Next time I go on an interview and they ask "How do you handle multitasking?", I'll say I ate at Seapot once. There's a lot going on, monitoring the conveyor belt for your sides, making sure your personal hotpot isn't overcooking your items, and then flipping the meats on the grill. Making sure you aren't going to burn yourself either from the grill or the hotpot. Overall, it was a fun experience, but I just really want to relax and eat. Surprisingly, for a restaurant that does BOTH hotpot and Korean BBQ, they both taste decent. I personally think dedicated restaurants for either dishes taste better. The Korean BBQ for the marinated dishes is heavily salted, so I left the restaurant very dehydrated despite drinking multiple cups of water. I had the kimchi hotpot soup base and it tasted decent . Nothing too critical about the hotpot, but there isn't anything special to remember the flavor profiles afterwards. It's really a 3/5 for their individual Korean BBQ and hotpot, but it's 4/5 because it's able to offer a unique dining experience. read more

On the conveyor belt they have seafood, meatballs, veggies too. They are all small plates and great for one person. . You would need to order the broth and meats with the server. . Sauce bar - they have all these sauces where you can mix and dip your hot pot. I love the sweet and spicy sauce with cilantro and green onions. . Sauce bar plus sides which is next to it. There is great bonchons like kimchi, pickled cucumber, and etc. I like the sides to pair with hot pot is a plus. I didn't do the kbbq option because I was not that hungry so I just did the hot pot. . The ambiance is casual. The service was great and attentive and was informative with how it works inside. Overall I had a great meal and will be back when I'm in for some hot pot and kbbq. Waited 2 hours for a seat. I joined the waitlist through Yelp. Asked me to check in 20 mins at restaurant after I booked a spot. Waited another hour and a half. Prolly hella busy because it's newly open. After 6pm gets busy, even on a weekday. After being seated, waiting for the soup also was a wait. Server checks in as much as possible but after the wait I've had I had to put more order in and ask for more just in case they don't come back lol. The seating is based on table/party size. There are a lot of smaller size parties (2-4 ppl) so those take way longer. I was a party of 2. Big tables can be a bit faster cuz they said it comes and go, not frequent. The items on the conveyer belt that you prolly see most are the least grabbed or been there for a while already. The longer I been sat and eating, new items came out like those fried bread with condensed milk, fish skin, enoki, potsticker, diff types of noodles, and some variety of seafood. The meat was cool, nicely thinly sliced and great portion. There was 1 meat I ordered that looked very shriveled up lol. It was like they served me leftovers. I got a Thai Pot soup base that should have a hot and sour taste. Very bland tbh.. so bland it didn't even give my protein flavor. My sauce had to give flavor. It had a piece of tomato in it for the vibes lol. My bf had the kimchi soup and he also felt it was bland and no spice. The actual kimchi side dish they served had more taste. Underwhelming. There's really no mind blowing hot pot in Sac, but if I had to choose I'd pick happy lamb over this even though the set up was different. The soup was really bland, and they also diluted the sha cha sauce way down to a point where I couldn't even tell it was sha cha. Went here twice! Once for dinner and another for lunch just 3 days apart. Initially, from my first experience (dinner), I would've given this place a solid 4.5/5. They nailed the sauce bar, the steaks available for dinner were great, the quality of everything was good, and our server was super kind and helpful. I enjoyed my first time and hyped it up to others, so we went for their lunch special. The quality did not feel like how it did when I first went; the broth wasn't as flavorful as the first time and the meat had a lot of fat - no we did not order the toro. In the photo you can see a majority of the meat was fat. The food and service just didn't hit as hard the second time around unfortunately so now I have mixed feelings. We also only ordered beef items and somehow there was a meat that looked and tasted like pork so I'm not sure how that happened. Also, this was the only thing I ate today and I had to use the bathroom 3x... The building is cool and they do a good job at keeping things clean. Service is alright; I think it would be helpful to explain the different meats when being delivered to clarify which is for the hotpot and which is for the bbq especially since this is a newer place and you're bound to get new customers who have no idea what's happening (both times all of the meats were spread across the table as we were getting our sauces so we came back confused which was which). Korean bbq and hotpot are my two favorites so sign me up!! They are currently in soft opening and in attempts to avoid long waits, we decided to come during lunch on a weekday. There were a handful of others who had the same idea but we were seated right away and servers were constantly checking on us. Lunchtime on weekdays is only $21.99 for Korean bbq or hotpot, plus an extra $5 if you want to do both. I would say that's a great deal since some kbbq places cost more than that and you only get the bbq. It is a lot of food though, so make sure you come hungry of course! We wanted to try both on our first visit so we know what we like and can come back for both again, or only one option. The verdict is...I'd come back for the combo or hotpot by itself! My reasons... -I love the self serve conveyor belt for hotpot ingredients and variety of the hotpot soup