Scorpion Bay Coffee in Pismo Beach was such a great find! The staff was friendly and welcoming, and my coffee came out quickly and tasted amazing. You can tell they take pride in what they serve. The shop itself is cute, cozy, and has a really inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect place to get some work done or just relax for a while. I loved that there were plenty of seating options, including comfortable couches, regular tables and chairs, and high-top seating, so it's easy to find a spot that fits what you're looking for. The only downside is the parking. There isn't a dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to find street parking, which can be a little challenging depending on how busy the area is. Walked here because Stations was pretty packed. Though, these guys were packed too when we hoped it would be not as long of a line. Stopped in on a Sunday 7/19, as I reviewed the menu, I saw a lot of Mocha drink specialties which was interesting.. We ordered 16ozs, extra hot: Salty Nut and a Vanilla Latte. This size comes with 2 shots of espresso and the 20oz comes with 4 shots. We should've examined this a little better because this size definitely needs an EXTRA SHOT to have more of a coffee taste....so definitely didn't taste like a "perfect cup". (Or we should've went with the 20z with 4 shots but that's too much volume for us.) A little disappointing....not sure if I'd be willing to give it another shot... there's other options.... read more

Scorpion Bay Coffee is amazing! We were visiting Pismo and stopped in for some coffee and breakfast. The menu options for coffee is large with a variety of drinks. I decided to get the Dominican mocha which was made with dark chocolate. It had a rich chocolatey flavor and I could still taste the espresso which is exactly how I like my mochas! For food, we tried their banana bread, strawberry oatmeal muffin, and the egg sausage cheese croissant. All of the food was warmed up and it was delicious! I would get everything again. Scorpion Bay has some leather chairs and a couch to sit at, a booth, and a few high top tables. There's also a table to sit at outside. The employees were all friendly and nice. I had a memorable experience at Scorpion Bay Coffee (Pismo Beach). I ordered the Salty Nut Latte ($7.25 - Iced - 20oz). This coffee contains salted caramel, pistachio & vanilla syrup, milk, and four shots of espresso. This fresh brew whisked me away on a magical journey. In the end, I found happiness. I arrived at Scorpion Bay Coffee (Pismo Beach) on Thursday (around 9:20AM). Surprisingly, there's nearby, competitive neighborhood parking. However, parking is consistently hard because it's Pismo Beach (expect parking meters). Fortunately, it's a leisurely four minute walk from the beach's coastline. When I had arrived, the location was stuffed with customers. POPULAR!! The line took about eight minutes to reach the counter. Staff is professional and diligent. Staff appeared fatigued, but Staff works hard. My drink took six minutes. As mentioned, I adored the Salty Nut Latte ($7.25 - Iced - 20oz). It perfectly balances utility and flavor. I felt very awake after sipping. The coffee and salted caramel add unexpected depth to this drink. And the playful aftertaste of pistachio and vanilla tasted delightful~ It tastes very fresh and natural. My eyes continued to widen in surprise with each following sip. It's one of the best coffees that I've ever had the honor of sipping. On ambiance, Scorpion Bay Coffee (Pismo Beach) is dimly lit and crowded. However, there's sincere utility. The location offers customer internet with password; customers must speak to staff for the details. (Pssst. It's a very easy password to remember.) In addition, I also counted six electrical outlets; each outlet is near each table. There's also a gender neutral restroom in the back. In addition, this location is very pet friendly. Commonly, I saw dogs held on leashes as customers waited in the long line to order. Scorpion Bay Coffee (Pismo Beach) also felt well-ventilated. The ceiling felt very tall, and most tables are very wide. There's about seven tables. The location also felt well-maintained and clean. Seriously the best coffee locally. I happen to stumble here bc I was at another coffee shop that had a long line so I left. This place did not disappoint! Their speciality drinks are soo good. I love the inside ambiance. It has an industrial , modern look. There's a couch and few tables to eat and hang out , study or use your laptop. Came here after lunch at Cracked Crab and before heading to the beach. Place has a steady flow of people coming in and I like the fact that their menu is posted outside and inside the wall since they have a large and overwhelming variety of drinks to choose from which I think is great. My wife had the lavender latte and I had the caramel brûlée latte. There was a staff of 