Although discussed with Alan glass at length in consultation that I'd come back to correct any issues l had with laser removal of stops on my skin - and my time to return was extended by Alan glass in consultation beyond the usual window since I was leaving the country for months - when I wanted return, not for any new skin issue, but the completion of the one discussed, I was told there would be a charge for that. Never did the desk clerk listen to what I was trying to share by phone about my conversation with Alan glass , never did they respond to it when I shared it in an email, still unanswered. However, following my original phone call explanation about returning to a rude desk clerk at the 57th st location, Christy did send me an email requesting additional money for the once promised by Alan glass "free" follow up to my laser treatment. I replied to that email re-telling my discussion regarding a later than usual follow up revisit with Glass at length, an auto reply was received stating emails are responded to by the end of the next business day. That was 2 weeks ago. No response. They have been paid in full. Treatment incomplete. No response. Now I will need to repay to a new company to complete the fully paid incomplete laser skin treatment by an alarmingly rude and dishonest practice which gets paid but did not complete this treatment, listen, bother to correct an issue, but were sure to get paid. read more

Dr. Glass and his staff are welcoming, intelligent and warm. The office is aesthetically pleasing with a mural painted by his daughter when you enter the waiting room. Beyond all that, Dr. Glass is a wonderful doctor. He has a gentle touch, and knows exactly what he is looking at and doing. I feel really lucky to have found Dr. Glass in New York City on 57th Street in 2025. He has restored my faith in the good things about going to the doctor. Very friendly practice that's super convenient for Midtown workers! The waiting area (in fact the entire practice) is quite small, but it works. Carrie is one of the nicest, funniest people around and makes going for a skin checkup a piece of cake. She allows you time to ask any questions you have (even when the waiting room is full!) and gives really good advice that I've trusted over and over again. I haven't needed to see Dr. Glass yet but caught him at the front desk one afternoon making a sarcastic joke, which I thought was hilarious. Also, front desk are so responsive! I asked for my records and they were emailed to me within a day. That's unheard of! 5 stars!! Love this place. read more

I haven't been to the dermatologist in a while, but I woke up one day with a bumpy and painful red bump on my lower back so I knew I had to act! Of course I drove myself crazy trying to figure out what could be going on and hoping it would go away, but after a couple days with no change I made an appointment and I'm glad to say that everything is going to be ok! Dr. Glass and his staff at 57 Dermatology are AMAZING!!! I went to my appointment during my lunch break so it was pretty busy, but they were apologetic for the wait, and I was seen pretty quickly. His assistant Kat came in to meet with me first and she was really nice and warm and I felt very comfortable telling her what was wrong. A few minutes later, Dr. Glass came in, looked at the bumps on my back and knew right away what the issue was! He explained everything to me so clearly and thoroughly, it was very easy for me to follow and understand. I can confidently say that I've found my new dermatologist! read more

57 West Dermatology is so wonderful! I recently moved from Texas and needed to find someone trustworthy to tend to my skin. I was referred to Carrie and so thankful because she and her team are the best. She did my skin check and made me feel very comfortable. I then booked an appointment to get rid of my sun spots on my face that had been bothering me. Dr. Glass took great care of me today and explained thoroughly the process and sent me home with some good cream for aftercare. This practice is so convenient. Carrie was able to step in after my laser treatment to give me a touch up with Botox which was completely painless :) I highly recommend everyone to come here! I was thinking today about the places I'd miss if I moved out of New York...57 West Dermatology would definitely top that list! Carrie is just the best--beyond being super professional, fast, and an expert in her field, she is the cutest, sweetest, and most personable practitioner you could hope to meet. She's like the big sister you never had, or the popular girl in high school who sticks up for the weird, loner kids that everyone else makes fun of. What does that even mean? I'm not sure, but I always love going there and seeing her. She is such a positive, "up" individual and always makes me feel good about whatever skin issue I'm facing. She consistently offers expert opinions, along with facts you can trust, is totally knowledgable, gives the best advice about skin stuff, is up to date on whatever procedures you're considering, and the practice itself has a genuinely fun and quirky, yet functional and smooth-running vibe. Great staff, and I love Samantha at the front desk too, who is amazing at her job. I don't know if people realize how hard that position is, but she is incredible...she still has time to be nice even when the waiting area is overflowing to capacity and the phone is ringing off the hook. I was referred to Dr. Alan Glass (57 West Derm) by my chiropractor (Dr. Jeff Rosenberg, who is - spoiler alert - also an awesome medical professional). I wanted a full-body check as it has been a long time since seeing a dermatologist. The referral could not have been more positive. The office team and medical assistants are all efficient, polite, and helpful. I called and there was an opening for the next business day. I filled out paperwork in advance via a link to an app they sent me, which expedited check-in. I arrived a little early, was in an exam room early, and was seen on time. Dr. Glass is very competent and thorough, and he kept me informed and asked questions as he evaluated me, leaving time for my questions. I left the appointment feeling well taken care of and, fortunately, no items of concern. Highest recommendation. Addition to review: I had a skin issue arise and was able to get in the same day. The doctor fit me in - I'm a new patient - and took care of things quickly, with the needed scrip in my hands within 30 minutes (Duane Reade is right across the street). I was never a patient here, but my wife was and they sent her bill to a collection agency despite our never having seen it. I believe it was emailed to her and went to her spam folder. We had no problem paying the bill, but when I called they refused to take it out of the collection agency. So basically they screwed up my wife's credit for a 90 day old invoice that we never received and refused to accommodate a reasonable ask that they simply take it out of the collection agency before we paid the amount in full. It's such a disappointment when you work in Healthcare and treat patients with respect and then actually be a patient and not even be treated like a human being. Samantha, the receptionist, couldn't bother to acknowledge my presence because she was too busy flirting with the male patient who was already done with his appointment. I got nothing but eyerolls and looks of disdain from her for providing her with an EOB (which had every detail about my insurance). When I told her she can call also call to check my eligibility, I got another eyeroll. She then told me I couldn't be seen because she was getting misinformation about my insurance online. To avoid another eyeroll, I went ahead to do her job and call. She even gave me an absurd excuse saying that she would call but she claimed she was the only one there and needed the line free to answer incoming phone calls. Who in 2018 in NYC that runs a medical practice with 2 physicians only has 1 telephone line??? Apparently this office!! When I got the automated response from my insurance carrier about my active eligibility, she requested to speak with a rep from Oxford. I gave her my phone which she kept on speaker and was ready to go over all my PHI with a waiting room now full of patients. I had to tell her to take the rep off speaker because she was not protecting my PHI and not complying with HIPAA. And I was met with another eyeroll. I've never encountered such atrocious treatment. This is an office that has policies about HIPAA in their intake forms, yet your own employee doesn't uphold the law. After verifying that my ID number was in fact the same info on the EOB, she returned my phone and didn't even care to apologize. The MA that did the initial medical intake with me actually apologized for what happened. This MA treated me like a human and actually asked how I was doing. Shortly after, Dr. Glass entered and tried to be funny about the reason for my visit, saying it only took 5 years, which I didn't appreciate. Normally, other MDs that I have seen, have their MA prepare the patient before a physical exam, like have the patient change into a gown. This doctor came in and just had me undress right there. The only saving grace was that the kind female MA stayed in the room. He was trying to get everything done in a NY minute, including a biopsy. He did ask if I cared for the gown or not, but at this point I was already consumed with disappointment that I didn't care. I only booked this appointment out of desperation for a prescription to relieve my symptoms. The only thing I appreciated from him is that he said he wants to find the root cause of my condition. He told me that he would call me with the results good or bad. I hope he follows through with that because I do not care to be mistreated again by Samantha. Perhaps if I was coming in for cosmetic services, I would be treated like a human. If you're not retaining the patient base that you wish, you should retrain your staff on common courtesy, simple data entry, and make sure they understand HIPAA laws. Maybe I got your staff on a bad day, but that's the same broken record every other doctor raps to a patient. All patients should be treated the same, whether it's for a cosmetic service or their annual skin cancer exam. I've been to a range of offices from Medicaid clinics to far more prestigious doctors on the Upper East Side and have never encountered such an absence of professionalism. read more

