This place has been on my "to try" list for years, finally made the trip to try it after my brother went to Hawaii and seeing his pictures made me miss/crave some loco moco. Unfortunately I was very underwhelmed. Food - Eh. The loco moco gravy had no flavor and the burger was overcooked and dry. My husband loves ube so we also got the ube pancakes, not bad but not a fan of the shredded coconut inside, the texture is just a no for both of us. Drinks - my matcha latte was delicious so there's that! Ambiance- I was surprised this was an order when you walk in place but that's fine by me! Laid back vibe. Customer service - everyone was very nice and the food came fast I'm not going to say I would NEVER come back , but I think I would stick to an omelet or breakfast burrito. I came here for food, but I stayed for the world-class service from Sinnahy -- aka the Michelangelo of table service. I don't know if she moonlights as an Olympic sprinter, but my water glass never even thought about being empty. She didn't just bring my food; she presented it like a Michelin-star chef revealing their masterpiece. When I asked for extra napkins, she brought them with the grace of a Broadway performer hitting their final bow. At one point, I sneezed, and I'm pretty sure she handed me a tissue before the sneeze even finished. Time travel? Maybe. Pure skill? Definitely. If Yelp allowed more than 5 stars, I'd give her 17. Food was just ok. The pistachio pancakes sauce didn't taste at all like pistachio. They bought out two of our dishes and then 15 minutes later came back with the other two. So the initial dish's were cold by that time. Don't let them seat you at table 14- the lane from the bathroom has people staring at you the whole time. I also know it wasn't just a fluke. I've been to scramblers Cafe a few times and always has great food and service until my last visit. Unfortunately this visit was disappointing. I ordered the Kalua Pork Benedict and it was cold, like it had been sitting out before it made it to my table. Their iced ube matcha latte??? More like iced sugar milk topped with ube cold foam. What really ruined the experience during my last visit was witnessing the owner, Lily, speak rudely and disrespectfully to her staff in front of customers. It was uncomfortable to watch and left a bad taste in mine and my friends mouth. If thats how she treats her staff with people watching, I don't want to imagine how it is behind the scenes. All the other employees were great, minus the owner. I believe in supporting businesses that treat their employees well. Sadly, that wasn't the case here. Based on past visits and the food alone, I wouldve given this place a 4 out of 5 stars. But after this experience, I can't in good conscience recommend it. read more

This is a nice small Hawaiian brunch place we found in Norco. You first order your food before sitting down. They'll ask if you're dining in or take-out, and if dining in they'll point you to a table to sit. We got their Loco Moco & Spicy Chorizo Omelette with Fried Rice. Not a big fan of their Fried Rice (which is an extra $2.50) but the omelette was delicious. Flavor was good for the Loco Moco, but the homemade hamburger was a bit small for the amount of rice they provide though & only comes with 1 patty. They have a fountain drink station & water jugs you can bring back to your table which is very convenient. Once done, you can leave your plates on the table. Parking is really small, so I recommend parking on the side of Starbucks and not in front of the restaurant. Will try again because the Ube Coconut Pancakes caught my eye! read more

I stopped by Scramblers for brunch with a friend. This concept is affiliated with the Aloha Stacks restaurants and serves a similar Hawaiian inspired menu. When you arrive, you order at the counter, the server asks you if you want to dine in or to go, and then assigns you to a table where you go sit and wait for your food to arrive. You cannot change your assigned table (makes me feel like I'm at school), but I guess it's because they put it on your order so the staff knows where to bring your food. This method apparently works, because there's no one fighting for/saving tables, and the food came to our table pretty fast. We decided to share the Hawaiian omelette (subbed turkey sausage for the ham) and ube waffle. We also both got the Hawaiian latte. The Hawaiian omelette had pineapple in it, which sounds super weird (eggs & pineapple?!?!), but it was surprisingly good! The Ube Waffle came with a little container of coconut syrup - and like Aloha Stacks, they are skimpy with the syrup. Other than it being a shade of purple, and having tons of whipped cream on top, it didn't taste extraordinary. The Hawaiian latte was great, I loved the taste of the coconut milk mixed in! I was debating between giving this place a three star or four star. But I decided to lean more towards three stars because the service was really not it. As soon as we ordered, the worker seemed very in a rush to get us out of the way and not interested in actually serving. When we got there, there was no line and we walked straight up to the cash register and yet the staff at the register was still extremely in a rush when trying to take our order. The lady at the cash register didn't even look in the eyes and just kept looking down and said OK it's gonna take 30 minutes. I was disappointed in the service because I know that the food is normally pretty good. We ordered the fruity pebbles French toast and the loco mocha. The fruity pebble French toast was really great but not worth the price for how small the portion was. They only gave 4 half slices of French toast for $15. Definitely not worth the price. The food is tasty and not overly salted which is nice. I missed Portuguese sausage so much, so this was definitely a treat. I got POG juice and it mentally transported me back to Maui (praying for them) quick and in a hurry. If you've had it before in HI, you know the texture is a little on the thick side, and perfect. Same here! They have the doors open, so you have some flies that come to visit, but other than that it's a nice indoor outdoor spot with Hawaiian music and a bustling atmosphere. Scramblers is fantastic! I've been twice and each time was delicious. It wasn't busy, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and there is a lot of seating. It's clean and reasonably quiet. I've tried the loco moco, which was super tasty and filling, and the kalbi beef which was beautifully cooked, sweet but not too sweet. Their macaroni salad is great, as is the fried rice. This is our new to go brunch place. They always have great food and service! We love everything on the menu. Especially their pancakes our kid loves it!!! Was nearby for a youth softball tournament and stumbled on this spot. What a great place this is. Dropped in for breakfast Sunday morning and we beat the crowd at 8:30. Nice outdoor seating and a good amount of indoor seating too. It's still on the smaller side, very clean and friendly staff. The menu has lots of great options! It was hard to choose. Here's what we got: Breakfast Melt with ham and potatoes and the Breakfast Combo with scrambled eggs, bacon, potatoes, and wheat toast. Both were really good, the eggs were cooked perfect, the potatoes were nice and crispy on the outside, they use a really nice wheat bread for the toast, the sandwich had a good amount of ham and was nice and crispy. The only complaint was that the bacon was overcooked. I like crispy bacon but because it's a thick cut it gets hard instead of crunchy, but it still taste good. I mean...it's Bacon! I love that they had Chipotle Tabasco sauce! I've never had it and I love it! Mixed it with ketchup for my potatoes and it was delicious. The portion sizes are good and I definitely want to come back and try the Ube Waffle with strawberry & coconut (among other things!). read more

