I don't come here often, but it's a good place for good food. I used to visit their Carlsbad Village location, but this was my first time visiting their Oside location. Today I brought my coworkers who were visiting from out of town. This location has a nice seating area, indoor and outdoor. There are TVs to watch random games or videos. I chose to eat a fajita bowl with their vegan choriqueso. It had a lot of flavor altogether. They offer all vegan options, but i asked to keep the crema and (Mexican shredded) cheese in the bowl. Their red and green salsas are spicy! I like them both, but chose to smother my bowl with the salsa Verde. They also served us a platter of tortilla chips and enjoyed eating the remnants of my bowl's rice and beans eith the chips. My table also enjoyed their food. One ordered the shrimp Diablo burrito and commented it was whoo-ee spicy. Another ordered a shrimp fajita bowl and also agreed there's a lot of flavor. Another requested the birria tacos with chicken instead. Graciously, the chef in the back agreed to cook it the way the customer requested which I thought was awesome (my coworker doesn't eat red meat, but wanted the birria flavors). If you've never been, I recommend checking it out.

Weekend brunch and football on every TV? Yes, please. I've also been for dinner and baseball games and it's just taking me a little bit of time to actually leave a review Señor Grubby's is such a fun little surprise spot, especially where it's located in Oceanside . For this visit, we went on a Sunday for brunch, which is the first time I had come for brunch, but we knew that they played football on the TV so we figured we'd check it out. It wasn't overly crowded, which made it even better, and they had solid breakfast specials going while the games were on. We ordered the breakfast burrito and an omelette and both were really good quality and hit the spot. My son was all about the chocolate chip pancakes, which were fluffy, sweet, and definitely kid-approved. This place feels like a hidden gem where you can grab a relaxed brunch, watch football, and actually enjoy yourself without the crowd. You order up at the counter and patio is dog friendly. Chips are also made to order so they come out nice and hot. We also enjoy the salsa bar they have, I really like their hot carrots!

Yikes. It was pretty bad. I looked up vegan option in the Oceanside area and ended up here during a holiday, though wasn't sure of their hours but it we got there about 40 minutes before it closed. We were met with: "the cook is coming back soon, he went to take out the garbage." Which was foreshadowing to how garbage the food was going to be. lol He made the food in about 3-5 minutes and you could tell he just threw some ingredients together really fast and warmed the food up. It's really unfortunate that this was the worst burrito and bowl That I've had in the past 12 months. He put on a ton of jalapeños, but barely any cheese. It was just overwhelmingly Littered with poop pickled jalapeños. It wasn't all on the cook, but bartender was nice, but the host definitely seemed like she was checked out for the day and wasn't interested. I hope this place gets better. It's unfair to have this kind of service & be charging $20 for a sad defeated burrito snd the same for the bowl. Good luck. HNY

Great food!! Found them on yelp based off of their stars and they did my disappoint. Their breakfast was amazing and they have top shelf tequila (not the commercial top shelf), like Don Fulano and Fortaleza. Don't be shy, check them out!!

First time trying this place out. We were hungry and didn't want to wait too long for our food. Señor Grubby's delivered. We were the only ones in line and waited not more than 15 mins for our food. They have indoor and outdoor seating. We snagged a seat outside and had it all to ourselves. The service was good. Cashier was nice and attentive, brought out our food and gave us paper towels since we didn't have any napkins outside. We didn't order any drinks but the ones I saw on menu looked good! They have tables, booths and a bar area inside, along with TVs playin sporting games and a bathroom for customers. The burritos were minimum $15 which I think is a bit pricey for what they are but if I come back it would be to try the drinks or happy hour!

Been going here for awhile and from when I started coming when it first started the food quality has been going down. If this was my first burrito I would've given this one one star. I paid $18 for a philly cheesesteak "burrito" only to get a few sprinkles of meat and a load of peppers and onions. Who ever created this item either needs to take a trip to philly or hire new staff because this is probably the worst menu item currently on the menu. On top of that new staff are rude and will just ring up your food without a thank you or you're welcome even if you say thank you first after ordering. Salsa good though...

We come here all the time! Love all the burritos and especially the Al pastor pork tacos! Soooo good. Great spot to drop by for some casual Mexican food.

Been coming here for the past 5 years and this is my must stop by place! Love the service, food and vibe out here. I think its family owned and its really good. Try their burrito!

The food was good and big portions but the place is very modern I guess it's good for the younger generation. We are old fashioned and we like more family style dining. Other than that the restaurant was very clean, the workers were very nice and the servers were checking on us all the time. The price was also reasonable.

