Dr. Jocelyn Gandelman is amazing! I've had microneedling done seven or eight times across three different countries, and her treatment was the only one that didn't hurt. Her bedside manner is also exceptional. When I felt dizzy after my blood draw, she didn't rush me at all--she gave me time to recover and even offered to let me return later. Dr. Nazarian is no longer at this practice and this is a huge drawback for me. She really was a knowledgeable and great dermatologist. I went for an appointment and signed the paperwork ahead of time. When I arrived, I had additional paperwork and if you read the fine print, it's absolutely crazy that they can share your health information and sell or use for educational purposes. You do not have a way to opt out of that. Because I wouldn't sign this, I wasn't allowed to see a doctor and was turned away. I was alright with signing basic paperwork but I didn't want my medical information and photos to be used for data or sharing purposes. Read the fine print everyone. It was very difficult to request even a hard copy to review to bring home with me. I did speak with someone I believe her name was Alexandra? She was very professional and assisted me as best as she could. It didn't change that I couldn't see the doctor when I needed medical assistance. In the past, I have gone for skin screenings here and without being notified or asked- I had a group of five students come into the room when I was laying on a table. This was feedback I provided that was upsetting and in my chart I mentioned in the past that I didn't want this without being asked first. read more

She solved my skin issues that was happening on and off for years. other doctors I've seen would keep prescribing me steroids but she truly cares long term what would happen to your skin and the follow-up was what i needed to get the issue resolved. CROOKS. AVOID As a medicare patient I pay 20% co pay but Schweiger charged me 25% for every procedure over a 2 year period. Impossible to reach customer service and after admitting to me it is an error they send the bill to a collection agency. The surgeons over book appts and have permanently scarred me as they are to busy to render appropriate care. read more

My 15-minute appointment led to over two hours of phone calls trying to reach someone in the office due to a prescription mix-up. The medical assistant failed to ask for my preferred pharmacy and sent it to the wrong one. When I notified her, she promised to cancel and update it, but the correct pharmacy didn't received the prescription because she didn't cancel it correctly. I've been unable to reach the office directly, resulting in multiple calls rerouted to customer service agents across the Midwest and New York who have tried to escalate this. They too, have not been able to get a response from the Hackensack office. Still no response, and my prescription remains unfilled. What a shame. Update: I called the pharmacy and they finally received the order, over 2 hours after I left my appointment. read more

I went to see Dr. Nazarian for the first time in 2019 for a skin rash; she was amazing. I recommended her to everyone. I went back last year for treatment of a scar that continued to get reinfected and for brittle nails. She told me there was nothing that could be done for either and was pretty dismissive. She suggested I go to a nutritionist. I went for a second opinion at - of all places - a strip mall dermatologist. I saw a nurse practitioner who 1) correctly diagnosed the star 2) gave me a quick injection and follow-up appointment, and 3) a product to help strengthen my nails. In two weeks, the scar was nearly healed. Needless to say, I don't know what changed, but I probably won't go back to Schweiger. read more

I've always had such a great experience being a patient over the years at Schweiger. This Review is specifically for Dr. Kass Sadri. I had to get a precancerous mole excised off my chest, as a woman thats a pretty vulnerable spot. When I found out I had a male doctor I was very apprehensive. I could have not felt more comfortable. Dr. Sadri told me every single step along the way. We spoke about college as he worked on me to get my mind off it and he thought I was the impressive one going to art school in Manhattan when he's the one working medical magic LOL. I went into this procedure not caring if I had a huge scar or not. I write this review a year after my procedure because I was just looking for my scar and could barely even find it, thats how good of a surgeon he is. I recently visited Schweiger Dermatology after a horrible experience with a different dermatologist downtown. I showed up early to my appointment and the ladies at the front desk were kind and welcoming. The team was accommodating and were able to get me in early. I then met Vivian Parham and was so pleased with her professionalism, knowledge and ease. It is difficult to find Doctors of color so this immediately made me feel comfortable. I have already recommend Vivian and this office to several good friends and I will be back for my follow up apt soon. read more

This place is a joke. I made an appointment for my son's rash on Zocdoc. I checked in at the office and paid my copay. Then the receptionist told me the doctor doesn't see minors. They could have told me before I came into the office or before I made my copay. I had to wait for 30 minutes for the receptionist to pay me the refund when she kept attending to other people who came in later than me. Unbelievably awful service. read more