flavors (although I wish they had the half/half bowls but these are smaller so I can see why it's only one flavor) -Although there are better hotpot/shabu options elsewhere too, I mainly like the self serve belt here so I don't have to keep bothering my server. Huge bonus for me (and again, the price point). They pretty much have all the meat and veggie and noodle options that I like. -The Korean bbq was good but not good enough for me to come back JUST for that. It was still good though so I would enjoy it if I was also going for hotpot (especially at the lunch price point) -They also don't have actual side of banchan, just a few options at the sauce bar (kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and radish wrap), so that's another reason why I wouldn't come for kbbq only. There are a few places in Elk Grove/Sac that have the hotpot and kbbq combo and this one is ranking at the top of those for me. Meat was good quality and very flavorful, great seasoning and marinades. They also have a great variety for sauces that can be used for both the bbq and the hotpot. Service was great. We were greeted immediately when walking in and the host was super helpful in giving us the rundown as soon as she sat us down. Our server checked on us often and they were taking away empty plates quite often so our table didn't get too cluttered. The ambiance is really nice too - the interior has tall ceilings and very modern decor. The entrance and bar area is spacious, as well as the area outside the front door, so I can imagine that helps during busy times and long waits. There are huge TVs and a great playlist playing (yet it isn't too loud either). The seating is all booth style but I liked that they had larger booths for bigger parties which is harder to find for hotpot. We did feel kinda close to the table across the conveyor belt like we could hear each other talking, but that's kinda unavoidable with how the tables have to be set up around the belt. It is probably less noticeable in a busier restaurant too. They had high chairs as well which is great for those with kids! Beautiful restaurant. Well decorated and the aroma could be smelled from the parking lot. If you join the wait-list with less than 6 people, be prepared to have any table of 6 or larger that comes after you be seated ahead of you. We joined the wait-list at 6:50pm on a Thursday and the estimated wait was 20-45 minutes. I received a notification that the table would be ready 725-740. We were not seated until after 915pm. During the 2.5 hour wait, I saw 3 tables of 10-12 that came after us but since they had more than 6 people, they could make a reservation for 7 or 8 and just get seated ahead of all the people waiting. I heard the hostess tell the other server that since there are no more larger tables, they can start seating smaller tables. It may be because they automatically charge gratuity for tables of 6 or more, or may be it's a coincidence. I do not recommend patronizing this business. The food was mediocre. I don't see this place doing well after the hype dies down. They will likely claim this is due to their "soft opening" but they made the decision to not respect their customers for the sake of collecting gratuity. It's rather sad because I would've tipped much more than the guaranteed 18% from the 6+ tables. They also have a conditional pass from the health department. read more

3.5 stars rounded to 4, for now. It's soft opening, but they're already busy! Good for them. I have been waiting forever for them to open and I'm so excited to finally have given it a try. We went at 5 pm on a Friday and were seated immediately, but there was already a line to wait for a table before 5:30. It's all booths. Tables for 2-4 near the front, then tables for 6 in the middle and tables for 8 towards the back. There is a large bar, a couple little cocktail tables, and a pergola outside to wait at..would be nice if they had more seating for those waiting. They are able to pull out the booth bench if necessary though, as I saw them do it for someone in a wheelchair. Overall, a very large space with capacity of 275. Service was good. Hosts were a bit lost when seating us. They originally took us to where larger parties are supposed to sit (there were just two of us). Then they had us go back towards the entrance, but the table had menus so they didn't know if someone was already sitting there. The people had been moved to another table so we were seated. Not a big deal but also not the best first impression. I didn't catch our waitresses name, the music was a little louder at that time, but she was a tall Asian girl. She was around often enough and we didn't have to wait to put in meat orders. Meat also came out relatively quickly and they told us what it was when they placed it on the table, which I had seen some people complain about in other reviews. We opted to only do hot pot, as reviews were better for that than kbbq so far and we just didn't have the stomach to try both. Plus, it can be a bit overwhelming.. anyways, the conveyor belt has all the options for the hot pot aside from the meat and sauce. Unfortunately, quality here is low. - My spinach was so wilted and sad looking. - The Napa cabbage had like a rubbery texture, like they had been sitting in the fridge for a couple days, probably stacked on top of each other. - The banchan options were terrible. The kimchi cucumbers were not good at all and very watery. Kimchi was very plain and had no spice. - I got the healthy herb soup, which was similar to little sheep/happy lamb's bone broth, except not nearly as good and very oily. My partner got the Thai one, similar to Tom yum. He said it was rather bland/tasted watery. They offer to "add more broth", but it just looked like water to me. - For soft opening, they