I probably go their on a weekly basis - my orders vary depending on how healthy I want to be or how hungry I am. I ordered their original burger platter with a drink yesterday and they have added an option for a slightly smaller burger. It was cooked to perfection and the fries (freshly cut with skin on) was perfectly seasoned. Drinks are served in plastic cups which may be refilled and taken home. I generally expect to wait about 10 minutes to get my meal and have never been disappointed. My only criticism right now is that it seems to have newer employees and not enough to handle keeping the tables bussed after a busy Saturday lunch. Please work on that area. read more

Bad luck tonight followed by a lame "I'm sorry". We ordered and waited 25 min. We new our order was lost when the family of 7 that came in 10 minutes after us got their food first. When I went to the counter the manager continued to run around while asking what the problem was instead of stopping and giving me her attention. When I told her our problem she asked for my ticket and took it to the back and then kept doing other things. No explanation as to what to expect. Once our food was ready, 45 minutes after arriving, she brought it out. In to go containers. She then gave us a $5 off card. Read the fine print and it is $5 off $15 on your next visit. I always get the huge green chili pepper burger with turkey burger substitute on wheat bun. Add sweet potato fries and you have a very flavorful meal that you can barely finish. It's enough to share. Disappointed. We had a simple request - a regular sized salad with a burger patty on top. The cashier insisted that in addition to the $6 salad she would have to tack on another $5 (the full price of a burger). She suggested we could have chicken added instead for only $3. No flexibility - that was the rule. No stars would be my choice if the app would let me, but it won't. We won't be back. I've given this place several chances because I'm hoping they'll get it right. But bless Scotty P's heart, they can't. Tonight, for example, I ordered three burgers for three people in my group, and only two come out. Well, I check my ticket and turns out I was not charged for the missing burger so return to the counter, point out what happened, and I pay for the missing burger. Which brings me to... Mistake #1: When it's clear that the order taker made the mistake on an order, any correction should not be charged to the customer. So, we sit down and the two of us with burgers start to eat (while they're still warm). I notice on my burger one small tomato slice the size of a pickle slice. Why do they even bother? Truly, cost-cutting has gone to far at Scotty P's. Anyway... Mistake #2: About 15 minutes later I'm thinking, okay, this is ridiculous. They should have put a rush on this make-up order, but instead they just put it in line behind everyone else's order. A few minutes later I was about to get up to complain when they finally brought it out. The burgers here are okay, but not among the best dozen or so around Dallas. Above average is about the best praise I can give them. A warning about the "Whole Wheat" buns on their menu, which they charge you 15 cents extra for: They are NOT whole wheat buns. I've asked to see the package, and they are in fact "Cracked Wheat" buns, which are NOT made of Whole Wheat. (Whole wheat is the preferred bun type if you're trying to avoid obesity, because all other bun types are processed wheat, and are treated like pure sugar inside your body. That's why bread makes you fat -- it is essentially dessert.) A year ago I pointed this out to Scotty P himself in emails, and he basically doesn't see a problem with deceiving the public and has done nothing to fix his deceit. (I still have the emails to back this up.) I'm a stickler for integrity, and Scotty P's fails that test. That combined with grade B burgers, and this is only a place I go on rare occasions, when better burger options aren't close by. read more

I love Scotty P's. Found it when I was doing a contract job in Frisco, and discovered this one by searching for other locations -- I live in Lake Highlands, and almost never go to Firewheel, but this is worth the trip. I'm very picky about burgers -- and I have food allergies -- so for me to make a special trip to get a burger means something. Not the best burger in the world, but on my Top 10 list. I notice that several people talk about fake reviews -- I don't work for the restaurant chain, and this is my real opinion, and I'm a real customer. The decor seems a bit fancy for a burger place but is nice and welcoming. You walk in and select your items from the menu over the registers and then so find a place to sit while you wait for your order. They have some large booths that could easily hold six people. They also have smaller booths and tables. Not a terrible large restaurants as restaurants go. The staff is friendly. Seems to be a very small staff. My wife ordered the Greek chicken kabob platter and really enjoyed that. I ordered their original burger and fries. We decided to also order a small order of onion strings. My burger was a bit hard to bite into which led me to wonder if it had actually been pre-cooked and then warmed up when my order was placed. It seemed to have been formed in one of those burger press type things as it had a perfectly round shape and even depth all around. All burgers are cooked to medium well unless you specify otherwise. My fries were okay. Not really seasoned or anything. Nothing to write home about as they say. We were glad we ordered the small size of the onion strings. That little plate which is half the size of the plate that burger and fries come on was stacked about six maybe seven inches high with the onion strings. Way more than we needed so we shared it with others at our table. They were okay. I have had better. Wouldn't order them again. They offer only unsweet tea. No matter how much sugar I used it never did sweeten up. If I went back here it would be to try the Greek chicken kabob platter that my wife liked. Don't think I would order another burger there again. My wife developed a really upset stomach after eating which she attributes to the grease in the onion strings. So we won't order those again either. Really there was nothing that I ate that stood out as something that I would want to come back for again. I only been in Texas since 2019. I first tried Scotty P's in Garland TX. The burger is a nice size but over charbroiled. I tried the Scotty Ps in Plano on Custard Rd. I specifically asked if they sold Pastrami burgers when I called in. The person who took the phone order said to me. We'll put whatever you want. So I said a cheeseburger with pastrami meat. The person said lettuce, tomatoes, onions. I said yes no mayo only mustard. The person said what kind of cheese? I said cheddar or Mozzarella. When I pickup my burger. I checked it at the counter and I was looking at the menu. I told the associate at the counter. I don't see any pastrami meat on the menu. He said we don't sell pastrami. I replied, I specifically asked if this burger place Scotty p's sell Pastrami. I was told yes. He said it's hard to understand with the mask. I was in my car alone with no mask on. I spoke very clearly. They flat out lied. I said . If I'd known you didnt have pastrami burgers here. I wouldn't have order a burger here. The associate I spoke with. He sound like the man on the phone. The burger was good. It was the principle of saying I could get whatever I want on my burger and I said pastrami. He use COVID-19 to cover the lie. Him knowing they had no pastrami. I will be a very long time before I return to this place of business again. I don't want to say never. I expect everybody to be honest and truthful. I think Scotty P's makes one of the best burgers in town. Scotty's was originally recommended by a co-worker. Then I had one. Oh man!. I always order the original because it is just so good. I like to think I had a hand in bringing a Scotty's to the Firewheel location because their web site asked for suggestions on the next Scotty's location. I got my wish of a Scotty P's less than 3 miles from my home. I have their number on my cell speed dial because I often call in a take out order while out running errands. We love Scotty P's! Although being as pricey as it is for burgers for a family of 5, it is a once a month treat to go there. Never had a staff or food issue at all. The Firewheel (Garland) location is the best! The food is always fresh and delicious, and management and staff are so friendly. My family and I eat at this location somewhat regularly and each time, I am impressed. The char-grilled burgers are the best in town. The crispy chicken tenders are marinated to perfection and the cardiac fries are to die for(no pun intended). Had a great experience at Scotty P's.. Their burgers put a smile on my face and I got to do a little bit of coloring made me feel like a kid again. All of the silverware was clean and in the customer service was very professional. From the outside looking in I would've never guessed how cool, old-school, "Texan", it would be on the inside. This trip the menu has changed... ok BUT we ordered the salad shown on the board (menu) and with one price showing now and the guy taking our order didn't ask what size.......with that said we were under the impression it was the regular size salad we ordered.....Nope!