I decided to experience for myself what certainly felt like a bag of mixed reviews (both on Zocdoc & Yelp) in hopes of finding the right doctor for my general skin concerns. Very hesitantly I decided to schedule for a consultation with Dr. Gold - and boy, do I regret this. To be perfectly frank, my 2-stars are only achieved by the pleasant attention of the receptionist that morning and the very short waiting time; after this brief interaction, everything pretty much fell into a pit of despair. The nurse practitioner who saw me first, quickly introduced herself and started asking the standard general questions in order to prepare Dr. Gold with my concerns before she came in herself. The main issue at this point, was that this nurse practitioner made it a clear point to stand so far away from where I was sitting down that it almost felt as if she was disgusted with my presence in this office - it was a very odd situation and something I've never experienced in my life before. This whole interaction lasted for about 5 minutes or so, going over general questions and the like - sadly this was the bulk of my visit to this office as Dr. Gold could only deem herself to see a patient for about 3 minutes or so. After this, Dr. Gold entered the room and asked all the same questions again (perfectly fine procedure, and many doctors certainly do the same in order to ensure all pertinent information is being collected), however - and this is a big however - she would not let me finish answer any question she was posing, quickly interrupting with another question. I never really got to answer anything fully before she started putting on her gloves and approaching my face. I had also inquired about a general examination of my face to determine if there were any treatments she would recommend - this never happened. I had inquired about discussing my skin "history" as I have really sensitive skin and a very thorough medical history with dermatologists which I would have loved to have discussed with Dr. Gold - this never came up. I had inquired and showed great interest in learning what kind of skin treatments this practice could offer (peels, facials, microdermabrasion, botox, etc.) - this never came up. After the quick repeat of questions by Dr. Gold, she quickly scrambled to get a magnifying glass of sorts to look at my face (mainly my nose area), and in less than 20 seconds or so she took gloves off, put everything away and sat down for a diagnosis. She very hastily explained what I was being prescribed and seemed incredibly annoyed at any and all my follow up questions, which I was posing to ensure I would apply the medication correctly. Honestly, I don't even know if I applied anything correctly in the 2-weeks I was instructed to use the various products. All in all, I was in and out - I kid you not! - in less than 10 minutes, including my interaction with the receptionist. Now, I don't know about ya'll, but even though I'm blessed to have what I consider amazing insurance with Aetna, I still have a co-pay that needs to get paid (a little over $60 for full disclosure) and it's highly culpable to me that for "x" amount of money that a patient is expected to pay (let alone whatever else the practice gets from our insurance companies), they only allow themselves to see a patient for about 10 minutes. Aside from this huge grievance in regards to the time spent actually seeing the doctor, I did not see any results with the medication I was prescribed. Not surprisingly, considering I only had someone look at me for seconds before spewing a list of products to get at the pharmacy. Do yourself a favor, read the lower reviews and you'll find the same common variables in regards to Dr. Gold. Steer away. read more

I've been in to see Alexandra Gold about 5 or 6 times this month for a skin condition that another dermatologist could not exactly say what it was despite being a top dermatologist whose name is well known and highly regarded. I went back into Schweiger Derm because I felt the most confident with the information and treatment ideas I had initially received. I had made my initial appointment in a rush and I will admit I was hesitant for a few reasons but within moments of my exam, I felt at ease. Alexandra is confident and smart and was very honest about my condition. I had done a fair amount of research on my own. She gave me a treatment plan and slowly but surely my nightmare condition resolved itself. Who knows how long I would have been dealing with this issue had it not been for my visit here. Everyone on the staff is so sweet and patient and kind and they made my life that much easier by recommending a pharmacist who filled my script same day and delivered to my door - what a luxury. I can't say enough kind words about everyone I've encountered at Schweiger and am truly thankful for the wonderful care I received. 10+ stars! read more

