Solid lunch spot. We tried the boogie nights pizza here and it was cheesy and simple. The fried chicken did add some nice texture but it's mostly a gimmick. The flavors weren't too mind blowing and it was a little greasy but it was still good pizza. We also had the cacio e pepe fritters which I did not enjoy at all. They were dry and the texture was off. I am such a fan! This place takes me back to a neighborhood bar and diner in the 70s (wasn't around back then but the nostalgia is real!) Pizza is great..pasta is amazing and their fried chicken?!?!?!?! What?! Incredible. You know it's good when everyone no matter what age or ethnicity raves about their chicken. From the moment you enter the service is wonderful, and people that work here really make an effort to give a welcome feeling. The parking in the area is a bit challenging but there is plenty of seating inside. The menu is great, and the portions/ prices are surprisingly good for the area. We have tried everything on the menu and not one time have we been disappointed. But the one thing that really makes his place stand out is Lo! I believe that is the restaurant manager. Everyone was so kind and our waiter had the best recommendations and we loved him! Then the food. Y'all aren't ready. If I could sum up our experience on an early Friday evening dinner, it would be amazing. Very dark inside but everyone on staff literally lit the whole restaurant. They quickly sat us. They have bar, covered patio with heat and inside the restaurant as seating options. Our server was amazing, very efficient which helps when you have a kid on hand. He was attentive and so nice. The food was on the salty side but very flavorful. We got the fried chicken and pepperoni pizza. The fried chicken was super moist inside and very well seasoned inside! The outside was crispy but like mentioned earlier, a bit salty. The pizza was filled with pepperoni cups which I think was why it was on the saltier side too. This place was simply amazing! Let's first start with the service. The staff here was super nice and understanding. All of their recommendations were really good. My friends, and I had a large party (which we know can be a bit overwhelming) but the experience was still very good. We went on a Sunday for brunch, and everyone was completely satisfied with their food. I sampled a little bit off of everyone's plate, so unfortunately, I don't know all of the names, but everything was really tasty and fresh. I will definitely go back! We sat outside, but everything is super cute out there and it's right by the water so afterwards you could take pictures if you would like. Brand new addition to the space once occupied by Edith's Bistro and it's a good one. They are still on opening week but we left very satisfied with our overall experience. The theme is refined 70s! Lots of vinyl, a lava lamp when you enter etc the menu is very interesting and not your usual fare you see all over the DFW. We started off with the Focaccia with whipped ricotta and pepper jam and this dish was just fantastic. The bread was crispy, the ricotta was good (wish there was a little more) and the pepper jam was a nice way to cut through all the richness. For our entrees, we opted for the half bird which came out piping hot without being greasy. Only complaint would be that the batter was a tad bit salty and needed some dilution with the 2 dipping sauces. Hopefully something they can fix once they get settled in. We also got the pep'd up pizza which was huge !!!! And easily shared. Came with tons of pepperoni cups and bacon. A meat lovers dream! We also tried the Brussels chopped salad which was a nice way to cut through all the richness of the other dishes. Cocktails were not bad. The banana bread old fashioned was interesting. The atmosphere and ambiance was very nice. We enjoyed our window seats. We went to the late night happy hour and had the Frozen Long Island iced tea drink, it was a delight. Its so good the menu indicates there's a 2 drink maximum. Let me break down the food the chicken was fried very well extra crispy the batter on the chicken was very very salty the chicken meat was not seasoned I guess they're depending on the flavor from the batter to capture a taste of the chicken. There was so much batter on the chicken I had to remove it to eat the meat. The restaurant should consider advising the customer that the chicken is heavily seasoned and give them an option to change it to light seasoning. I like salt but it was too much for my palate. potato wedges were simply amazing and the Caesar salad only needed a little more dressing which we were able to ask for that. Since it was our first time I was reluctant to send the chicken back , if we return again I will send the chicken back and ask for light seasoning. Overall it was a good date night but the chicken was TOO SALTY!! read more
