Love me some Scrambled!! I've been to this place numerous times and the food is hot and delicious. I normally get a customized version of one of their skillets with lots of veggies and they're always fresh! I've tried most of the other breakfast items too and they're delish- from the donuts to the omelets. It's cozy on the inside and the staff is friendly and efficient. It's good for family breakfasts or dining solo. And it's pretty busy every time I've been there. Hoping they won't sacrifice quality now that they're gaining popularity!! Definitely a gem! read more

Had a very unpleasant experience yesterday. Ordered a special called the Frenchie Melt. Either the server said it was a patty melt on French bread or we misheard her. When the meal came, it was a patty melt on French toast. This was not appetizing to us, and we asked for Rye bread instead. We could see the cook express his disgust, hear him say "I can't do that. I'll have to make the whole thing over again" and watched as he swiped our plates into the trash. We felt very uncomfortable, told them not to remake it, paid for the food we didn't eat, and left. Having been at Scrambled a couple of times I must say delish. The food is unique and full of flavor. I met the couple that own this place and they are full of passion for their business and customers. I am amazed at how they combine seafood with breakfast items. It was just...ok. Wait turned out to be 30 minutes, and even though there were 4 groups ahead of me, 6 or 7 were called first. Dont know if they called in their spots, or came in and left and came back. The waiting area only has a couple of seats so I ended up standing during the wait. The dining area is small, service is friendly, but slow. Food was fresh and looked good. I ordered from the specials blackboard breakfast and lunch (lol). Bacon cheeseburger omelet, was pretty good, saw some bacon but didnt taste much. Hash browns were raw in the middle. Also ordered a lobster roll. Lobster looked tasty, but not much flavor, mostly mayo.. nice tomatoes and lettuce but too clunky to pick up and eat, so ate it like a salad. Fries were good, and they make their own ketchup. Found a pickle under the roll when I was done. I don't think its packed because of the food, I just think there aren't many options in this little town, and it has an eclectic diner feel that hoosiers aren't used to. I typically have breakfast when I go to The Scrambled. I heart the french toast and the turkey sausage patties. I recently tried the buffalo chicken sandwich and I must say that I was pleasantly surprised. The sandwich comes with grilled chicken, fresh crumbled blue cheese and lettuce on french bread. The flavor of the chicken and the blue cheese is sooo good. The buffalo sauce comes on the side and was a bit oily, but it was still decent. The fries were awesome...probably some of the best I've ever had. Pretty nice portions for the price. They have recently started to accept credit cards which was a big deal for some...not for me though. If only they would burn my hash browns the way I like them and have a better beverage selection...they could have five stars. read more

My wife and I had been wanting to try this place for ages based upon all the stellar reviews. We were debating going here or the Egg & I. Too bad we didn't go there. I ordered an omlette with bacon, swiss, onions and green peppers. Omlettes come with bonus side meat which for this meal was turkey sausage. The Turkey sausage in my opinion was terrible. Big enough patties but they taste like a mouthful of spices that don't go well with each other. They "omlette" is unique in that the ingredients are mixed together and then topped with a fluffy egg patty. They don't actually cook the vegetables, just warm them (this is what the waitress said when we inquired as to why The veg weren't cooked) so I was delighted with a mouthful of raw onions. Then I set about scraping all the onions out of the cheese. I don't mind crunchy peppers, but raw onions for breakfast is disgusting. The toast and jam were very good and the bacon was super thick. My wife didn't care for the eggs but I thought they were ok. But a pile of ingredients on a plate with separately cooked eggs is not an omlette. The hash browns were ok too, very fine shreds that are clumped together tightly. I told our server that I was quite dissatisfied and she offered to replace my sausage but declined, just wanting them to know how I felt. Later when she brought the bill she told us that they took my meal off which made me feel better but we probably won't be stopping back anytime soon. There should be a disclaimer or something that advises about the veg situation so one could order thoroughly cooked veg. read more

I visited this establishment for the first time in years the other day. I ordered the veggie skillet and was disappointed that there were no eggs on it- as I assumed that veggie meant only vegetables and egg without any meat offered in the other skillets. Though the absence of eggs made me a bit sad, the skillet was otherwise excellent. I could have eaten another one in that sitting. The pancakes are whole wheat and they don't tell you that nor does it say that on the menu so we wasted 2 whole orders of pancakes because the kids just weren't having it. I had an omelette and it didn't even have cheese which I thought always came with omelettes. I do appreciate that everything is fresh and homemade and more of a healthier version. I liked their homemade ketchup and hot sauce and jam, not so much the thick bread. My husband and I used to live in NWI and we both desperately miss this place. I always got the farmer vegetable skillet with goat cheese. I seriously still have dreams about it! My husband always got the pancakes or French toast and loved it. Their lunch is great as well. My husband loved their burger and fries. I also tried the creole omelet and buffalo shrimp skillet and it was great, but VERY spicy. Thankfully I love heat and spice, but I can see it being too much for people. The only thing I ever got that I didn't really care for was the blackened veggie skillet. When they said blackened they meant burnt to a crisp! I like a burnt/charcoal taste, but it was a bit much. After a few bites I was done. All in all, this place is great! I always left way fuller than I needed to be haha. My only complaint is (and this may have changed since I was there last) they are way too small of a place for their clientele! Being from the South I was impressed they had sweet tea, and not only sweet tea but real brewed sweet tea and not can!!! Secondly I'm a big fella, and this big bear can pack it in. Its a small place to start, and when people leave, it takes them forever to clear it for the next group of customers.
