If I was living in Seaford I'd eat a bagel from Seaford Bagels probably everyday. I spent only two days in Seaford and I was there each morning for breakfast. Despite their incredible varieties of cream cheese I ordered both time the classic cream cheese with fresh salmon. The first time I had a plain classic toasted bagel, the second time I had one of their beautiful rainbow bagel (see picture below). This bagel was so colourful...it was beautiful, in London they start to have rainbow bagels but there are not as good as the Seaford's bagel shop. The bagels were both time very good. This place is great. What a find! And in Long Island of all places. Did a search with handy dandy yelp ap and this gem popped up. Fresh bagels of all varieties, even some that I never heared of or imagined. Cream cheeses of all varieties. I came in here hoping for a bagel with jalapeño cream cheese. Not only did they have that but some I never seen before like coconut cream cheese and chocolate chip cream cheese. I was amazed. Their effort is definitely respected. The bagels themselves were good as well. My everything bagel wasn't exactly hot out of the oven as their sign indicated but I can forgive them for that. It was delicious enough. Bonus points for having seating and bathroom. If I am ever in this area again I would definitely come back here. read more

But these are some damn tasty bagels. We always stop here on Sunday mornings when up visiting the other's fam. It makes the drive on the Belt Parkway almost bearable knowing these bagels are waiting for us. We slice them up and freeze them as soon as we get back home, so deliciousness is only a toast away. Tried to go here. Called to place an order and the person who picked up said they are busy. I asked if that means they don't do pick up (it's a bagel store) and she said well we are busy so can you hold then. I said of course. She left the phone on the counter not on hold while she chatted and hummed songs and laughed with other employees. I then walked in and the customer ahead of me on line tried to order 2 sandwiches and she said "we are busy and can only make one at a time". Stopped by here to pick up a few bagels before my weekly softball league games. This place was a random stop and I must say the long line almost out the door proved why this place is so busy. With so many offerings, great smiling service and good prices, the bagels here are simply amazing. Even though, I got the plain and the tie-dye bagels toasted with butter, they were delicious. They have an extensive menu with cream cheese spreads, assortment of salads and meat offerings which can be added to bagels for unique sandwich ideas, while I waited on the line for some time, I have to admit I was incredibly tempted to buy and try some amazing offerings. Seaford bagels is a place that I've been coming to for 15 years. It's a place that I've spent most of my Sunday mornings for breakfast over those last years. The staff was always extremely friendly, and the bagels and all their food were always great. Unfortunately I will no longer be going here. Over the past year or so I've been treated rudely, and it seems to me that they almost don't care that you give them your business. Today was the final straw for me. I called up to place an order and was hung up on. I called back and was hung up on again. The third time I called a women answered very rudely. I asked if they were still making eggs, she responded with "yea" I then asked may I place an order to pick up and she responded with "we don't take orders, you have to come in" I then drove to the store and arrived about 5-10 minutes after the call I placed (I live three blocks away) As I went to place my order they told me they are not making eggs anymore. I replied that I just called and was told that you were. A younger man then answered me," im sorry we just closed the grill and we are closing soon". I then asked, you do not take orders over the phone anymore? He replied, "no, we are to busy for that" (mind you their were 3 people in the place at this time) I decided just to grab a cup of coffee and leave. I waited for 5 minutes at the counter to pay while at least 5 workers walked past me and didn't say a thing. I then politely asked a women if she could ring up my cup of coffee. She did ring me up but it seemed as if I was bothering her. I understand the the times we are in are rough but your customers should always come first. I own a pizzeria , so I understand what's it's like to be in a fast pace take out environment. I'm really not one to leave reviews or complain. It really takes a lot for me to complain about a place, but after today I was so turned off. This place was always a 5 star establishment but now it's a 1-2 at best. Please don't waste your time like I just did!!!! Let's start by saying the have young girls that have NO CLUE what they are doing... My thing is that you have to learn somewhere with everything, but I also think that new hires need proper training... The kid I just dealt