did offer free soda in exchange for a 5 star review.. unfortunately, I can't give the quality of food 5 stars. - Meat started off good. The first plate of Australian Wagyu was delicious. But after that, each plate of meat got worse and worse. Beef toro was almost pure fat, which ended up upsetting my partners stomach/appetite. The second plate of Australian Wagyu was like beef jerky. He previously worked as a meat cutter and believes they cut against the grain and it just ruined the meat tbh. The ribeye had a weird flavor and yellow fat. Idk how to describe the weird taste, but it was not normal. Overall, paid $85 for dinner (including tip). I'm glad I got to try the dinner options, as they were definitely better than the lunch options. However, the quality of each plate of meat varies significantly and you never know what you're going to get. I would probably come back to try the kbbq option or for lunch, but as of right now, I'm not sure that I could recommend it for dinner. Lost at Sea. My birthday was coming up and we were looking for a new place in town -- since Seapot is all the rage right now with family and friends we thought, why not? If you're looking for a short and sweet version of the review it's this -- go check it out, the food was good and the service is about what you'd expect from an AYCE spot. As positive as it sounds, I did have some gripes about this place. Ambiance, it was hectic in there. The overall layout wasn't the most inviting and sometimes downright frustrating. The tables were long and there was only one way out, they have a conveyor belt of sides but if you're on the other side of the table your basically screwed until you bother your table mates to grab you something. There is an area to get different dipping sauces and other sides but if you during an even semi-busy time like we did the line gets long -- not to mention the not so kind patrons who think they can just walk up and grab what they need without waiting (so annoying). With all that said the food was really good, the meats tasted great the Galbi short rib and the cuts of Wagyu amazing. The broth was good too, I went with the Miso and it was very flavorful without being overly salty. Service was good too, there was only someone to check in on us to swap out the grill for the KBBQ. Lastly, price, it would say is about what you'd expect to pay it was 32.99 for dinner + $5 to have both hot pot and kbbq. We'd go back for sure, but next time just my wife and I and not a whole table of 6+. read more

This place is a hotpot lovers paradise. Ingredients galore! Love all the options and fatty beef options. They give you hotpot of Kbbq options or you can do both. $37.99 AYCE on weekends. Definitely worth the price. Drinks like sodas are not included. I like the sauce bar too. Lots of spicy options. The spicy house broth was very flavorful and well spiced. The only thing was the server takes a while to check back each time to see if you need some more meat and my beer also came super late. They are still short staffed since it's new but hopefully that process will be much more efficient next time I come back. This would be a 5 star experience if the service was smoother and on point. Our first time at the Sacramento location and it did not disappoint! We've been to your Daly City location a few times with friends. We were so impressed that we had to have our dear friends meet us at the Sacramento location as it was there first time. The veggies, noodles etc did not disappoint! We loved how we had our own pot of broth. We did not try the bbq and was happy with all the meat choices for the hot pot! The waitstaff was pleasant and helpful. I love eating hotpot and was so happy to see Seapot open in Sacramento. Came here on a Tuesday around 5pm and got seated right away. I tried the Spicy house special (number 1) soup base and it was spiced just right. The conveying belt had just about all hot pot items from different seafood items like shrimp, snails, scallops and crab to all different type of balls (fish, meat, dumpling with eggs inside and etc). They also had a good vegetable selection as well. As far as the meat menu, the Australian Wagyu and and natural angus prime melted in my mouth. Service was friendly and patient. What a spot this is for Elk Grove! Seapot offers both a BBQ and Hotpot option (can choose one or both) and it was delicious! My friends and I opted to try both for the first time and we ate our hearts out. It costs an additional $5 for both, but it's honestly worth it. We got a Miso broth, a Sukiyaki broth, and a Thai broth. Highly recommend the miso broth if you're into more subtle, but familiar miso flavor. Its a safe option that you can't go wrong with. Seapot's sauce bar and sides bar are phenomenal. They have a variety of sauces to choose from like the ponzu, BBQ meat sauce, and spicy sauces. The sides had plenty of radish kimchi, cucumber kimchi, fish cake, japchae, you name it! The conveyor belt was a pretty neat addition to the place. They offer vegetables, sausages, and A LOT of seafood options like escargot, clams, oysters, octopus, crawfish, and shrimp. I felt like the food was endless and I couldn't stop eating haha. The meats here were top-notch. We mainly got Wagyu cuts, beef toro, beef tongue, and galbi and it was great quality. Never disappointed in the cuts we got that night. We were on the yelp waitlist for almost 3 hours... it did suck to wait that long with no seating arrangements inside... we waited ... even though i offered to eat elsewhere... but waiting that long.. you might as well just stay... it was very slow moving far as service... and the conveyor belt idea is cool except the dishes/silverware were extremely dirty. Some of the utensils weren't cleaned correctly .. i understand its a soft opening but i