3 and can take a while to get your order. I can't say the staff is overly friendly so you won't get any small talk in the counter. I got that Starbucks barista vibe personally . Coffee was good and worth going to get your caffeine fix. We're staying in Pismo this weekend for my older sisters' birthday, so before we started our day we stopped by Scorpion Bay Coffee for some drinks. Service is good. There was a line to the door the entire time we were there, so I love that the staff is able to maintain that friendliness through those rushes. The interior is moody and cozy. My mom got the Salty Nut Latte with soy and she said it was probably a 3/5. She loved the pistachio flavor and the coffee itself, but was missing out on some of that salted caramel flavor. I got a jalapeño cheddar bagel (which was good), and an iced white mocha with soy & lightly sweetened. I may just be super picky with my coffee, but I'll admit it wasn't my favorite. I'm not quite sure if I can even pinpoint what it was. It wasn't bad, just not my favorite. I would love to come back here and try a different drink sometime when I'm back in Pismo. Although these drinks weren't our favorites, we both tried something a little different than what we usually get, so I bet I'd love another drink here. A coffee shop that has innovation. Their unique Scorpion latte is truly one of a kind. Who would've thought to put cayenne pepper in coffee. It paired well with the coffee and made it an amazing cup. 1. Original Scorpion Latte Espresso with choice of milk, cayenne pepper and organic honey. The coffee was perfect - not bitter or sour. It has a darker roast note to it that is perfect with the cayenne pepper. The cayenne pepper really gives that nice "burn" in the throat - in a nice way. 2. Killer Scorpion Latte Basically it is their original scorpion latte but with added cinnamon. If you like cinnamon, this is the choice. It was pleasantly cinnamony, which hits you first, then the cayenne pepper part kicks in. I feel like this one burns a but less than the original because the cinnamon balanced it out. read more

I love that they have so many options for just one latte. I was able to get an unsweetened matcha powder with unsweetened almond milk and added sugar free vanilla to it. It was perfection. I was in Pismo over the weekend and came here for coffee one morning since it was super close to my hotel. There was a line to wait in that was about 15 minutes. I ordered the iced pistachio option, and my partner got the same. We both expected more pistachio flavor but its probably because it was mixed with vanilla. I ordered a not so great burrito from there. Could have been heated up more because it was cold towards the middle and the eggs tasted gritty. I tried 'The Original Scorpion Latte' over ice which is made with organic honey, cayenne pepper, milk, and espresso'. Such an interesting way to put a latte together, but I definitely liked the "kick" in it. This place has a great menu that consists of Drip coffee, as well as Specialty Espresso drinks, Cortado, Cold Brews, Chai, Matcha, Teas, Hot Chocolate, oatmeal, croissants, bagels, pre-made breakfast burritos, pastries. They also have a good variety of merch. Plenty of seating if you want to relax and enjoy your treat here. Such a clean and cozy lobby. Prices are very reasonable. Welcoming and friendly staff. Located a block away from downtown, we came here to grab a coffee and quick breakfast to go on one of the days were in Pismo. The coffee shop here is cozy and inviting. I decided to get a cortado and my husband got an iced mexican cold brew. We also got a couple of spinach feta croissants. The girl taking my order was new and was a bit flustered but very nice and eventually got the right order in. My cortado was smooth, creamy, and bold. While my husband's cold brew was good, he ended up regretting his choice to get the mexican version as the chocolate and spices overpower the coffee taste itself. Stopped by this morning visiting from out of town and my experience was ok. Young lady at the cash register didn't have the best attitude, not that one needs to be too cheerful but I feel that working in a touristy town, there should be some sort of effort for good customer service, there was none. My latte was ok, if you're an avid coffee drinker, I wouldn't depend on a cup from here to get you through the morning. Coffee is 5/10. We got the 24 oz blended sweet mocha. It was pretty good. It had 4 shots of espresso and the taste was quite balanced. It wasn't overly sweet and wasn't bitter either. They did a great job of making the drink light and very drinkable. The server was fun and festive for Halloween! The place reminded me of a nice dark coffee bar. Went for a walk today, decided to treat myself to a matcha. No. Worst matcha I've ever had. She did not blend the matcha enough, each drink had chunks of bitter unblended matcha powder.