with who didn't look as day over 15 was just hung out to dry obviously!!! My order is pretty simple, can't really screw it up and she has no idea what she was doing... Actually looked like a deer in headlights.... I then asked her to change her gloves after observing her and everyone else handle money and then touch food which is a health code violation.. Aside from the obnoxious attitude, she knowingly tried to charge me again for my drink (after I just paid in full for my whole order)....The prices are already outrageous to begin with... That being said I told her to forget about the whole thing and I walked out without getting my money back for the bagel and drink I never received.... It was worth the 7.85 to not get sick from contaminated food... Maybe if the place was run with some guidance of another person over the age of 20yo they would be in better shape... Very disappointed this morning. Asked for a bacon egg & cheese bagel and it was ok. Received more bacon bits rather than actual bacon. My main gripe is with the egg white and turkey omelet I ordered. When I got home we opened everything up and it was egg whites and cold turkey placed on top. The young lady who took the order clearly got it right. It looks like the person cooking couldn't care less and just threw cold turkey on top once they realized they didn't make the requested omelette. I primarily grew up in the South and never really liked bagels - UNTIL that fateful day my Long Island native fiance introduced me to the bagel place he grew up with. I save up my breakfast bread carbs all year anticipation of a Seaford Bagel. Fresh, with a perfect consistency - soft inside and chewy outside, served toasted or not. I pulled up to the "Hot Bagels" sign and already knew I would probably like this place. It was quite bustling being a weekend morning - but I loved how it had all sorts of patrons - older couples sat around drinking their coffee/bickering/reading Newsday, and tons of neighborhood kids and parents waiting in line. Ordered the poppy and everything bagel with regular cream chee - Taste and texture were amazing. Not too hard or soft, and perfect luscious bagel taste without being too salty or bland. Nice local Bagelry that is a happening spot in the morning. Big variety of bagels and flavored creme cheeses to suit most anyone. Coffee station is self serve. I walked in wanting lox and a shmear and was told they ran out of lox! Would that ever happen at Bagelman or Bagel Boss of Merrick? Town Bagel in Plainview ? Me thinks not. THE WORST. Never ever again. First of all idk where they get their rolls but they should consider a new Baker. I ordered an onion roll and it is flavorless and doesnt have onion. It's a regular roll with onion flakes. Regardless the service in this place is horrific! The staff stands around talking about their personal lives and eating while theres a line out the door. The 2 girls stood there talking about dance class while there was 10 people waiting to order. I didnt even want to give her my order when she finally got around to asking me because I felt like I was interrupting her chit chat with her friend. Then after the took my order touched her face a few times and then made my food....gross. then while I was waiting for my food covered in her face juices I noticed a box behind the counter for cell phones....she then stopped went in the box took out her phone sent a few texts and then proceeded to continue to touch my food! I was in the area and decided to try this place based on everyones reviews. Around 11 am and I was 2nd on line I ordered a toasted egg bagel with butter on the side and 2 fried eggs..... pretty common and simple order. What I received were 2 eggs so overcooked there wasn't any wet yolk left and a plain bagel, which I didn't order, that was toasted after a load of butter was placed on it so all the butter was melted into the plain bagel and also soaking wax paper. I brought it back to request again a toasted egg bagel with butter on the side. I received a partially burnt bagel I can now try to enjoy with my overcooked, dry eggs. This is a pretty regular bagel store, nothing special or even particularly good or bad about the food. The staff is incredibly rude, however, and it's very consistent. I've been going into this bagel store for decades (moved right nearby in the early '90s), but it's gotten to the point where I'll drive to the next town over for breakfast. I get that they're busy and it's a hard job, I've worked similar jobs myself... but that's not an excuse to be rude to everyone. The older staff should know better at least. read more

But seriously, there is nothing like a New York Bagel. And Long Island does it well! This place in particular is always packed pretty much any time of the day. On the weekends, expect a line out the door. I ran a 5k recently and thought I would reward myself with the ultimate bagel combo: Toasted Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with Cream Cheese (And on my own, I added grape jelly.)