I've seen both, Dr. Glass (visited for acne treatment) and Dr. Doolin (visited for microneedling). both of them were very knowledgable, down to earth, and listened to everything I said. They both go into great detail about everything which was amazing. I also had zero issues with billing. Best of all, Dr. Glass and Doolin are not like the newer doctors who seem to try and either sell you something or preach a marketing script to you. For sure recommend. read more

Carrie has helped me SO much in my journey of getting my face back to normal after I mistakenly went to a Medspa and was botched. Originally wanting a little drop of Restylane filler in my tear trough, the nurse ended up convincing me that what I needed was cheek filler to solve my problem. Before I could speak up and tell her I didn't think I needed cheek filler she poked my face and filled my cheeks with permanent non dissolvable filler. Long story short I've been angry at myself and looking for a solution. Carrie has been so patient with me, trying to help me go back to the way I looked before. She's very smart and knowledgeable. I know it's going to take a while for this filler to dissipate, whatever happens I hope Carrie can keep helping me speed up this process, because I've been looking a lot better now! This practice is a scam. They will provide an invoice for your visit and then slap you with another bill out of no where before seeing you again. I never got a call back from Dr. Glass so everything was passed along from the assistants. Even when I had an infection and needed antibiotics the doctor still didn't call and they wanted me to pay for a virtual visit with the other doctor when they already saw what it looked like. I don't feel that they care for the patients as much they care about the green. I've moved my business elsewhere. read more

I've been coming here for years, and have seen both Carrie and Dr. Glass for various things- acne, lasers, skin checks, allergic reactions. Both Carrie and Dr. Glass are excellent! They really take their time, answer all my questions, and give advice when I'm not sure which treatment plan to go with. I cycled through a few dermatologists before I found this practice- I hate feeling like I only have 30 seconds, or that they just prescribe some cookie cutter treatment plan. Not here! read more

After having a really bad experience with a previous dermatologist, I cannot day enough about how awesome this place is! Carrie is fantastic--she took the time to explain to me everything, and took genuine concern about my overall skin health. I can't say enough good things about this place. I've since moved out of NY but now travel from out of state for my derm appointments because of how much I trust and respect Carrie's work. She's really nice and super knowledgeable and won't try to oversell you on a service you don't need. She's honestly the first person who convinced me to stop tanning. Through mole removals and pre cancerous cells, I've been really grateful that she was my provider on several occasions. The FOH staff and nurses are solid also, I've never had issue waiting long or being over billed or anything like that. I was a first time patient going in really based on availability through my insurer's website. Didn't know what to expect and kinda dreading it. Office staff was on the ball. Efficient, quick and ready. The office was BUSY and I prepared for the worst--I waited no more than 15 minutes before saw the doctor! Dr. Glass listened to my problem, concerns and examined me. Diagnosed me instantly. One of the topical ointments weren't covered by my insurer so he gave me enough samples to cover it. Smart and direct, great demeanor. Watches out for patients.
