The takeout window has a special menu off to the right side of Caribbean curries and other dishes. We came back that night and were rewarded with some of the best food we had on the island. The chicken was so tender it fill off the bone, sauces were rich and flavorful without being too spicy. We tried Festival, which is a bread that is a little sweet, and found it good for dipping in the sauces. Everything was excellent. Give it a try, it is like a hidden secret on Nantucket.

Overpriced. Rude. Not a participant in the community. Next to a gas station on a busy road. One cannot say less about a restaurant that deserves very less patronage from anyone with a brain and heart. Tonight an island friend who is very philanthropic to island causes tells me that, upon calling this place, a very overwrought and nasty hostess said 'We're in the middle of service, I don't care what you want, call back". Great! You should close your doors because you don't deserve any patronage on our beautiful island! Sea Grille apparently translates to grilling patrons for their money with very little value! Ah yes.... while we appreciate that Seagrille stays open year-round, we're sad that it has slipped so badly from the quality it used to have. The food is mediocre with an occasional good special. Unless you are there during one of their winter specials, the prices are just too high for a place like this. You're better off going to Dune or to Centre Street Bistro off-season, and during the summertime there are dozens of better places to eat on Nantucket! BTW, Rob, it's the Inquirer & Mirror (not Yesterday's) who gives out the Best Of awards, and those "votes" are easily manipulated! Don't trust them! read more

Something is off about sea grille this year, and in a bad way. The service was good, but every aspect of the food was bad. Undercooked or overcooked, poor tasting, just bad all around. Too many options here to give it another shot. You can't charge Nantucket prices for this food. I am afraid sea grille is the one restaurant on the island that is happy to be packed every night and making money, regardless of quality of the food. read more

I ordered risotto with chanterelles, asparagus and fresh greens: what arrived was bowl of bland, soupy rice that somehow managed to be both mushy & undercooked. Two of our party ordered the halibut which was so doused in unnecessary accoutrements that this delicate, wonderful fish was lost (and also slightly overcooked), the last member of our group ordered "a Greek preparation" of lamb that arrived like a gummy block of scrapple (today, we noticed it had been pulled from the menu, thank goodness!). It was practically inedible. The two starters were passable, but nothing to write home about and, needless to say, we opted to skip dessert. The bill for this meal was hefty and didn't deliver in any way. The only positive moment was when we asked for the excessively bright lighting to be dimmed down (we were blinded) and we were kindly accommodated.
