One, two, threes strikes we're out... sad to say, we looked for a "down to earth" hang spot - but every time you ask the bartender what liqour (brands of whiskry, tequila, or vodka in our instance) they serve you're met with an eyeroll (every.single.time.) gosh forbid you ask for aixed coktail ... and then you're served last of the more 'regular' regulars, with a SMIRK - and it doesn't seem to matter which bartender, the dude or the gal - equal eye roll. And then as they serve your cocktail nearly last, they call last call and stare at you to finish within minutes. Meh. I would say do bette to the company owner, but I think they dont care in the least. They've already secure their spot in downtown new braunfels. And i would also say that is sad, because the place is spacious and nice amd has SO much more potential to be memorable in the right way. read more

I enjoyed coming here pre Covid, but definitely didn't feel safe in there last week. They did not have every few barstool closed off with signs or anything. I had a woman sit directly next to me at the bar and yell her order over me. People playing pool with no masks, not everyone seated but rather walking around with no mask. We went and sat in a table in the back to finish our drinks and left. I wish they would enforce some more rules :/ I was shocked when that lady sat next to me and spoke across my face to the bartender. 2 stars bc drinks and food are fine but they prob don't want a visit from the health inspector and should get it together. read more

Scores looks so divey from the outside you would probably wouldn't give it a 2nd look. But go on in you find a spacious area, tons of tables , a multitude of TVs playing games, 2 huge bars -with a small but tasty menu and , really sweet waitresses. Live bands on the weekend. The new Braunfels Blues society will occasionally have their quarterly blues jam where anyone can sign up (free) to play. Love the inexpensive drinks here. They are Not watered down like other bars you may find on San Antonio Street. The first time I asked for bourbon and coke I got the best tasting drink, and it was $3!! Place is really hopping during the St. Paddys day pub crawl. Happy hour drink specials- noon to 7pm with different specials. Kid friendly, not pet friendly. I swung by Scores tonight after a really long deep cleaning day. I wanted comfort food. And that's what I got. Cheese and queso was perfect, chicken tenders and curly fries 10/10. I forgot to ask for honey mustard and ketchup and realized on my way home, but thought... oh well. Got home to find they had already included it in the box! Read my mind. Bartenders there were super kind and food came out in less than 15 minutes. Super happy with my meal. read more

On our last day in New Braunfels, we were looking for a place to watch some NFL football. We checked out Scores Sports Bar and it was everything we wanted. It's a huge bar and they have a ton of TVs. That means that they were showing every single NFL game. With how large the bar is, it was still packed. Luckily, we found an area where we could see both the Pats game and the Panthers game. We sat at some high tables and had some beers. Service was a little slow but understandable given the number of people there. We didn't have any food so I can't comment on the quality of the bar grub. What I can say is that it's a great spot to watch some football! read more

I am so glad we picked this place for dinner and drinks- for our entire neighborhood and my social group. I am a people watcher. Emily, the manager, hustled all night. Every table, every corner, she ran. We had a waitress but she still stopped by our table multiple times to make sure we were good! Then our party expanded and she moved us to a different waitress. This waitress was also amazing. Her name was also Emily but they call her "OS". I cannot say enough about these two women! I am truly dissatisfied by the way this establishment conducts business. I came to a prime location in New Braunfels to spend time with a dear old friend; a friend that sadly has a speech impediment. Our server whose name I have unfortunately forgotten refused to serve us within the minute we had sat down, she did not even greet our party. Not only did this server arrogantly not serve my friend, but refused our WHOLE TABLE any alcohol purchases. As if we were some teenagers. Go anywhere else in the bar packed downtown NB area. Five of us enjoyed a great time at Scores the night of the first game of the World Series cheering the Astros. While the bar was very busy, Charlie took very good care of us. Drinks were served promptly and Scores offers good basic pub fare prepared with good flavor also served promptly. Considering how busy they got Charlie and the rest of the staff did a great job. We have experienced much slower service in many restaurants not nearly as busy. Try Scores the next time you are in New Braunfels. read more

I don't go here much because of the smoke (even when no one is smoking, it still smells like tobacco) and that's the only thing keeping this from being a great little bar. But they have a decent beer selection, friendly bartenders and great lunch specials. I usually get the lunch to go - it's hard to beat a (non-alcoholic) drink, burger or sandwich, and fries for $7.50 in downtown New Braunfels. read more

This is one of NB's newest attractions. If you love TV's and booze this is the place for you. Scores is a mahogany wonderland - the walls, the bar, and the large pub tables. You can also enjoy darts, pool, and poker *on select nights. Just like the rest of NB this bar is extremely casual. You can hop off the river and stumble in for a chill night out. We went to scores for our nieces birthday. My boyfriend and I had never been here before. We enjoyed the atmosphere and our waitress was great and the food was amazing and the cold beer was great we spent over $100 easy. From the outside it doesn't look like much, but inside is spacious and fun. We came here to eat because it is across from the piano bar we wanted to go to. We all had burgers and fries. The good: prices were reasonable. Hamburgers/ cheeseburgers were tasty. The bun was grilled and home made, a plus. Good sized and fries were perfect. The bad: not much bad jus that the buns were a tad sweet for my taste. Everyone else seemed to like them. The service: the buxom blonde who served us was friendly and came to check on us frequently. Food cane out in about 10 minutes and we did not wait for the check. Overall a great place and a perfect place to eat before you wander the bars/ streets of New Braunfels, TX. Scores is by far one of my families favourite places to go to. Wings and salads are so good, best we've found in Texas so far that is still open, and we were lucky to be there during a promotion and got two free beers each. The staff are wonderful, super friendly, checking in with you every once and a while. Overall, a great atmosphere. Really solid for a smaller sports bar. I was only in the downstairs section but I stopped in for the Ohio State vs. Michigan game and had a few drinks. Decent selection of draught beer, and everyone in the bar at the time seemed to be drinking a specialized Bloody Mary (which looked amazing). Not going to overwhelm anyone with atmosphere, drink selection, or price...but a solid spot to watch a sporting event nonetheless. Would definitely go back. read more
