this place is more like a 3.5 out of 5 stars. i rarely come to Norco, and even less now that i don't live in california. I stopped here, since my flight at ontario airport was delayed and wanted to get something to eat to kill the time. so random that there is a hawaii style breakfast place in Norco, but definitely not complaining. We ended up getting the hawaiian omelette and a loco moco. Along with coffee and guava juice. Both items were good. Definitely can't go wrong with the loco moco, but i wish the patty was a bit thicker. it had a lot of rice, and also not a lot of gravy. The hawaiian omelette came with pineapples, which was a first for me... never tried eggs with pineapples, but it gave it a unique taste. Service was fairly quick. I ignored the reviews and came here anyways cuz I like to experience places myself and yup, the 1-2 star reviews is pretty much solid. First they're out of BBQ beef but it is what it is. I asked if I can order Hibachi steak with Katsu chicken and the guy said no problem. Once I sat down I noticed there was no Katsu on my receipt. I went to the front to verify and they basically said they can't substitute. I told them "it wasn't a substitute, I ordered steak and Katsu and you said it was ok". Another girl came to try to assist and she said the same thing, no substitute. I didn't want it to ruin my Saturday lunch with my wife so I said screw it. This is why I HATE tipping before I get my food! They ask for a tip before I get served and screw up my order then I'll give them a 2 star before I get my food. 2 stars for their service. Was able to get into this place this morning as the line wasn't too bad. I'm a big ube fanatic so I had to get the Ube pancakes. Pancakes were moist and the ube was not over powering. The coconut cream added nice contrast of flavor. Other things we ordered were the eggs Benedict, the special spam and egg sandwich, and a corned beef hash plate. What an amazing little cafe that turns out some utterly comforting dishes! Staff are super welcoming and efficient even though they were busy. Large serving portions, this place is definitely a one-meal a day kind of place, at least for me. My husband and I were in a food coma by 1pm. Green tea latte had a nice touch of green tea, not too strong with that bitter after taste. They offer free coffee refills. In addition to the few outdoor tables, there are also tables beyond the soda fountain machine which are not easily noticeable when you are standing in front of the register and they ask if you would like to sit inside or outside. On a random Friday morning, the parking lot is full because of this cafe. A tell-tale sign that they must be serving something delicious, and indeed they are even with the island vibes to boot! It was really relaxing and felt like I was back on the big island (without the price tag). Finally came here to try it out. Didn't know it kind of specialized in Hawaiian themed foods. I noticed that they had loco Moco so I was there ready to try it out. The location is in a strip center and be forewarned the parking is REALLY bad. You have a Starbucks that has cars lined up and the drive thru exits in to the skin parking area so if you can park a little further away and you shouldn't have a problem. There's snow seating inside as well as outside, it was a nice day out so we are outside. You order and pay at he register and pick a table(self seating) We had our trip girls with us and they got French toast with a side of scrambled eggs, wife got veggie omelet with home fries. And of course I got the loco Moco eggs over easy. Oh try the POG juice, it's a combo of pineapple, orange and guava juice, It's super tasty and definitely worth a try. Order was quick to come out nothing is worse than getting Luke warm food so that was nice we didn't have to wait long. The LM I ordered was good although I did have to add extra seasoning to it to sit my taste. Other than that it was great I didn't finish all the rice they gave because it was generous. If you're in the Corona/Norco/Eastgate area and don't want to go too far away from home to have breakfast/brunch give this place a try. I've always come here with my family before, but I recently went after a while and am glad the quality hasn't changed. I love everything here from savory to sweet. White lava pancakes and the captain crunch French toast is so good! Staff is friendly and timely as they can be. I like that you already pay for your food then sit down. I think it helps with wait times and overall service. Norco is a bit out of the way for me but I always enjoy myself when I come here. Also their drinks are delicious too! The place is pretty cool. I like the little homey vibe that's going on in here but I think the front counter and operations could change a bit. We ordered two similar loco loco plates and they mixed up our egg order somehow. Not major but annoying if you get uneasy to less cooked egg. The major part of this place is the coffee. I don't know if their coffee is burnt or stale but it is god awful. No amount of sweetener can fix that. The Strawberry green tea though, great selection. Hidden gem right here. On a whim we decided to try this Hawaiian breakfast joint and my o my I'm glad we did. You place your order at the counter and they'll bring you your food. We ordered the loco moco with white rice (fried rice was an option), biscuits and gravy, Belgium waffles, the Hawaiian latte and a cappuccino. The loco moco was delicious, huge portion, hamburger meat was tasty and so was the gravy, not too salty. Wish spam was served with it but otherwise 4/5 dish. Next, the biscuits and gravy was probably the BEST I've ever had, the biscuits themselves were soft and fluffy, the gravy was the highlight as they put Portuguese sausage in the gravy. It added a nice texture and flavor to the overall