Best German food I've had since leaving Deutschland . Atmosphere reminded me on the restaurants we would visit when we lived there. There was even familiar music playing in the background. Staff was hopping constantly, but were attentive to my needs. Only bad thing about this place is the fact that it is in Florida and not Texas where I live. We have two German restaurants in the area. One of them has a fantastic Sunday brunch. The other is probably closed today due to drama in their kitchen. This is the good one. Drive past the other one and come here. The food is better anyway. If you decide to check out the other one, make sure to look at their Facebook first. Delicious schnitzels with a selection of sauces to choose from. I took my sister-in-law and her boyfriend here for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. There was a lunch buffet available but we chose to order off the menu. Everyone enjoyed their lunch. Large portions and very friendly staff. Definitely coming back. read more

My wife and two small children were just there for our 6 year Wedding anniversary. We lived in San Antonio, TX and were married in Fredericksburg, TX an old german city. This place the Schnitzel is equivalent to a fast food German restaurant. Ordering anything Pork or traditional you will be disappointed. The meat was pressed or formed and was definitely not a solid piece of regular pork. They were over priced as well, good luck if you go there. read more

Wunderbar! I was recently visiting family in Niceville. They are regulars at the Schnitzel Lodge and I am a known Germanophile, so naturally this was occasion for a meal here. It's a cute space, if a bit small. The female servers wear dirndls, which is amusing to me because that's basically tantamount to having a U.S. restaurant in Europe where everyone wears cowboy gear. But I digress. It was a shame that the server was rather overloaded that night, so service was very slow (still friendly, though), which was especially tough on my young nephews and niece. She even humored me when I ordered in German. At any rate, it was well worth the trip and the wait. I enjoyed a mushroom-sauced schnitzel and a lager. The portion was very generous; I only finished half and took the rest home for my brother to eat at some later date because I didn't get around to it before I left. I hear they have a brunch. It's probably best that I wasn't around to kill myself on that. read more

This restaurant has been through many owners and managers. Each time I'm there I mention that the French fries are just not German and I wish they would consider serving fried potatoes like they used to. The rest of the food is terrific. Service, selection and taste are wonderful. But PLEASE bring back the home fried potatoes. read more

The food is awesome but the manager guy is off putting. He stared at us the entire meal but never came over or said anything. When we were leaving we said thank you and good bye and he just grunted at us. Our waitress was really attentive and made sure we had anything we could have wanted. Recently tried this place for the first time for their Sunday brunch buffet. This was our first visit after the change from Helga's to the current name. The buffet was $17.50, which is comparable to what their dinner prices are per meal. I would recommend going on Sunday to get the nice variety of dishes. The workers were constantly bringing out fresh food for the buffet, so nothing got old and soggy like at some buffets. They had plain schnitzel with a few different sauces, including the always delicious jagerschnitzel sauce with mushrooms. One of our favorite items was the schnitzel crepes, which featured a small piece of schnitzel wrapped in a crepe with fresh greens and a sauce that paired very well. Went here on a Sat night and was promptly seated (5-person group) even though we didn't have reservations. Obviously, the place was busy, but after waiting for over an hour for our food my patience was wearing thin. Our server, on the other hand, was very sweet and attentive. When the food finally arrived, we were happy to see large portions with great flavors. With that said, I'm not sure it was worth the hour wait.
