nearby after eating. It have with a soup or salad, so I decided to have a caesar salad, and some bread. My girlfriend order the Stromboli. It was the most normal Stromboli ever. It was not bad, but it wasn't good either. No flavor at all, neither of us would order it again. The place was nice and clean. There was seating available inside and "outside". We got seated relatively fast taking into account the amount of people that got there at the same as us. The only thing that I didn't like, was that there was only 1 free refill for the soda. I don't know the margins, but I don't think it'll get that much more expensive to just offer unlimited refills. Well, the pizza wasn't that special except for the fact it had a good blend of toppings. I wasn't a fan of the sauce and the Sicilian was dry and bread-y. I should have went for the breakfast pizza. Came here for lunch and sat on the right of the restaurant. It was sooo cold! Another table next to me complained and said they would turn the heat on. Anyways, to the food. Appetizers - mozzarella sticks and wings. Average. Nothing crazy but I also was not bummed about the taste. Lobster bisque was okay. Glad it was served right away to keep me warm. Baked ziti pizza was yummy. If you do come and eat here order their pizzas. Lastly their turkey dinner plate. We ordered a side of broccoli for the vegetable. It was just steamed broccoli not sautéed so keep that in mind when ordering. The sweet potatoes had a weird taste to them and we told our waitress who was kind enough to give us an alternative even though I really would have enjoyed the sweet potatoes. Coffee was okay. They do provide you with regular sugar and half and half packets. Overall, if I were to come in to eat again I would just order their pizza and appetizers. Went there for breakfast this morning and it was mediocre. went up quality went down. Something that I feel should not happen in a very small town. After conducting my business in town I stopped by the restaurant to have lunch, which would consist of a cheeseburger and a beer. The surprise came when my cheeseburger was on a triangular hamburger bun! I soon found out that in fact, it was delicious. We stopped in here during the governors shut down. We realized they were open because they have a porch that has windows and space heaters. It was nice just to be out to eat during this crazy time. Glad to see they had a fifty person max and gave out buzzers so you could sit in your car. Service was great and food was diner food. The fried chicken was crispy and not dry and the pizza was good. Dont let the name or look fool you - Its a diner. When I judged the book by the cover I assumed it was an Italian spot. Well, pleasant surprise as I walked in for breakfast. Super friendly staff, super clean. The outdoor heated dining room is awesome! You can watch the trains rolling as you chow down. I had a great experience here and would certainly go back! The Diner is a typical jewel from the 50s-60s with booth and jukeboxes on the wall. A long counter with the revolving chairs. Love these gems of the past. The Cream of Asparagus was delicious. Thin and creamy with chunks of the green spear. It came with a package of oyster crackers. I ordered a Cheeseburger Medium-Well; it comes with Cole Slaw & Pickles. The bread, a triangular bun, made in house. It was a big bun. The burger was not greasy, actually very dry, it was over cooked. Cole Slaw was crisp and nice. Service was attentive and friendly.