dish, 5/5. The waffle was airy and fluffy, which is how I like my waffles and the coffees topped off a perfect breakfast. Service was also amazing, especially the girl that took our order, she was super friendly and kind. We came across Scramblers Cafe and were convinced once we saw photos of the food, especially the spicy bacon chicken waffle! Upon arrival, it is a rather busy parking lot, but there's enough spaces to accommodate and to have a nearby walk. We parked closer to the middle and walked in, with a short wait. There was seating outside, but we opted to go in and while ordering, you'll see there is an expansive menu and the cashier will help you along if you're confused with their offerings. You do have to order before you're seat and once you order, they deliver the food to your table. We went for the island chilaquiles and spicy chicken bacon waffle, then added toast and a side of home fried potatoes. For drinks, we went with coffee and orange juice. It was a Sunday, so we knew it would be a bit busy, but the wait was not too bad and I would say it was like 10-15 minutes from ordering to sitting that we were eating. The spicy chicken bacon waffle is truly one of a kind, the way they layer the sauces, sugar, and the fullness of the waffle was incredibly good, you can eat it with or without syrup and still get a rich taste. As far as the chilaquiles, I was impressed because they have a island twist, which was apparent in the shredded pork and rice, but the beans tasted more Mexican. I absolutely loved the arrangement and wished I could've finished it, but it was a very good serving. My son didn't finish the waffle either, it's a BIG waffle! Lastly, the service was very good, and even though it is one of those order and seat dining, they serviced us as if they were are dedicated servers. This factors into the cost for me, which is a bit on the pricier end, but you're getting specialized food and overall a good experience. We will DEFINITELY return and recommend to others. read more

This is in a strip mall, with VERY limited parking. It is very crowded and hard to get into the parking lot. This was our first time at this restaurant. I do not understand all the positive reviews. Pricing, is too inflated for what you get. We had the Chicken Fried Steak ($15), it was small, gravy was not good, potatoes lukewarm and the biscuits and gravy were even worse. The other item was the Strawberry and Banana French Toast ($13). It came cold to the table. When they sent it back to the table, it was "warmer" but lacked flavor. The toast they use for this dish is very thin and not like a regular "thick" toast. Also, I was charged for a soda that I did nor order. They tend to rush you at the register as well. Had to let them know, and the cashier came off annoyed by it. One positive, for the 1 Star... we happen to notice that someone had a Spam Masubi, when we asked about it... it was not on the menu. This review is so long overdue. Scramblers has been my go-to breakfast/brunch spot since it opened. They have all your basic breakfast items like pancakes and eggs. They're pretty much known for everything else though. They have a good Loco Moco. For the more adventurous eaters, their fruity pebble French toast or banana macadamia nut pancakes are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth. My personal favorite is their spicy bacon chicken waffle. Imagine this: a thick, crispy Belgian waffle topped with a perfectly fried piece of chicken and thick-cut bacon. And then imagine all of that smothered in cheese, maple syrup and wait for it - spicy mayo. Just try it. You won't regret it. It used to be a locals only item on the "secret menu." I find that Hawaiian brunch spots never miss and this place had such an interesting menu that I knew I had to try it out for myself! I ordered the Spicy Chicken Bacon Waffle, Kalua Pork Plate, Garden Stuffed Crepes, Iced Green Tea Latte, and Pineapple Juice. The crepes did fall short for me and were quite dry, it didn't have enough hollandaise sauce. The waffle forsure packs a punch and the spicy mayo makes it stand out. The kalua pork was on the underseasoned side and we had to add some soy sauce to it. The matcha wasn't that matcha-tasting and I did see the pineapple juice be poured straight from a can. The juice did taste a little funky. At the end of the meal, we did have a lot left over since the portion sizes are quite large for the price you pay. For everything in total it was around $50. This was split amongst three people, but I do think it could've easily fed five. read more

For being a Hawaiian fusion place, I was kind of extremely disappointed that they don't have spam musubi. I thought I had ordered it here long ago but I'm mixing it up with other places that have it. Loco moco is forever a fan favorite which my bf ordered with spam,and I had the breakfast melt with spam and home fried potatoes. We dined inside and it wasn't too busy about 9 AM. Everyone around us ended up finishing and leaving by the time we got our food. It was a delicious hearty breakfast and left both of us pretty full and satisfied! Spam seemed like the "full sodium" type but only because we always only ever eat the low sodium cans at home. These just seemed saltier but no biggie. Everything went well together and I drowned mine in hot sauce. Staff is also no longer wearing masks (maybe except for one) and customers are free to be maskless as well. I tried this place for the first time based on my friend's boyfriend's recommendation! The place is especially bustling on a Saturday at 11 AM, but you definitely don't have to wait long before you get your delicious plate of food in front of you. While the weather is nice, I would probably recommend sitting inside rather than outside since I had some issues dealing with bugs floating by me.
