Just handed me my food, messed up my sandwich and expect a tip. Get real...
    Larry S.

Haven't been here in a while and I remember why now. Sandwich seemed a little different, not as flavorful. They only gave me one type of salami. Just ham and one salami type on the original. By the time I got to the other half the bread was like a wet sponge. Had the nerve to have a tip jar sitting drive thru shelf! Emp mumbled something about it but I ignored him. Expected a tip and gave me an incomplete sandwich. This tip culture is getting out of hand. If you can, avoid this one until you get to another. I wish I had cause I would've past at least three others. Trifling company and employees with substandard food and service. Lord I miss ZAPPO'S!

We always split a large original with lite on mustard. Tastes as good as it did back in the eighties.

Maybe this is because--or the reason why--Detroit has so many problems. Staff is very good. Efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly. But not annoyingly friendly. The interior is clean and has good table configurations. I can't think of anything other than the price of things that I'd change. The prices are reasonable too. So there's nothing I would change. Then again, I don't think I have the personality, aptitude, or inclination to rule a pizza joint franchise. I assume it's a franchise. IDK. This is the last sentence of this review.

Excellent Detroit-style pizza. The bar pie is just OK…read more I've been here several times, and it shocked me when I realized I hadn't put in a review after a recent check-in. The fact that I'm a repeat customer (and a pizza snob) pretty much says it all. Still, here are a few facts about this location. - Service and atmosphere are nice. - (Craft) beer selection is not the greatest, but that's not a deal-breaker. - Both times I've had the bar pie, the crust was floppy. The slices folded over like a damp dishrag. A true bar pie is supposed to have an exceptionally thin, cracker-like crust. Not happening here. But that's no biggie, because this place is called Via 313, with the 313 representing the iconic Detroit area code. And the bar pie was not invented in Detroit. As for the Detroit-style pizza here? It's spectacular and pretty much checks all the boxes. - The crust is thick, light and airy with wonderfully crispy caramelized edges. This is accomplished using blue steel (square) pans -- just like the inventor of this pizza style did. - The sauce is also thick, slightly sweet and punchy with Italian seasoning. Definitely reminiscent of the stuff you find in the Motor City. - An authentic Detroit-style pizza includes Wisconsin brick cheese, which is similar to Monterey Jack. I'm not sure what cheese they use here, but it's rich, with a nice stretch. - The pepperoni here is good, but it didn't seem to be a legit cup-and-char variety ... at least not on my visits. Cup-and-char is essential when it comes to this style. Though the pepperoni cupped, there was nary a char. - Finally, these folks reverse-layer the pizza properly. Bottom line: Steer clear of the bar pie, unless you like floppy crust. Instead, go for the Detroit-style, and you'll be in for a real treat.

It's truly such a good spot for pizza and pasta and reminds of me of Jupiter & Pizza Waffles in Sugar Land in terms of atmosphere and vibe. They have plenty of unique options for pizza which I really look forward to trying them all. They also have some other unique menu items too. If I lived closer here, I'd definitely be visiting more often. We had the pickle pizza with pepperoni added on it as well as the totally baked Bolognese. Everything comes out hot and fresh, and the pizza is always as good as I remember it. I had the Bolognese for the first time this visit and it was delicious. A little on the heavy side but it's meaty and creamy with the cheese. Their house-made ranch is something else, I'm more of a bleu cheese guy but my girlfriend likes ranch better so we got that but I gotta say that ranch is reallyyyy good so I'd recommend trying that with your pizza too. Service is fast, you can choose to sit anywhere when you walk in. They get to you fairly quickly. I forget everything else I had in the past, but the service and food never disappoint!

I was in Houston for work two nights ago and arrived at the Hampton Suites around 9:30 pm. Hungry…read morefrom a long flight, I headed straight to the hotel bar and asked if they are still serving food. Fortunately, the bartender said yes and handed me a fairly generic menu that included a few pizzas. I figured pizza was easy to eat in my room and gambled on a pepperoni/olive to go. It was delivered to the bar within 20 minutes and I saw that the box indicated it was Space City Pizza (they do not have these in the SF Bay Area so I was not familiar). I figured it was going to be "hotel pizza" (which is generally nasty; a last resort for weary travelers). I paid and headed to my room stat to get a slice down my gullet before unpacking and all that. Then WOW - it was an absolutely delicious pizza.. I mean, up there with anything from the Bay Area, Chicago, NYC... I could not believe it. Hotel pizza??? So I hit up Yelp and saw that they are near the hotel and have an affinity to service their pies to guests via the bar/restaurant. Instead of unpacking, I opted to finish my dinner (half was ample) because it was so hot and tasty. I don't normally save food on the road - since I'm usually out and about with clients and plenty of meals on the company card - but I had to save this in the mini-fridge. This morning I was headed out to the airport and literally packed the remaining slices in a clean, plastic dry cleaning bag and carefully put it in my backpack for the trip. I have never done this, lol. When back home I immediately popped it in the microwave and finished what was left. I mean... that is not my style! But I had to enjoy it again (it heated up fine, but never as good as fresh, of course). I know it's kind of gross to think of carrying cold pizza on a plane - but hey, it's that good. And I haven't posted on Yelp in a long while but was inspired. So there you go! I can't speak to the other items, the service or the restaurant atmosphere, but this was a damn good pizza and I highly recommend!
