I haven't been back to Bulta KBBQ in a little while since they first opened, so I was really pleased to come back and experience some of the changes they've made. The decor has been upgraded, the menu is more expansive, and they've added a DIY ramen bar and sushi. The sushi rolls are made fresh and pumped out to the self-serve buffet station along with the other side dishes. We went with the higher Bulta option, which unlocks the nigiri and sashimi selections. The premium bone-in LA galbi was definitely a highlight -- that melt-in-your-mouth tenderness was . Our server, Brandon S., was also really cool and took great care of us. Brandon, you asked me to let you know what I thought of the new Melona flavors, so here you go: the coffee flavor is officially my new favorite! It was bomb. The piña colada really tasted like a piña colada, too, and both are great additions. But that coffee flavor hits different. I want a whole box! Great food, great additions, and a great time overall. I felt that the offerings under this deal were plentiful at a great price. I ordered the following proteins/kitchen item sides: - Brisket - Spicy Beef Bulgogi (top favorite) - Beef Belly - Soy Thick-Cut Pork Belly (top favorite) - Corn Cheese - Steamed Egg - Ramen (top favorite) - Cheese Ramyun The deal also included the salad bar. I grabbed the following: - White Rice - California Roll - Chow Mein - Miso Soup (top favorite) - Sauces: Brisket Sauce (top favorite), Sambal Sauce (top favorite) & Soy Sauce I must say that I was full and satisfied. From the AYCE Mini Course BBQ + Salad Bar, it was a foodie dream and experience. Everything met expectations in terms of flavor, except for the Cheese Ramyun (a tad too salty for me). I paired my meal with a refreshing Raspberry Iced Tea. Marisa was my server during the entire dining experience. I commend her for the spectacular service she has given me. Please give her a raise because when I dined solo on this visit, and I stepped away momentarily to the salad bar, she placed my meats on the grill for me to get it going. I've never had anyone do this for me. I highly appreciated this level of service and her hospitable, affable spirit. I loved the decor displayed throughout the restaurant. Arrived as a party of 3 on a Friday night and waited about 10 minutes to be seated. The space itself has plenty of seating and wasn't fully packed, but they seemed pretty short-staffed with only two people covering the entire floor and taking orders for AYCE. We went with the Family Course which is $33/person but didn't order a great variety and we aren't really a fan of marinated meats. Mostly opted for brisket, beef belly, and pork belly which were of decent quality. We were really impressed and enjoyed the buffet item varieties like kimchi, japchae, veggies, miso soup and spicy rice cakes! All the items we tried were fresh and delicious. We also enjoyed the kitchen items like steamed egg and cold noodles. The DIY Ramen bar was also really fun and a great addition to the dining experience. Overall, it was an enjoyable meal, our server was super busy but still tried his absolute best to take care of us. I think next time I would go with the mini-course that has everything that we're looking for already in the BBQ and while also enjoying the buffet items. First off: You'll be hard pressed to find ANY restaurants open past 10pm, let alone a buffet. Under $30 for a buffet that's open until 11pm, not to mention Korean BBQ? And this isnt LA, its in Sacramento? Excuse me!? I can't believe I've driven by this place so many times , before stopping to check it out. I absolutely love Korean BBQ, and any place outside of Orange or LA County that serves Korean BBQ, frankly has a lot of rep to live up to because of how amazing the Korean BBQ scene is down south. This place generally does not disappoint. If you've ever eaten at a Korean BBQ, you might be familiar with several small 'sides' of food that come with your main order or Korean BBQ. Those are called Ban-Chan (there's a whole history about them, if you ever want to search the internet for more info). Most places I've been to, do refills but the refills are hit or miss, depending on the attentiveness of the service person. The actual ban Chan selection isn't as good as most Korean BBQ, however the sushi selection is very good. You have to check out their happy hour pricing: Korean BBQ for under $17 just can't be beat ! This place loses a star for the service. I really dislike having to ask for water refills, again, and again, and again, ...and not get a water refill. Got the feeling this was not an anomoly. Took way too long for meat refills. Wish I could say we were the only table I noticed this happening to. Were there lots of wait staff? Couldn't say there was. So I think this could be related more to not hiring enough people, which doesn't make me love that energy. That makes things stressful for us, and I'm certain it makes the wait staff feel stressed, too. The miso soup is self serve, and is super tasty. The whole inside is decorated with a Korean vibe, which I appreciate in comparison to a place that opts for a cookie modern looking interior that looks like every place else. I really enjoyed this restaurant. For the cost of roughly $25 you get array of tasty meats,seafood,sushi, salad gar items and soup assortment. Service was pretty good. The servers came pretty quickly to take our orders, clear our plates and change out the grills. The decor made you feel like you were in Korea. Immediate fan for KBBQ in SAC. The service was really good especially for coming an hour and a half before closing. The self serve bar had sushi, all the regular sides, soups, and rice. This was the first time I've seen smores at KBBQ along with a ramen station where you can make your own ramen. Even though, I didn't get to try the ramen it was still crazy they had it on top of everything else. This was an easy go-to Kbbq spot, short wait and food was good but over the years it started to lack a lot of things. I came here frequently because they offered a mini course, which is such a good deal if you don't want so much for kbbq. I'm not sure if I'll be back anytime soon now. The service I received this one day was probably the worst service ever. Server was not attentive at all and did not follow any of our orders as simple as getting us water when asked multiple times. We barely got to order our rounds, we maxed at 3 rounds with just two bowls of