Three months ago was told they ordered the part ( see review below). No calls or emails and no part. I was told they were ordering the part on a Thursday night at 5:00. I had to have my car for the next three days and asked to call me when it came in. I hate being lied to. I hate that I spent 7 hours with an appointment just for a diagnosis that I already had from my tester at home. I was so sure they were working for me I ordered door dash and waited the entire afternoon. I hate that I asked to 'check' on a warranty tho I knew it was a long shot. Once I said warranty, the service level went down and my car wasn't brought around until hour 3 of the wait. Just all around bad business- dishonest and untrustworthy. If the owner does have the part and calling me in the last 3 months was some sort of terrible bookkeeping, I'd be happy to hear an explanation and apology for the full day of waiting and the brush off on a repair I was happy to pay for. Again, the warranty inquiry was just that, and I stated I didn't think it would be in the coverage. read more

When told "we are on the phone with the warranty company"and then one asks the warranty company the status 3 hours later, there is an expectation of honesty. It is okay to be short staffed or busy. It is not best practice to tell a customer that you are speaking with or have contacted their warranty company when there is no record of such a contact. I did not expect this to be covered, but wanted to check. The warranty company checked it for me in about a 5 minute phone call. I was told a part was ordered at 5:30 on a Thursday after arriving for a 9:00 AM appointment. That was quite a wait for a diagnosis that I checked with a computer at home before coming in. As it was too late to begin repair or get the part, I was asked to return with the car in the AM. I indicated that I would return when the part came in to save time. As of 3:45 Friday there is no part and given the dishonesty of the warranty contact, I doubt it was ordered. I'm not sure how this place stays in business. read more

I thought they were trustworthy! NOT! I just found more proof on their paperwork saying I needs something done but was not told and when I went back because of engine light constantly on month after month - they knew what was wrong and sent me to Mercedes Benz! My engine was totally damaged due to schroeders incompetence! Do not go here! Far from certified Mercedes certified! ONLY take your Mercedes to the dealership! Had a check engine light come on with my Audi and wanted it looked at by a team that knows German cars. Schroeder's took the car and were able to give me a diagnosis (of course, connect to a computer and boom!), but what really impressed me was their knowledge of the Audi platform, future potential concerns (which I had already checked via Audi forums) and their ability to handle everything. Schroeder's Import Automotive was recommended to me by a family friend, and I was not disappointed. I brought my BMW 328i in because my check engine light was on, and I had a couple sensors that weren't functioning correctly. Turns out a rodent has chewed through the wiring that connected the sensors, and all of them needed to be rewired. These guys are straightforward, honest, and fair. Apparently a rare thing to find these days. I appreciate the work they did, the customer service they provided, and the conversation they had with me to outline all of my car's issues and their solutions. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THESE GUYS! When you take your car in for some type of repair or service, the biggest fear is that the dealer or the place that you have selected is going to either do bad work or bend you over in some other way (price, unknowns, infrior parts etc). Bill Schroeder (owner) worked on the alignment of my 2004 E46 M3. It was not an easy task, but I watched work tirelessly to do it right, to his satisfaction. When I lived in Texas, I took my family cars (BMW's, Mazdas, Toyota's) to Shroeder's Import. Bill is the best. Always a fair price and quality work done right. Never had to question the diagnosis and repair. When I moved out of state, I would still have Schroeder's repair anything outstanding if I drove the vehicle into town. Just today, I called Bill to get his opinion on a puzzling diagnosis that both the BMW dealership and an independent, experienced BMW mechanic can't agree on.. to see if he was familiar with the issue. I am from central Illinois and was visiting family in McKinney over a weekend when my 2006 BMW M3 began throwing warning lamps and went into limp home mode a couple times. I was able to check the codes and reset them but couldn't keep them from coming back. I was planning on returning to Illinois on Tuesday but worried about problems on the 800 mile drive so I took the car into Schroeder's Import Automotive in hopes that they could look at it. I was very pleasantly surprised that they could get my car in that day as I am used to waiting a couple of days at least for an appointment. Anyway, Kenny was very helpful and said if I left the car they would check it out for me. When he called back mid afternoon he said they were able to repeat some of the lights coming on but couldn't find any problems and suggested that I should be okay to return home the next day and keep an eye on it. The amazing thing was he didn't charge me anything since they weren't able to find anything wrong. I tried to get him to take something since they had a couple of hours in it and some test driving but he wouldn't change his mind. That is so rare in today's world. I can't speak highly enough of Schroeder's and if I lived in McKinney I would definitely be a customer.
