I then asked how much the appointment will be and they told me 350.00. When I arrived to my appointment I waited for another hour and 15 minutes to be seen (mind you I just had a baby and it's hard to get away for even a 1 hr appointment- let alone 2.5 hours) Eventually Dr. markowitz walks in and looks at my nose for 1 second and says 'I can't laser that I don't know what it is! We'll have to biopsy it.' I said 'well you told me last year to just come back in the fall to laser it.' She goes, 'how can I laser it if I don't know what it is?' (I'm thinking 'okay well why did you tell me to just come back in the fall to laser it if you didn't know what it was back then?!) I said to her, 'I can't do it today because I don't have a referral so I'll have to reschedule.' I went back to the front desk and made an appointment for 2 weeks later. The front desk helped me do that and I was free to go. Today I get a call from their front desk telling me I owe them 400.00 for a consult fee and that I should pay it at my next appointment. I asked the woman on the phone why didn't anyone charge me when I was rescheduling for the biopsy and she says, 'I don't know.' I asked, 'why didn't they tell me I would be charged 400.00 on top of the 350.00 when I first made the appointment. Rita at the front desk told me that they usually 'waive the consult fees for established patients' but then she retracted and said she didn't say that when it came up a few minutes later. I went to this office for a nail problem I was having…read more I scheduled the appointment via Zocdoc which was smooth. The staff was friendly. Although I had to fill the check-in forms again because apparently they don't use the ones from Zocdoc which was kind of annoying but yeah ok whatever, I filled them. The doctor was very nice too, she explained everything she was doing clearly. So now you are curious why one star? It's because I had to pay $200 although I have insurance and no one confirmed this with me beforehand. They took samples from my nail and said that there is going to be a culture and also pathology done on the samples which I had no idea what they were so I said ok. Usually when I go a dentist or any other doctor they confirm the price with me, at least they provide an estimate of what I am going to pay. Your copayment all depends on the treatment codes they use when submitting your claim and apparently this office likes to start with the highest paying ones, which is kind of icky. I didn't like this approach, it should all be about honesty to your patients. Since people have insurance you can't use this expensive treatment codes without confirming with your patients. Now you lost one patient. My advice, don't go here. If you do, confirm what your copay is going to be after all the procedures. If they can't give you an estimate then leave because they should be able to tell.

This felt like if LaserAway was disguised as a dermatology medical clinic. Idk if it's the branding but that is the vibe I got and it feels misleading. The nurse looked like she could not care to understand anything and was following her sheet forms and flying out the door when possible to her doctor to shadow. The doctor told me to use aquaphor and hydrocolliodal bandages and buy it from the pharmacy. At least at laseraway they give you packets of these things, bandage material, aren't stingy about it and can help apply before you go. The doctor was very non-informative and didn't run any test or consider I might need antibiotics. I bought neosporin and the bandages from Amazon but this was a waste of time and a copay for me. I won't be back and I suggest they rebrand with cosmetics in mind.
