I have been wanting to come here for awhile . I chose Scribles for Mother's Day and did not disappoint at all . The staff was energetic and she made delicious drinks . The sandwiches so so good. I had the turn . Hubby got the Italian and daughter got the turkey pesto. They are huge so no worries about still being hungry. The decor loved the small and funky Eugene vibe. We will be hitting this place in near future again! Yummmm!

Love this place! I love when a restaurant tells you to slow down and not rush. You can tell the owner/chef loves his craft and makes each sandwich with love. The restaurant itself is cozy and quaint and service was excellent. It has a vibe that you are at grandma's house. They have a vegetarian option that is both unique and tasty! Their hoagie rolls are amazing.

Sandwiches are huge!! And kind of hard to eat... but they are good! Loved the bread. We had to wait quite a long time to get our food. There weren't many people there but it looked like only 1 cook. I think the trick is to order ahead if you can!

Saw a video on TikTok and decided me and a co-worker needed to try this place. My sandwich was delicious. And huge. Tons of meat. I can't believe I'm suggesting people go buy a $20 deli meat sandwich. But here I am. It was very good. I'm not from around this area so parking seems to be an issue wherever I go. So I won't criticize them to hard for that. But I will warn you the place is tiny. Like crazy tiny and seating may very well be an issue if you don't hit your timing just right. But it's easy enough to eat it in your car.

Was staying nearby, walked over and got the Philly which was HUGE with tons of meat. Loved the bread and good quality meat with cheese. This ithe sandwich for meat lovers! The Hubbs loved it, I was missing the hot & sweat peppers. Small restaurant with outdoor seating when the weather is good and located in an older neighborhood from the 1930. Great neighborhood location where you can grab a drink some food and visit.

Amazing sandwiches, ambience, and friendly service. Everything is made in a small kitchen so it may take a while but it is so worth the wait! Go hungry because the portions are huge!

The Jeter. This sandwich was absolutely delicious! So big it barely fits in the to go box.

By a wide margin, these are the best sandwiches in town! And the guys behind the counter are the greatest! Friendly, professional, making killer sandwiches. If you haven't been here yet, you are missing out.

Wow! I can't believe we had never been here. Always heard good things and came for the first time today, and wow! The sandwiches are incredible. The ambience is nice, a little hectic but it seemed like they were much busier than usual. My partner and I are never ones to have leftovers, but trust the other reviewers! You can absolutely share one we were stuffed after the first half. We will be back with friends!

Two remaining halves of our sandwiches: hubs removed the produce from his for reheating purposes. Ham Grinder and Club

The decor feels arbitrary and hasn't grown in the 3 years between my visits. The bartop is tiny despite plenty of wide open space in the venue, adding to that empty feeling. But it's the only tiki bar for miles and it has a unique tiki + horror theme that I appreciate: emphasizing creepy mugs, playing vintage Godzilla on the TV, and a collection of drinks named after monsters. They also have custom mugs for sale, which is always awesome to see. My partner enjoyed her Chinese Mai Tai, but my Bride of Frankenstein tasted like light cream. The service was good. They were professional and personable and bantered well with everyone around the bar. There seemed to be plenty of regulars making the rounds in the early afternoon. So if you're in Eugene and want a tiki drink, this is the place to go.

DRINKS: 7/10 SERVICE: 10/10 AMBIANCE: 10/10 What we ordered: Lemon & Ginger Mule Key Lime Rum Cocktail DRINKS: 7/10 The Lemon & Ginger Mule was fascinating and part of their Shrub specialty menu, which is a sweet-and-tart drinking vinegar made from fruit, sugar, and vinegar, created to preserve fruit. Definitely an acquired taste, but I loved the creativity behind it. The Key Lime Rum Cocktail was bright, refreshing, and perfectly balanced, with a tropical twist that was smooth and flavorful without being overly sweet. SERVICE: 10/10 The bartender serving us was friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciated how they explained some of the more unique cocktails and helped me pick something adventurous. She was a vibe for sure and seemed to be vibing with the other customers as well. AMBIANCE: 10/10 Crow & Cart nails that "handcrafted neighborhood bar" feel. Some of the other reviews were negative on their food...but our food was fantastic. The burgers were moist and not greasy. The waffle cut fries were hot and crispy. The bartenders work non stop to get your drinks and food out quickly. My daughter loved the churro style donuts (but they are messy). The decor is a D&D dive bar scene....so many things to look at as you wait for bingo to start. They just changed the rules and you do have to pay $1.00 per person to play bingo...but where else can you get that type of entertainment for a dollar. We can't wait to return.