hope some of these concerns get addressed. Went there two times, the first time I had the House Special Sauce I didn't quite like it (it lacked depth in flavor and was on the salty side). However the second time around I got the Tonkatsu (pork) broth and it was delicious! It did take like 15 minutes for the broth to come out though so that wasn't fun. Also it took a while for the server to come around with the meat and/or ask what meat we would like next. We tried to be understanding with the slow service but considering we were there for over an hour and only got to order 2 rounds of food before we were handed the bill, we were very disappointed and dissatisfied. I came for the first time and asked for the spicy house soup for the AYCE hot pot. To be fair the server did warn me twice that the spicy house soup was intense, but I persisted. It indeed does give a slow burn buildup, but it was manageable for me. I enjoyed the large variety of items for the little conveyor belt to cart around. They also had a nice variety of meats to order with your server as well. I loved the little water carafe they leave at the table. I've been to the original location when they first opened in San Mateo and this one is bigger and better!! Vibes are cute and they have a giant screen at the bar for watching sports! They offer a lunch option Monday-Friday for $21.99 for either hot pot or kbbq and it's an extra $5/each person if you wanna do both. We did the kbbq and we loved it! Meats(4.5/5)- the kbbq meats were pretty good quality but sometimes the brisket would come out as tiny lil pieces like an inch long. But this is only judging the beef, chicken, and seafood because we don't really eat pork. Service (5/5)- our server I think her name is Chau from the receipt but she was so attentive and nice!! She kept checking up on us asking if we were ready to order more meats and was on top of changing our grill! Couldn't have asked for better service. Sauce station (5/5)- very well stocked with so many different options! They even had peanut sauce, sesame sauce, and sacha sauce which is Chinese bbq sauce that I don't see too often at hot pot places but IYKYK it always hits!! Banchan/fruits(4/5)- the fresh fruits were so so sweet!! They also had a good amount of banchan like fish cake, seaweed salad, kimchi, cucumber kimchi, and mushroom salad. First off I would like to say our server Shalia was terrible. This place sucks. We arrived at 5:35pm with reservations. When we sat down we had our our server approach us asking what we wanted to drink. She did not introduce herself. We then placed an order of our 1st round of meat. The grilled cooked super slow and when we asked Shelia to raise the temp she said it was already at its highest setting. We continued to cook on the slow grill and it took over 20mins to cook our thin beef and galbi. Food was covered with cinnamon. It definitely was not your typical Kbbq taste. We couldn't even get our water refilled and Shelia didn't check on our table. We had to flag her down. While we finished cooking our 1st round of meat we placed another round of meat order 1 hours in. While we were getting ready to cook our 2nd round of meat Shelia said we have 5mins left. We proceeded to cook our meat but it didn't cook on time and we were escorted out since time expired. $37 per person is a rip off for only 1 round of AYCE KBBQ. Visited here over the weekend, and due to it being rainy, it was a perfect time for hot pot. When my goup arrived, we were all seated promptly and atrended too quickly. I understand that this place is new and that there is a wait time. But besides the sauce bar and the manager being nice to us. This place is not good. The galbi and the fish roe was the best thing we ordered. Austraillian wagyu was chewy, the tongs they give us to use is almost useless, the kimchi and medicine broth was super bland, all the food on the conveyer belt looked old, kimchi and the cucumber kimchi was very bland. If you know anything about boiling meat and a lot of residual come out. That mean the meat was not cleaned properly. We really wanted to like this spot like the daly city spot but it's a no go for us. I won't rate it 1 star because the employees were really nice. Party of 6 arrived for Thursday dinner and only had to wait 20 minutes around 7pm. We all opted for the ayce hotpot+kbbq. System and setup is the same as Bay Area Seapots however conveyor belt selections seemed to be lacking. My group liked the Thai, house spicy, and herbal soups. For kbbq, the galbi was a little too chewy. The beef rib fingers were the best meat option for the grill. Nothing special about the waygu. Our biggest qualm was when the meat was brought out. It wasn't clear which meats were for hot pot/grill nor type. We would've appreciated a color code system to prevent those who don't eat pork or beef to know what we have on the table. Glad to have this as an option in the city. Half my group loved it and will definitely come back. The other half opted to go to solo shops (just ayce hotpot or kbbq) to get better quality foods. read more

Great spot! The restaurant was huge with lots of tables and a bar where you can go grab some drinks while waiting for a table. You get AYCE options for hot pot, kbbq or both (for additional $5). There's a 90 min time limit. There is a sauce & appetizer/fruit bar and a conveyor belt (next to your table) where you can grab veggies, mushrooms, dumplings, etc. There was a lot of different options and add-ons to choose from. Our party did both kbbq and hot pot and it does get overwhelming keeping up with the bbq-ing and grabbing items from the conveyor belt. Our favorite meats were brisket, beef belly, and galbi short ribs! Service was great. The server made sure we got what we needed and checked in often. read more
