Love coming to Scratch Pizza...it's my go to when I'm craving pizza. Now they have cauliflower crusts, which is one of my favorites! Only eight carbs and one gram of sugar! Just know they only make so many for the day, so they might run out. The owner is so kind and really cares about his customers. So glad they're opening up a third location in Jurupa soon! I love you Scratch Pizza. I have been missing pizza for a while. Today my sister picked up the normal pizza and a cauliflower crust pizza. OMG. It was absolutely amazing. The crust was very similar to thin crust pizza. My family loved the traditional crust. Everyone said the crust was not sweet and baked to perfection. The sauce tasted homemade and the toppings were perfect. The chorizo was very flavorful. This is the review I gave it from one bite. I've had scratch pizza a few times. They're pretty good. At first I thought it was a chain moving into the area because they have a very professional look about them. Logos, custom boxes, fancy signs and website with online ordering. But they're not. They're a mom and pop trio of 3 restaurants(for now). If you have followed my other reviews, you'll see a trend. I review pepperoni pizzas. It's my favorite topping, and if you can't get this right, you should quit making pizza. The one pictured is actually triple pepperoni with basil and garlic butter crust. Why triple pep with basil? Cause they have a 4 topping special! Anyway, it's a good pizza. A little bit of a flop (keeps it out of the 7s) but great flavor. A little on the doughy side, but NOT and I repeat NOT the California "load it up with cheese" mess that many California pizza places do. The crust on the handle side has a nice crunch to it. If you ask for it well-done it will take a lot of the flop out. Really good sauce and they used over-sized pepperonis. Not quite deli counter sized, but about twice as big around as a regular hormel slice. The basil and garlic butter though are great add ons. Bonus review: they're one of the few places in the region that has PEPPERONI ROLLS. I love pepperoni rolls. Scratch Pepperoni Rolls are really good. The best I've had outside of western Pennsylvania/west Virginia. But there's a trick to ordering them. The plain pepperoni rolls I'd give the same as the pizza, 6.8. But ask for them to be brushed with garlic butter. Trust me. Garlic butter on these pepperoni rolls = 8.7. I haven't had pizza from their other two locations, but the pics I've seen indicate they maintain quality across all 3 spots, and with only 3 spots in fairly close geographical area, that should be easy to do. First and foremost, the cauliflower crust pizza did in fact taste good! However, it was a "personal" sized pizza as that's all they offer in the cauliflower crust style pizza. It was $10 with 2 toppings, I felt like they are over charging for such a small sized "personal" pizza at $10. Needless to say, I added extra toppings. Additional toppings are $2.00. I also ordered the Mediterranean salad, and it too was great tasting. The salad was a large sized salad, I was able to split that with 2 additional people, and two of us served ourselves seconds of the salad. The salad was $9, and I felt like they were generous for that price. And finally, I ordered the Garlic Knots, which were great tasting, and a decent size for the price of $5, but they were stingy with the marinara sauce, I had to ask for extra marinara sauce in order to have sufficient sauce the garlic knots. The service was okay, nothing special. They forgot to provide us with utensils. I had to get up and ask about forks for the salad. The cash register worker was nice, smiling, and thorough, so no complaints there. All in all the food was good tasting. But I believe they are being a bit too pricey for what you get in return. A bit more customer service would help. And if they either lower their prices, or provide you with more quantity/items for the price, then I would rate them above a 3 star rating. I can't say I would go back voluntarily. If someone was to desire visiting this place then ok yes, I would go because of their request, but I would not go as a voluntary decision of my own. Not a very good pizza being Italian and all I know it tastes good. I would not recommend this place. The host really did not know his restaurant. Went here on a friend's recommendation, glad I did. Solid pizza, not too thin, fresh ingredients, soft crust and the price is right. The staff is helpful and the pizza was ready right when they said it would be. About 40 bucks for about 4 extra large pies of assorted toppings. See the pictures for a couple of the pizzas we ended up getting. Lots of head nods when people at the party were eating, no complaints :) I was digging the pepperoni/sausage pie. It definitely has reheatability too if you're gonna fridge it and take it for lunch the next day, which is a big factor for me. I'm a big leftover pizza fan and Scratch has it covered on that front. As of May 2020, I had NEVER heard of this place! Ever lol and then one day I called in to a radio station contest- Might as well say it, KOLA 99.9 my favorite (our only) Local radio station gave me some gift cards for this place. LUCKY ME! I had just lost my job, so the timing of free food was nice. But not only that, their pizza is great! We have been twice trying new things and each time we love what we got and we enjoy it enough to talk about what we are going to try the next time we return! My husband is not currently eating meat and they have a very unique all vegan pizza that he tried and enjoyed. I love that the employees were willing to top just one slice of pizza with an unusual sauce that we both wanted to taste but not commit to. lol Thanks so much for that. Little side note to any management if you are reading this- you have plenty of wonderful outside possibility for dinning if you just set up a few easy ups and drag out a few tables. Why are you not utilizing that?? (during the pandemic when all walk in, sit down restaurants are mandatory take out only) I grew up in La Sierra and feel a special connection to the area still, plus I am lucky enough to not live that far away from it now.
