I had the Virgin Margarita, Bacon Wrapped Scallops (BWS) and the Blackened Mahi Tacos (BMT). The margarita was good and semi-fruity. The BWS was delicious, cooked well and nice. Great flavor with the pineapple. The BMT was good although somewhat tasted a little "fragrant" like soap? I guess the cilantro lime drizzle helped with covering the taste. Mahi was cooked nicely. Chips and salsa/sour cream was the usual norm. We stayed til almost closing since we arrived already late in the evening. It was on a weekday evening, so it wasn't too busy. Oh my gosh what a crazy experience. This is about Customer Service not food. Thursday night before Florida n Georgia.? Ceiling fans at high speed an advised by bartender he can't control the speed. Relocated to an interior part of the bar. The restaurant was not busy which was surprising. Sat at the bar 5 minutes while the 2 bartenders looked at their phones and chatted. We ordered our drinks and upon arrival immediately ordered food. Then the wait was on. We waited and waited ordered another round and finished round two and still waiting. I asked the female bartender where our food was and..... she snapped the restaurant is packed . Umm as I looked around there were more tables empty than customers. Multiple seats at bar. 15 minutes later Oysters arrived. 10 minutes later food arrived. A whopping one hour and fifteen minutes after order. The female bartender was rude the male was busy throwing back shots. The oysters were good, Grouper Sandwich adequate and Mahi special was sparse. Such a disappointing experience! read more

We came midweek as a group of 6 for lunch. We were one of only a couple parties in the restaurant. It was a nice ambiance. I'd like to go back to sit outside some other time. It was just WAY too hot this trip. That created a little bit of a bummer. Inside, there was a little bit of that mildewy smell when the bar mats aren't properly washed and left to dry. The bathrooms were also... not great. Which was surprising considering the amount of people in there at the time. With that out of the way, let's move onto the food and drinks. The salad itself was wonderful, and I really liked their croutons! However, the grilled shrimp was way too salty. To the point it made me pucker. I also tried some of the shrimp po' boy. Those fried shrimp were excellent and the sandwich overall was great. Fries were also pretty good! Now, absolutely top tier was the service. Our server was excellent and took very good care of us. Had great recommendations when asked as well. I would normally knock off another star for the super salty shrimp, but I admittedly did not give them the opportunity to fix it. I wasn't super hungry and was sated with the part of the po' boy I had. I'm sure had I said anything, they would have put in effort to fix, and make it right. I think I have PTSD from NYC pricing, as mocktails there are like $10 a pop now what a joke ahahahaa. We started with blackened shrimp nachos, and this shrimp was blessed by the hand of god. They should run a Masterclass on how to properly blacken shrimp. It was so good that I had to get a shrimp platter for my main along with a side of rice. Came with a group of ladies (7 total) to celebrate "Halfway to Christmas". We could not have picked a better place with the beach décor and groovy atmosphere. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The indoor seating is cooler temperature-wise, but the outdoor area is a cooler atmosphere feel. Does that make sense? Our waitress and her team were kind. There was some confusion about a ticket at our table from the time of ordering. So, if you are unsure about a "special" concerning the cost, just be sure to ask what the price difference is (if any) if the waitress forgets or doesn't mention it. Mistakes happen...and fortunately, the manager solved it without delay. The day we went, Oysters were 12 for $12 steamed or raw...woot! My family and I have been here a few times and honestly, the seafood and oysters are the way to go...always good. The other options are good, but it's not what they specialize in. Ya know? I have two cons that are intertwined about this place which lowered my rating: 1. Even before the checks were paid...we weren't asked if we needed anything else...like a drink or water. Some ladies were asking for the checks, so I get it...then all of us got our checks by default...again, I get it. A few of us stayed for a bit talking and I figured someone would come back to see if we needed anything...nope. Our waitress wasn't in site either. We actually would have gotten another drink along with some water since we were talking. So Sliders Staff, even though checks are closed...it doesn't always mean consumers are done. Come back and check on us (the customer), especially since it was so hot. 2. They use the portable guilt-tipping machine, which I don't like at all. I tipped very well because I liked our waitress, her team and felt as though they'd continue to take care of me/us until we left...but service abruptly stopped when the checks & tips were paid. So ya think you can at least bring us a glass of water? Or ask if there is anything else after a few minutes if you see us still sitting there. There is no parking slated for the restaurant. All parking around the town center area is paid parking. But there is an app and it's not overly expensive. By paying with the app you can check on it and extend if needed--easy peasy. End Note: This is a wonderful place to hang out and grab some oysters and I know I'll be back at some point probably. I actually look forward to changing my star rating one day. I would have given a higher rating if my visit ended differently. I like it when service is from the beginning (upon entry) to the end (upon exit). You have a wonderful venue...but you can do better Sliders staff. I'm only one person with an opinion, but with that said, I've personally learned a lesson with the guilt-tipping machine here. I will bring cash next time to pay at the end if I feel as though we'll be hanging out since I know the service stops and is over once the bill is paid and the tip is given on the guilt check-out machine. read more

