We had dinner both nights at this resort during our weekend stay and loved it! We had been here before with friends that are members but due to the fact you can only dine here if you are a member or a guest staying on property, seating is limited and reserved. The dining room overlooks the ocean and they have a beautiful fish aquarium. It's so pretty! We were warmly greeted by Sevia (hoping I spelled her name correctly) but she was lovely. So prompt to welcome us, get our drink orders and talk to us about the menu. After ordering a few adult drinks, we had a nice bread and butter presentation. We started with a shared salad with modifications which was crisp and refreshing. The hubby decided on a steak entree for his dinner selection and I chose a pasta with marinara sauce. Everything was great! After our meal, we went to the bar in the same restaurant for some delicious dessert martinis! A great experience! I would come here every week if I could! read more

Located in the luxurious ponte vedra club grounds the seahorse grill is a wow dining experience. With floor to ceiling windows and ocean views the location stands out on its own. Fine dining and world class service make the meal a wonderful spot to celebrate any occasion- I recommend trying to time your meal to a sunset if possible. Their steaks are incredible and the creamed spinach side had everyone eager to order a second round. A true gem! read more

We came for dinner on Super Bowl Sunday. A beautiful spot in an amazing resort property. I got the 2-pound lobster with infused lobster mashed potatoes and she got the rib eye with roasted Brussels sprouts and we both ordered wine. We got the chocolate mousse and cappuccino after dinner. I really like the limited menu. Straight and to the point. If you like fish, you will love it here. I was actually very impressed by this place. Seahorse Grill has not been on my radar but when a group went for dinner, I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. I started with the baby greens salad which came with blueberry balsamic vinaigrette and mango. The vinaigrette had just the right amount of sweetness and I enjoyed the blueberries that were topping the salad, as well as the pecans. Mango slices were served underneath. They were great for just a little added texture and freshness. As a lover of bread, I enjoyed the warm bread basket. After enjoying our salads, hot rolls, straight out of the oven, appeared at the table. The butter just melted effortlessly in them. For my entrée, I had the snapper with tasso ham, collard greens, and a chili cream sauce. I wanted to taste the fish by itself so I asked for the sauce on the side and they were happy to comply with this request. The snapper was lightly grilled and very flaky. The star of the show, however, was the vegetable underneath. The greens had a little bit of sweetness to them and they had a nice crunchiness. I thought they were very well prepared. All of the desserts sounded fantastic, making the decision quite difficult. I went with the deconstructed carrot cake which was a cake, almost in cupcake form, that was filled with cream cheese. There was also caramel sauce, a sweeter cream cheese icing, and a few walnuts on the plate. The pineapple ice cream that came along side of it was a great pairing for the dessert. Just when we were stuffed, they brought out a plate of oatmeal raisin cookies and chocolates. I brought the chocolate home but I had to pass on the cookies as I was just too full. The restaurant offers a gorgeous view of the ocean. Throughout dinner, we watched the sun set and the waves roll in. Service was very attentive and parking was very easy across the street. read more

A friend and I came here for brunch after an event and we were blown away by the menu. Definitely wasn't expecting a full on all you can eat brunch! The view of the water while dining was beyond words. They had just about everything you could imagine. Even seahorse shaped butter!! One might say its a bit expensive, but for what they have to offer its a deal! You could easily spend all morning here if you wanted to getting your money's worth. The only downside is you would have to be a member of the club in order to dine here. Perfection. One of the best fine dining experiences I've had in a while. The restaurant is located beachside on the 2nd floor of the Ponte Vedra Inn. The windows are floor to ceiling providing gorgeous, breathtaking ocean views. Stunning. The service was excellent. We started the evening with a chilled glass of Prosecco and a bowl of lobster bisque. For my entree, I selected the filet of beef nestled on a bed of crabmeat and Bearnaise sauce. Perfect setting, lovely food, gigantic tropical fish tank, all over looking the beach, but seriously overpriced. My lovely piece of snapper was covered with unnecessary "stuff", bacon-stuffed collard greens, Tasso ham, and a chili butter sauce - which totally overpowered the delicate fish. $48. Also, my companion who is recovering from surgery and uses a wheelchair, was unable to use the bathroom because no stall door opening was wide enough to to admit a wheelchair (a narrow, travel type model). read more