This place is awesome !! Prices are unreal during the padres games and happy hour. Amazing vibe with tons of space. Blane and Rio some of our favorite bartenders! Come root on the padres and have some great drinks for a great price PS love the carnitas tacos and hot dogs

This was my first time in Oceanside, and I was looking for a good Mexican restaurant near the pier. I checked out a few spots, but many had unusual menus or seemed more focused on beer than food. I came across this restaurant and it looked promising. The cashier was friendly, the menu was straightforward, and I was especially impressed by the amount of wheelchair-accessible seating. As someone who uses a power wheelchair, accessibility is non-negotiable--and this place had more than enough space. Several wheelchair users could easily dine here at the same time, which is rare and appreciated. I ordered the three-taco platter with carne asada tacos, which comes with a side. I found the side options a little odd--beans and rice, fries, or chips. Chips and salsa are usually complimentary at Mexican restaurants, so offering them as a side felt off. And fries? That just didn't feel authentic. With a fountain drink, my meal came to about $19. The food arrived quickly. I asked for green salsa, which wasn't ready at the time, but it was brought out shortly after. The plate wasn't deep, so I could immediately tell the portion size. The refried beans were thin and watery, lacking the rich texture I expected. The rice looked and tasted like a generic boxed mix--more like Rice-A-Roni than homemade Mexican rice. When I tried the tacos, I was disappointed. While the ingredients were technically correct, the flavor just wasn't there. It felt like the recipe hadn't been crafted by someone with a real connection to Mexican or Latino cuisine. The food wasn't terrible, but it definitely needs improvement. The same care and attention that went into accessibility and customer service should be applied to the food. Right now, the flavors are falling short. I'd only recommend this place to someone who's unfamiliar with Mexican food--maybe from Nebraska or Alaska--who's hesitant to try something bold or authentic.

My husband and I stopped in to Frankie's on a recent Saturday at 5pm. Our kiddo had a performance down the street at 6pm so we had a little time to kill beforehand. The neighboring spots looked busy so we decided to go with Frankie's, seeing as they were less inundated at the time and we had a time constraint. Another allure was the sandwich board at the front door advertising discounted cocktails - sold!! Inside there were a handful of patrons at the bar, another table with two additional patrons and maybe a couple on the patio so it was fairly quiet and slow, so it looked promising. We headed up to the bar and hung out behind two empty barstools, the single female bartender greeted us and said she'd be right with us, but then continued chatting up the seated patrons, serving them and their friends that had just joined (AFTER we'd arrived). We moved a little further down to the handoff area where she was making drinks to save her having to come back to us again, and stood there for probably 10 minutes while she took orders and made all the drinks. We commented that she looked like she could definitely use a hand, and she said they were still adjusting into summer hours and determining whether more coverage was needed at this time - I figured 5pm on a Saturday should be primetime, so I'm not sure in what universe having a single bartender makes any sense. Finally we placed our cocktail orders, waited while they were made, and then put our card down for the tab. After we'd paid, I noticed the cocktails were more expensive than advertised on the sandwich board out front - I couldn't find a disclaimer anywhere that said only certain cocktails were included, so while it was a bummer I wasn't about to wait another 10-15 minutes to catch her attention and ask for clarification. Just a heads up to beware of whatever is advertised that might summon you in from the sidewalk, and make sure you ask before you make your selection. Drinks were very subpar, nothing special to write home about. While I can appreciate the Gatsby-esque vibe they're trying to uphold at Frankie's, they really should increase their staffing especially during prime weekend and evening hours, and be more transparent about their specials and what's included and what's not. Hindsight is 20/20, and the low volume of patrons when everything else around it was going off was probably a sign, so we'll skip Frankie's our next go around.

I simply wanted to ask what he was serving and clarify the seating/pool arrangement, including any differences for hotel guests versus outside visitors. Instead of answering or letting me finish a single sentence, Eric repeatedly talked over me, curtly stating it was "sold out" with no explanation. When I tried to understand what exactly was sold out (the hotel, the pool, the rooftop bar, or seating), he continued interrupting and directing me to the hostess stand. He even scolded me that he had already repeated himself four times, while adding that I wasn't asking the question that mattered although he never let me finish a sentence. The entire interaction felt dismissive and almost hostile and condescending (insinuating I can't understand because of my ethnicity and that he was actively trying to make me leave rather than provide basic service or information) It was especially disappointing on a holiday when hospitality standards should be at their best.
