My wife spoke to the manager, Ashley, on the Monday following our horrible experience. We asked her to refund us for the sandwich that wasn't included in our order, and she insisted on refunding the entire order. As for the malcontent who basically ruined our experience here, we were told that she would no longer be employed at this location because we weren't the first people who had such a negative experience with her. We intend to return to this location as we have done so many times previously, and we appreciate the manager's customer-first reaction. read more

If I could give the customer service a 0 I would. I went through the drive through at 1pm today July 5th, this was my first time here so I didn't know where everything on the menu was. The menu was also too close so it was hard to read and I was already overwhelmed with trying something new. This lady was screaming through the speaker, very rude. I told her I wanted a ham sandwich, I didn't see one on the menu and she yelled over the speaker "it's on the menu" so I proceeded to tell her I didn't see it. She asked what size I wanted and I asked what sizes are there, instead of telling me the sizes she yelled again "ITS ON OUR MENU" no help what so ever. She then said she was going to not take my service because I was having trouble reading the menu. All of my family comes to this location and have had a bad experience with this same lady! After she refused my service I went inside to see if I could get her name because that's not how you treat customers especially if it's their first time there. She refused to give me her name and proceeded to call the police on me because i "wouldn't leave". This lady obviously doesn't like her job nor does she care about giving customers a good experience this is unacceptable and me and my family won't be returning to this location until this matter is resolved. read more

I wish I could give negative stars. I've never been more disrespected by a fast food worker than the woman who works evenings here. I wouldn't return if someone gave me a gift card for this location. Our office loves our lunch runs to Schlotzsky's. The restaurant is always clean. The food is fresh. The wait is almost non-existent. And, the cashier, Albert, always greets customers with a smile. What customer service? The employees act like they hate customers. I waited 10 minutes at the counter for someone to take my order and then another 10 minutes for a to-go box. When I think of Schlotzskys I think of slow service . But this location has proved that wrong . Service here is quick and the staff are always polite . Over the years they have really changed up the menu to please everyone in your party. I can bring my whole family here and everyone can find atleast one thing they will eat. I was one of the first Schlotzsky's fans when they first came to Houston in the 70's. To this day, I still love them! But not from the location closest to me on Spencer Highway in La Porte/Deer Park. Unfortunately, this particular location skimps on the meat and additions. It used to be a sandwich that is full of meats and anything one wishes to add, plus just enough bread to hold it all! Now, and especially at this one location, it is pitifully thin meat, ALL bread, and very little of that taste that I crave. So disappointing. Kindly sent a message to the store online, and never received an answer. You have lost probably a lot more than me as a customer. read more

The customer service needs big improvement. I pulled into the drive thru and asked about the 5 dollar pizza deal on the weekends. The cashier was very short was her answers which then led to confusion. I asked for a pepperoni pizza and a california pizza. She led me to believe that the pizza I wanted would be 7 dollars but then rudely informed me that it would not be that price. I said fine, I'll take the pepperoni pizza and the full priced california pizza. The cashier then said just the california pizza and I politely said, no, a pepperoni as well. She then snipped that I only said the california pizza and rudely said that I needed to decide what I wanted as the kitchen would be closing soon. I said just the two pizzas and she immediately cut me off with the total. The rest of the transaction was curt with no thank you or anything. Haven't been here in a while and I remember why now. Sandwich seemed a little different,not as flavorful. They only gave me one type of salami. Just ham and one salami type on the original. By the time I got to the other half the bread was like a wet sponge. Had the nerve to have a tip jar sitting drive thru shelf! Emp mumbled something about it but I ignored him. Expected a tip and gave me an incomplete sandwich. This tip culture is getting out of hand. If you can, avoid this one until you get to another. I'm redoing my review to lower the raging and explain why. Old Review: Like another reviewer said there were unbused tables but one was available. You order at the counter and they bring your food. We used to eat at the old location about once every 6 months or so. I've never been excited about Schlotsky's original sandwich, but it's different and we share a deluxe. The sandwich seemed the same. New Words: During the COVID we only do takeout. I'm not high on their sandwiches but they have a drivethru so we've gone here a few times. Nothing has changed except to say, they may have the most unfriendly/unhelpful workers of any place we've been going. I don't know how to rate this place 'cause it has Cinnabons. I love Cinnabons. So it's either 2 stars for the rest or 4 based on the Cinnabons. That averages to 3. read more

I am only in Texas part time these days but I make a point to get a Schlotzsky's sandwich on a regular basis. I just love the bread and the drag toppings. Never had a bad meal at any location, and the service is generally good. In particular, at this location the store is new, the service is friendly, and the food is good. They finally opened it! Hubby's never been but I used to go years ago but hadn't been in forever. The food was good, but the service needs some work. Of course everyone still new so they have some excuse but if they don't work on it they won't get too far. A lot of the tables were dirty and a few of the people didn't seem to interested in cleaning or helping but hopefully that will change. They have a Coke Freestyle machine and crushed ice which is awesome but it only worked once when we were there. I think the place has a lot of potential if they can get the opening kinks out. I will be back to check it out and amend the review if needed. And maybe get a Cinnabon. Because Cinnabon! read more

Online it says they close at 9:30 I pulled up to get some potato soup at 8:50 lady came on with some attitude, when I ordered it she said " she already put it away since we close at 9" I said "oh online it says y'all close at 9:30" she then said "yeah it just says that but we close at 9" I understand it was close to closing but online it said 9:30 so I think being there 40 min before closing for soup isn't a crazy thing. They should change their business hours online for this location since they close 30 min before. read more

This is a drive-thru review. I've never actually been inside, but the drive-thru has been so impressive, I've been here 4 times already, and it's only been open a month or so. First of all, there's Schlotzsky's signature bread - you either love it or hate it. I happen to love it, the sponginess and elasticity reminds me of Ethiopian teff, which is a good thing - you won't drop crumbs all over while you're eating it. A plus for drive-thru diners! I always order the medium sandwich, but there are small and large versions as well. Perfect for any appetite level. I went to the menu web site for this restaurant, and discovered they have 3 different brisket sandwiches which don't appear on the menu outside. I've tried the Cuban Brisket and the Tex-Mex Brisket, and both were really good. It's chopped beef, not sliced, but if you're OK with that you'll probably like it. The brisket itself was pretty average, but the sandwiches as a whole were really nice. I do like the idea behind this, and I think it would be great if some of the mainstream Texas brisket joints looked here for a glint of creativity. The sandwich ingredients are always fresh and tasty. The speaker and microphone at the ordering station are crystal clear, which is a beef I have with a lot of drive-thrus. So I did and the guy told me he "manager voided off the missing items". However, they charged my card for everything. Horrible customer service. Not a good way to keep business. To be fair, I'm a huge fan of Schlotzsky sandwiches, especially the Original! This point is made clear if you read my other two Schlotzsky's reviews; however, I'm sad to report that my visit to this new Schlotzsky's on Bay Area Blvd. verges on "average." I tried their new Traditional Brisket hoping for something spectacular... instead, I got something "okay." The brisket sandwich was fine, nothing bad; it just doesn't taste any better than any other brisket sandwich. It helped that the original Schlotzsky bread was used, but it wasn't enough to move the bar from 3 to 4 stars. Otherwise, the new locale is fine. Schlotzsky's made the move to use a pseudo-coffeehouse interior, something that other fast food joints have been doing over the past few years. This location sports an eating bar with ample power outlets for the device-user audience. Good idea, though they should wipe it down more often. It was full of crumbs when I got here. I'll certainly return to this location again to get my all-time favorite Original sandwich... just wish their brisket made me just as excited. read more