I had an incredible meal here on a Sunday evening. The grill is one of the few places to eat at this resort on a Sunday night, and so I went with trepidation, but high hopes, as it was the last night of my stay and I hadn't had a truly good meal during my stay in Florida. You can't beat the view--ocean waves beat the shore close enough to hear, and if you should happen to have your back to it (bless your heart!), you can still gaze at the reef fish in the large marine tank that borders the bar and dining room. I ordered the oyster mushrooms as a side, and they would be a great appetizer as well. They were quite salty, but still wonderful. I dined alone, and although this side was truly meant to be shared (probably could have been shared by up to four), I managed to wolf it down all by myself. My entree was the snapper with tasso ham, collard greens and chili cream. Oh. my. There are no words to adequately describe how beautifully these flavors melded--how delicate the cream and fish, and how powerful the collard greens and tasso ham. Mmm-mmm-mmm. If I lived here, I would be one of those patrons who never ordered anything different. The one disappointment I must mention was the dessert. My sky high chocolate peanut butter torte didn't taste very fresh. It couldn't have been made that day...or possibly even the day before. The cake seemed a bit dry. The flavor was good, but overall the dessert couldn't match the near perfection of the meal. Overall, I am so glad I finished my stay at the Ponte Vedra Inn at the Seahorse Grill. I have mixed feelings on the Seahorse Grille... the food was good, the atmosphere was nice and the view was beautiful. The downside, however, is that it's a private restaurant in the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and it is very expensive. Since its private, you can't put it on a credit card, debit card, or pay cash. Instead, it is charged to your room. I'll cover the room and stay in a separate review. It was nice, but I'm not sure that I'll be dining here again. read more

Rude service, mediocre food, overpriced. Most of the reviews appear fake; there was no seahorse-shaped butter, no rolls fresh from the oven, no cookies and chocolates in the end. The beet salad was tiny but very good; the sea bass good but salty, the snapper was bland. The hostess was rude and, even though we had reserved a table near the fish tank, she took us to another table and left us there waiting until she had to check with her manager. The tables by the fish tank remained vacant for the duration of our stay. Will not be going there again. read more

We dined at the Seahorse Grille today for brunch and it was absolute perfection. The prime rib with au jus and horseradish was cooked perfectly and carved to order. They had an omelet station, tons of seafood (my favorite being the shrimp and cheese grits), tons of cheese and charcuterie and your usual breakfast staples. My husband was a huge fan of the shrimp cocktail and eggs Benedict. Our server Mark was extremely attentive and friendly. Can't beat the oceanfront views and service at the Inn. read more

While staying at the Ponte Vedra Inn we tried their signature restaurant - the Seahorse Grille. The restaurant is located about a mile away from the hotel but they offer shuttle service so no worries about driving. We did the Chef's table which is a behind the scenes experience that seats you front row to the culinary action in the kitchen. We had a thirteen course customized tasting menu prepared by Chef Erik and accompanied by wine pairings poured by our personal maître d' for the evening, Matt. We also had a server who changed our dishes/silverware/glassware for each course. Fancy! It took me a few minutes to acclimate to the environment: cooks on the line grilling , searing and expediting food, servers running in and out of the kitchen, and our Chef explaining the food journey our palates would be taking during the course of the evening. The glass of Vueve Cliquot champagne Matt brought us as soon as we sat down helped lol. The portion sizes for each course were perfect - fairly small , just a few bites worth, allowing you to move to the next course without feeling full (except for the last few courses!). Some of the plates were pretty bold, like the duck yakatori. Our Chef told us right away that he used gizzards and the heart to prepare the dish . While I found it pretty tasty, I think I would have enjoyed the dish more not knowing what exactly I was eating until afterwards! My favorite dish was a duck liver brulee with a muscadine sauce. It had the appearance of creme brûlée and I appreciated the combination of sweet and savory with this dish . While I didn't love every course, dining at the Chef's table was truly a unique experience! The attention to detail and treatment you receive is quite a treat. They even sent us both off with a box of chocolates. read more