We've been coming here for 30+ years. It is our first go to when we get to Neptune Beach. Hanna(h) our server was on her first night solo and she killed it! Running ragged as 1 of 2 servers and never lost her smile. The newest manager needs a course in hospitality and teamwork. He never checked on a single table and rarely checked on the 2 servers. Went in on Friday evening and they were packed! Was waitlisted but because it was for a party of two, was seated fairly quickly. First open seating was indoors (outdoor would've been preferred but we were hungry). Pretty loud inside and had to talk loudly to hear one another. We ordered two dozen oysters, half was steamed and the other dozen was split between Lucky Gouda and Godzilla. Godzilla was really good but Lucky Gouda hid the flavors of the oysters. The steamed oysters were pretty good but I prefer raw. We also shared the Crabby Fries, which were pretty tasty, Seasonal Ceviche (not so great; it was just shrimp and nothing else) with too many chips that went wasted because the ceviche was plain and a side of seasonal veggies (green beans and onions; good flavor). Sliders has become a weekly staple ever since the remodel. TBH we weren't really fans of this place previously but decided to give it another shot after the adorable makeover it had. We were certain that the new found adorable atmosphere would be the only improvement but boy were we wrong! The service and the food also seem to have made major improvements as well. Our eggs benedict had hard yolks and the refire was undercooked, and the muffin was soft, not toasted. We loved the clams before, and ours were mostly small , crunchy coating bits. I saw another patron with them on the way out, and they looked great. The hush puppies were dark fried dry balls. The cheese grits were the best thing we had. I absolutely love coming to sliders after the beach, there's nothing better than seafood after a day spent by the water. Obviously, they are known for their wasters, but lately I have been indulging in old fashions and crab legs. Don't get me wrong, the oysters are fantastic, regular style, Godzilla style, and all of the other bells and whistles. But lately, I have gotten the pleasure of trying their snow crab (by the pound), and crabby fries. The crabby fries are covered in queso, crab meat, old bay, and green onions. even though they are an appetizer, they could be quite heavy so I've been getting them as a side dish. this dish is fun, playful, yet comforting. Their snow crab is meaty and fresh, accompanied with drawn butter. I really enjoy the outdoor bar area, it is right on the putting green and in the sunshine. But it's not. It's ok. So why should it be awesome? Well, reason #1. The place is in a great spot. Open air bar in Neptune beach. Has a great vibe and nice outdoor seating area. Those are the positives. The staff really seems to struggle keeping up with the tables. I don't know if they need more staff, need more training or just don't know what they're doing. But you can literally sit forever waiting for service. As for the food? I'm really disappointed with the fish. Which brings me to reason #2 as to why Sliders should be awesome. This is a Safe Harbor restaurant. Safe Harbor! If anyone knows fish it should be these guys! But sadly the fish dishes are mediocre at best. Whether it's the fish tacos, the poke bowls, well, any of them. Just not great. I tried the lobster burger the last time I was in. It's a decent burger. Not much lobster on it and certainly not worth the price. Again, it should have been awesome. And wasn't. If you're looking for a good bar to hang out in for a cool beach vibe, then I'd definitely recommend Sliders. Looking for a great meal? An awesome meal? Well, I'd go somewhere else. We went on a Friday at 2pm to avoid the lunch rush and it was still very crowded! There was outdoor and indoor seating so we sat outside and was served quickly. Since there's so many people the place can be pretty noisy, especially outside with the people walking the town. I got the oyster poboy since I figured this place was known for good oysters by the name. The oysters were pretty fresh but it was a bit more breading than I would like and the oysters were pretty small. With the large bread roll and other toppings, the oysters were pretty lost in the poboy. The fried pickles for my side were very hot and fresh when it came out. My partner got the mayport fried shrimp with the fries as his side. The shrimp was really fresh, but a little overcooked for my tastes. The portions were pretty good for the price and you can see he got many shrimps and hush puppies with his entree. Service was quick and our server was really nice with checking in on us. The ambiance here is reminiscent of Key West, FL! It is a quaint spot that feels like a good place to vibe at with friends and family before or after going to the beach. We sat outside and enjoyed some live music while sipping on the Spicy Bloody Merry (quite delicious) and Stolli Mule (also quite delicious--and dangerous! I didn't taste the vodka). We ordered some conch fritters which came with a spicy, chipotle sauce, which were good but I preferred the New England clam chowder soup which was so creamy and flavorful, the bowl was licked clean. We then ordered the Shrimp Po'boy which came with a sweet chili sauce and swapped fries for a side of hush puppies. The hush puppies were very crispy and I much preferred them to the conch fritters. We also got the chicken quesadilla, subbed chips for fries, and I gotta say, it was delectable. Overall, it was Sunday and their brunch deals were incredible ($13 bottle of champagne) but this did affect the service.