Yummy Hawaiian spot! I've been here a few times and the quality is always so great! I recommend the ube pancakes, loco moco, and the corned beef hash! I also tried the ube latte and it was good. Went here over the weekend to celebrate my son who got an award from school for a free kids breakfast. He absolutely is a breakfast connoisseur so he was happy to try Scramblers Cafe. Just an FYI for anyone coming for the first time, the cashier/hostess will assign you a table if you want to sit inside or outside. The tables have numbers on them for a reason (duh!), as I made this mistake and everyone was kicking us out of their tables lol. Anyway, check in first! I read the yelp reviews before hand, so I wanted to try to Portuguese sausage and the pork eggs benedict for my husband and myself. Both dishes were so delicious! The pork was so good and the benedict eggs were cooked to perfections. The sausage dish was your typical eggs, potatoes and sausage but it was so good! The potatoes were not anything fancy, but they were done so well that it was enjoyable to eat! My kids had the pancake kids breakfast with bacon and eggs, and both of them ate every single thing. I almost wish there was the cereal french toast or the oreo one on the kids menu, like a smaller portion, so they could have that but not spend so much on it. Directions: just off of the 15 fwy on the West side you exit 6th street , Norco head West then a left on Hamner then a quick left into the shopping complex. It is a very tight parking lot with not many spaces by the restaurant there are a couple of handicap spots in front however be aware they are accessed by a dead end with traffic coming out of a drive thru coffee shop. It is a very busy location but if walking is not an issue there is parking on the South end of the complex. Arrived at 11:00 on a Sunday and there was an inside line to the door which is common for this business. They do move the line thru very quickly. The cashier after taking your order will assign you a seating location inside or outside which ever you prefer. The menu is loaded with options so many that the overhead menu is difficult to read because the writing is so small in order to fit it all on the board. They have a hand held that you can use. I ordered the Pork Eggs Benedict and my wife tried the buttermilk pancakes and a side of bacon. See pics. The Eggs Benedict came with two eggs and half a plate of perfectly roasted red rose potatoes. The Benedict had a good portion of smoked, juicy and tender pulled pork with a perfectly cooked egg on top. The hollandaise sauce was very balanced and with the smokey flavor from the pork was a unique and very pleasant tasting experience. The buttermilk pancakes were very light and fluffy and had perfect flavor. The table was clean and there are a lot of servers moving around to assist you. They were all very friendly and even asked if I would like a coffee to go. read more

first of all, i have to thank the staff for being so kind and attentive to not just me and my family, but the other customers around too :) we were always being checked on to make sure everything was adequate and that everything with our experience was going good. as for the food, it was just as great! i ordered the chicken katsu and thoroughly enjoyed how crispy and well cooked it was, and the macaroni salad was incredible (!!!). my mom got the hawaiian bbq mix and she was especially a fan of the bee, and my dad got the loco moco. he basically cleaned the plate and was very satisfied with his meal :) for dessert, we had a strawberry-banana nutella crepe (thank you lily!!!) and it was DELICIOUS the inside of the cafe is perfectly sized. you don't feel cramped while eating and the way it's designed is very nostalgic if you've ever been to hawaii before. it feels very true! i cannot recommend this place enough :) (side note: this is for their ONTARIO location, but since they aren't on yelp yet, i figured i could leave a review on their norco one since i assume the experience would be similar!) read more

I would recommend the benedict over the omelette because the omelette was a little unseasoned. I had to add salt to make it taste good, but it was still yummy! The benedict tasted much better. The ube coconut pancakes were my favorite. It wasn't overly sweet, and the ube was subtle, yet the perfect amount. The coconut icing was a nice touch. I dream of those pancakes. Pricing is fair, service is fast and friendly. No complaints! I would recommend. I could see this place getting really busy on the weekends, as there isn't much seating.