Went here twice over one long weekend. Located in the Ponte Vedra Inn and Resort complex, it's their upscale dining choice and it is mainly pretty good. The room is beautiful, with a large curved salt water aquarium dominating the central part of the room serving as a room divider and a backdrop to the bar area. The aquarium is nice, but the panoramic views of the beach and ocean are truly breathtaking. There are custom cocktails, local beers and a nice wine selection. Things are starting off pretty well, I think! Unfortunately, a few issues arose. First, the service was slow, really slow, and curiously unaware. On one visit, we were meeting a colleague who was already seated and the host staff could not find this person and we ended up just walking in and finding him ourselves. The place isn't that big! Both times I visited, the frequency of waitstaff visits to our table was inadequate. Now maybe I failed to leave my type A personality back at home but I wasn't the only one to comment on this. The menu is actually pretty ambitious, with tried and true Florida resort fare such as steaks and fresh fish, intermingled with some zingers - bone marrow, pork and beans, foie gras. My foodie tendencies were rewarded! The bone marrow appetizer consisted of 3 large split shanks , roasted, and served over toast and with some lightly dressed greens - simple and decadent. The pork and beans was actually glazed pork belly over lightly sweetened navy beans; if you like char siu, this dish is for you. You must get the Parker rolls with crab butter. Let me repeat. You must get the Parker rolls with crab butter. Hot out of the oven, these little buns are crusty, nearly charred on the outside and so fluffy, light and even a bit stretchy on the inside. Oh, and the crab butter... The seafood gumbo was a very upscale version, with whole lobster claw meat and large shrimp. The gumbo soup was rich, obviously made with a dark, dark roux. A little bit of perfectly cooked rice completed this excellent dish. Entrees were less successful. On one night, I tried the lamb chops which were competently prepared but unexciting. On my other visit I had the swordfish. I explicitly told the waiter how I wanted the fish prepared, that I did not want a dry swordfish, but alas, my swordfish was dry. Perhaps it was because my filet was really thin - much thinner than I would cook myself - and thus the window of proper cooking temperature is very narrow. And if it sat under the heat lamps for a few minutes waiting to be brought out because, well service was moving so slowly, well then... I almost sent it back but I hate doing that. My overall assessment is that it's worth a visit, but remember to leave your type A personality traits back at home. read more

My table ordered the catch of the day which was grouper and the surf and turf. Both entree's were fantastic. The wine selection is the same you find throughout the whole inn and club. We were staying here at the inn and decided to give this place a try. Great second floor view in a nice room and a soloist playing guitar in the back ground. The food was middle of the road at best. My swordfish was overcooked and dry. The scallops were over salted to the point of my girl friend not finishing them. We were not were we asked "how the food was?" Only asked if we were finished? To their defense it was an extremely slow night. From my experience years ago, slow nights are harder to turn out good consistent food than busy nights. I would guess that this was just a poor showing in their part and not typical. read more

One of the best dinners we have had. Our waiter, Scott, recommended an incredible wine and the Sommolier from April 14 was very knowledgeable and personable, without the pretense we sometimes find. A 5 star experience. We stayed at the Ponte Vedra Inn & Club and ate at the Seahorse Grille on 9/30/17. We arrived at 5pm and even though they don't open until 6pm, they fixed us a table and insisted we dine early. With an infant and a toddler, they were amazing. All of the staff was sweet and accommodating to my toddler. They took him to see different fish in the tank and to see the live band playing. They brought us hot water to warm the baby's milk. They were amazing. And the food? Incredible. I got the bone-in ribeye with cheesy mashed potatoes and asparagus. So flavorful and cooked perfectly. Had a peppercorn crust on the steak. So delicious. My husband had the filet and it was delicious as well. I tried a bite of my dads scallops and my moms King salmon - all amazing. They brought complementary sugar cookies and chocolates for my son because he asked for cookies. And he wanted a grilled cheese that they made for him despite it not being on the menu. Great experience all around - Disney-like attention to detail. They've got a great group of people working at this restaurant. I would recommend it to anyone. read more

Since this restaurant is part of the Ponte Vedra Inn & club, we assumed it would be a very good meal. When members of the club asked us to go on June 4th, we were happy to get a chance to try it. Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing meal and expensive, $325 for 4 persons. Lobster bisque which tasted burnt. Filet Mignon was small, no sides included and had a very thick sauce which did not taste good. Another meal was grouper that had a thick crust including the skin, not much actual fish to eat. Bread was tasteless and not fresh. To top it off, the fire alarm went off twice while we were eating. The first time we vacated for 15 minutes. The second time everyone ignored it. Should have given everyone a round of drinks or something for the inconvenience. Nothing was done or offered. This was really a lousy time and meal unless you like watching monied Ponte Vedra patrons trying to look and act successful. NOT IMPRESSED!! You can get a better meal for 4 for less than half the price at Bonefish Grill!! Never again! read more