Melissa, I understand you trying to defend your practice; however, to now imply it was a miscommunication is not only weak, but insulting. Most of your "good" reviews are few and far between and suspicious at best (perhaps friends of "doctors" with one or a few reviews and mostly for mere cosmetic procedures). As I said, maybe good as a Botox shop (I wouldn't know) but most definitely not a true medical forum with a doctor that adheres to the Hippocratic Oath. She was curt, condescending and failed to address my concerns and issues; if she didn't want to be there she should not work on Friday's or maybe not practice at all. I have been going to Scweiger dermatology for about 5 years now. I was there this week for a check up. It was the first drs visit of any kind that i have had since the quarantine. They as usual, made me feel comfortable and cared for. The staff and the drs are as good as you can get. Even in a stressful time like now .with Covid 19 on everyones mind.. I feel very lucky to have found them. I have friends that say how tough it is to find caring professionals. Im in good hands here. My dr is Alexandra Gold. She is pleasant, understanding and so knowledgeable. I have skin rashes and dark spots. I sometimes feel self conscious about it. I feel very at ease discussing my issues here. The office is lovely and the front desk staff are very nice. I made an appointment through zocdoc, which alerts you that your appointment may be with an assistant acting "under the supervision" of a physician. I had an appointment with Alexandra, and there was no supervision. Normally I wouldn't really care, but she misdiagnosed me: she said two cysts on my face were actually broken blood vessels that would remain there and the only way to treat them would be with a laser, $250 per location. Well, they came to a head and healed in about a month. I'm not surprised that she misdiagnosed them since she seemed to be in a huge hurry and only glanced at them, but now I'm concerned that I need to get my annual skin cancer screen repeated since she either doesn't know what she's doing or wasn't paying attention. read more

I've been going to Alexandra Gold for a few months now and have been thrilled with how it's going! She helped adjust my Spironolactone prescription to combat my breakouts and we created a plan for a way to treat my other skin concerns (aging mostly)! Physician's Assistant Elana Litwin is excellent. She is very personable, knowledgeable, and has a professional bedside manner. Elana thoroughly answers patients' questions in a very clear way. I'm so glad I found her. My scalp and skin issues alleviated rather quickly with her specific advice and basic prescriptions (I'm very holistic so I wanted non-invasive products). I've been so impressed now I refer others including my mature mother who has been fortunate to get Elana's help resolving her dermatological issues too. I also like how clean the office is, how the medical staff is properly masked and that they've social distanced the seats for COVID safety. OK so I've seen a few of the providers at this location and had great experiences with all of them. Most recently I saw the PA Alexandra Gold. I was struggling with some stubborn acne on my chin and around my nose. Alexandra evaluated my skin and educated me that it indeed was an acne more related to rosacea. She prescribed me some mediations and explained clearly to give them at least 8 weeks trial, however, I felt like we were managing and treating my condition together. She did send my prescriptions to a mail order pharmacy, however, the pharmacy completed the prior authorization so I didn't have to wait. A day later my meds were being sent to me. Could this have been any easier? Thanks Alexandra for the thorough evaluation and ACTUALLY explaining the treatment plan to me. Update: I have been going to this location since the summer to find out what it's going on with the skin around my eyes. It has been more than 6 month and I'm still waiting to learn what is going on. I have no problem with Dr. Nazarian but the rest of the staff has this attitude and sense of greatness and that they are better than me. I am not going back. When I go there I feel belittled by the receptionist and the other professionals. They only see me for about 3 minuets and then dismiss me. I don't travel in rush hour after work to make my appointment to be treated this way that's not the way health professionals. read more

I am so grateful that Schweiger Dermatology is in my neighborhood. As someone suffering from hormonal acne, who is trying to conceive and therefore has very few options for treatment, they are a lifesaver. I went in for cortisone injections for multiple cysts on my face and neck, and they could not have been more accommodating, kind, and understanding. They also offered me some additional options for the awful acne and redness I am battling. For someone who was nearly in tears over the state of her face, they made me feel much better and it is a huge relief that I can get a same day appointment and the treatment that makes such a huge difference in my self esteem and my pain level. I went to this practice earlier this year for a minor rash due to dry skin. The experience with the doctor was fine, they prescribed a cream and the problem was gone in three days. They scheduled a follow-up visit two weeks later which lasted five minutes and then they charged me for the follow-up visit. When I questioned it at the front desk, they said it was a mistake and they would fix it. But I kept on getting a bill for that in mail and repeated letters from the billing department. After multiple calls to the office, no action was taken and now I am ultimately paying for the visit to get over this headache. I would really avoid this practice as their front office is a nightmare. Would not recommend this practice to anyone for this reason. read more