At one point, the bartender disappeared for approximately fifteen minutes, leaving several patrons waiting without acknowledgment. When she finally returned, she casually mentioned she had been on a personal phone call. A second woman then stepped behind the bar, immediately clarifying that she was not, in fact, a bartender. When I expressed concern about the extended absence and lack of service--something I would consider standard feedback in any hospitality setting--I was abruptly told I was "speaking badly" about the staff and was asked to leave. This kind of defensiveness and disregard for patrons is deeply unprofessional, especially for an establishment that positions itself within a community where communication, accountability, and mutual respect are paramount. Eugene has a growing nightlife and alternative culture scene, and many people--locals and visitors alike--expect spaces that uphold those values. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend The Serpent & the Sparrow. There are other venues in town that offer a far more welcoming environment, competent service, and a genuine respect for their patrons.

He sorted me out pretty quickly and then I faced my next wonderful obstacle: an amazing concession stand with a very understanding vendor who had two different kinds of kombucha on tap, chilled brut rosé, several beers ranging from a Pilsner to a stout, several kinds of wine including Pinot noir and Cabernet Savignon, popcorn with real butter, frozen junior mints, whoppers, peanut M&Ms... everything good was there. Give yourself a few extra minutes to decide what you want to nosh on -- just don't pass up such a great selection. The movie was showing in theater B which was across the courtyard, really lovely few steps between buildings. The chairs were very comfortable inside theater to B and the drink holders wide enough to hold the mason jar that my kombucha came in. Yep a real glass -- none of the paper or plastic stuff -- love that. But maybe the best part was the audience who was clearly queuing to many of the lines and laughed at all the right places. The vibe was a lot like a familiarity that you encounter when you watch the Rocky horror picture show: lots of audience knowledge and appreciation expressed throughout the film, which made the movie even better. I really like this venue and the set up they have. There's also free parking to the side of the building. Support this business. It's a treasure.

The Skybar is located on the 5th floor of the building along with the Hotel lobby... uh okay. The staff are all very pleasant and accommodating. We went to the SkyBar and found it to be a smallish yet convenient place to wait for guests or visitors along with getting a drink or a bite to eat. The bar looks like it can accommodate about 30 people in the interior. There is a nice outdoor patio that can easily accommodate more when the weather is nice. The barkeeper was very attentive and observant, he took our food and drink requests at the bar and in short order, everything was presented. I had a Moscow Mule that I found to be a refreshing drink. Ginger beer, lime and vodka. An excellent combination. I also had an order of the chicken wings and fries. The fries were a normal shoestring variety, cooked well, nicely salted and came in a metal bowl. The wings I found to be outstanding! I don't usually get wings this well made unless I do it myself. I received 8 wings coated with barbecue sauce on a charcuterie board with the fries. The wings were served nicely hot. The meat was piping hot, juicy and tender. The barbecue coating was a hearty middle of the road sauce, not sweet or too smoky. It was caramelized perfectly for that sticky texture and flavor. Definitely a nice coating. Thankfully the bartender brought us a lot of napkins. The wings and fries made for a satisfying meal. The bar boasts a couple of gas fireplaces that make for a warming environment with a few semi private tables. There is a longer table for a larger group as well as several smaller tables and a few bar stools for game watching. All in all we found the bar to be a cozy semi-private environment, yet available to the guests as they come and go. All around, a nice meeting area and watering hole. We will book our family members for a stay here at the hotel. I'm looking forward to trying more of their specialty drinks.
