The chicken salad was delicious. The amount they put on the sandwich is generous. The hummus was a tiny scoop for the number of pita chips. You can order extra hummus for an additional charge, however. The latte was good and strong. I love a bold coffee. However, it wasn't as smooth as I prefer my coffee. It had a bit of a bitter punch like Starbucks. The flavor was good though and I did finish it. The menu is limited for food options, but for a quick and easy lunch or coffee, it's perfect!

One of my favorites to get is the cool carmello. Food wise their breakfast burrito and Conecuh sausage biscuit is delicious. As a student I've also tried to study here before. There is additional seating upstairs. The lighting is more dim on the upper deck. Surrounded by numerous and convenient parking spots, there is no excuse not to go!

I had a great first experience at Filter coffee today! Upon walking in, I was greeted by the…read moreemployee at the counter with a smile. When I went to the counter, I took a moment to look at the menu, and told him it was the first time in. He took the time to explain the signature flavors, the various ways to order a drink, and even explained the different notes of the coffee beans they offered. I ended up ordering a vanilla cardamom cappuccino to go. The barista brought the coffee to my table, which I found extremely personable and kind, even though they had multiple orders to make. The coffee had great notes of cardamom and vanilla without being overly sweet, which I really appreciated. Even though I got it to go, the drink stayed warm for quite some time, and was in a compostable container. In addition to this, all UAB students actually get 10% off, just make sure to show your Blazer ID. One thing I noticed for future visits is that the tables are quite small, so it may not be the best place to do work or study, especially not in group settings. While it was a pretty quiet space that could be good for studying, the seating is not the most conducive to studying. In addition to this, Filter Coffee is located at 5 points, which makes parking difficult, but that is not the company's fault, just something to note if someone decides to visit. Overall, I definitely see myself going back to Filter and highly recommend it to anyone if they around the 5 Points area for the friendly staff, great coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Eventually, I was able to to catch the attention of a passing worker. I asked about my order's status and was loudly and brusquely informed; "I'm working on it." Ten minutes later the order arrived. Napkins? Nope. None anywhere. No anything -- sweetener, creamer, stirs, jackets for the cups...we were on our own. While we were there, whiling away our morning, we noticed a stream of potential customers who arrived, were never served, and who then left. That's money out the door. Shameful. 100% of the workers' (if I may use the term liberally) attention was toward the drive-through window. So...this was my second visit to this location. The prior visit was only slightly less awful. Clearly, these folks don't like the job, or the pay, or the customers, or the shirt I was wearing, or something. But they were rude and disinterested. This joint flies in the face of every other Dunkin I've every frequented. Someone in management or ownership needs to step in and either do some serious training or clean house. This is just unacceptable.

I originally wanted to sit outside since the weather was so nice, but ended up sitting inside. Next time I'll try to get there earlier to grab an outdoor spot. Parking is pretty tight--the front lot is small--but I was lucky to find a spot, and I noticed some people parked on the surrounding streets.