meat each round because we waited so long for our server. The sides have gotten more bland and not as flavorful. Disappointed by the entire experience. I was excited for the metal food trays and the seaweed rolls, pork skin, chicken gizzards that I saw in the Yelp photos but it seems they got rid all of that. Metal food trays would be been so much more convenient grabbing the banchans than individual tiny bowls. That would've made this place stand out amongst other kbbq places, it's too bad they got rid of it. The customer service was also very lacking, they barely checked on us and we had to flag the down every time to order more food. Bullta Korean BBQ has usually been my favorite KBBQ spot in the Sacramento area, which makes this experience even more disappointing. We came to celebrate my birthday, and unfortunately it was the worst service I've ever received here. Our server, Ara, spent much of the time sitting behind us on her phone (I even have photos for proof). We were rarely checked on and had to go through much of our meal without being offered additional meat selections. At one point, we sat with empty water glasses for nearly half the meal because they were never refilled. To make matters worse, our table was never cleared throughout the entire dining experience, leaving plates and dishes piled up as we ate. The level of attentiveness was practically nonexistent. Part of the reason I chose Bullta for my birthday was because of the fun and energetic atmosphere I've experienced in the past. This time there was no birthday song, no celebration, and none of the special touches or prizes that made previous visits memorable. I've always recommended Bullta to friends and family, but this visit left me extremely disappointed. Great food can only make up for so much when the service is this poor. I am a huge fan of kbbq as I love Blue House and Korean Oz. This one in particular I think has better quality of meats and a wider variety and bang for your buck aspect. The reasoning of this 3 star isn't for the employees themselves because they were great but their arms are spread very thin. I'm here for lunch at 1:30 and I got seated at 1:00 and all I've gotten was 1 round of kbbq and 1 grill change with no refill. Came here for AYCE KBBQ and it was super good! The interior is beautiful and this setting is great for both families and hungry college students. Sushi was really tasty, gimbap was a little disappointing though. Kimchi jiggae was pretty good. The fruit was outstanding (pineapple, green grapes, oranges). I also really liked the mung bean salad and cucumber kimchi. Whenever something ran out, someone on staff was immediately wiring the kitchen about it. The beef brisket was delicious, not too much fat on most pieces even when some plates looked like 50% fat before cooking . I tried one round of beef belly and it was just gross how much fat there was, so we went back to the beef brisket and preferred its flavor. The service here was amazing especially given that we were a party of like 50+ (reserved). Orders came as fast as possible and they were slicing meat as we ate. The older Korean woman who served our table was especially great. When I forgot my Invisalign and came back for it, she found it in the kitchen and rinsed it for me before handing it over and she was so sweet and nice about it. The decor is on point. If you like the aesthetics of a rave! Had really high hopes based on reviews. The menu looked a little hectic but I was not prepared for the chaos that was trying to have dinner here. Everything tasted like bad fish. Even the broccoli. I had to spit out several of the appetizers that were made to order. The cold bar was useless. The premade buffet sushi was terrible. I didn't know food could taste like nothing and actively had at the same time. A couple of highlights were the bulgogi beef and chicken and the boneless short ribs. Everything else was mediocre or bad. The service was horrible. We spent more time sitting and not eating waiting on what we ordered than we did eating. We did the $10 add on for hot pot which was the only saving grace for myself. The robots made it more confusing and the servers didn't seem to care. She said it will be quick as she just needed to seat the 2 groups ahead of us. Another 15 mins have gone by and we were not seated. The host was in between her station in the front and in the back doing other duties. While she was in the front, she ignored all the other customers that came in after us. Again, no acknowledgments or informing customers that she will be with them shortly. She definitely lacked in proper customer service. We were finally seated. The menus were really dirty. Water cup had lipstick stains. Our server was nice and pretty attentive at least. He explained how it works since it was our first time there. We selected the Bullta Course. Meats are order through the server. Banchan, appetizers, sides, some sushi and utensils are all self serve. There is a instant ramen station as well. The meat quality and flavors were alright. Still 5 stars and upgraded to my kids favorite place to eat for celebrations! The make it yourself ramen is their fav. And birthdays are so much fun here with the amazing staff! Last time we visited i walked in with the 3 kiddos while dad was finishing a call in the car. I am not a KBBQ connoisseur by any means, but I'll go if someone wants to go. In this case, it was my daughter's birthday, and she wanted KBBQ. Overall, I'm rating Bullta a 3.5. We got the Bullta all you can eat option. I got to try large intestine for the first time, and it was great! I would say the meats are pretty standard. Our waitress was efficient and kind! For me, the downsides were in two areas. First, the sides (which you get yourself at the buffet) were below my expectations. The cucumbers were not crunchy, they didn't offer fish cake, and overall none of the banchan were very flavorful on their own. The rice was also self-serve from a huge rice cooker and was not piping hot. The other area was the drinks. I got a margarita. The flavor was fine but I could not detect any alcohol in it and didn't even get a nice buzz. I felt like I had spent $12 for a fancy water. Maybe I should have ordered a bottle of soju. They also have a "Bullta" course for $39.95 which includes more meat selections like wagyu, pork jowl and prime steak. They have a sauce bar, salad bar, and banchan bar that is self-served. I wished there was more banchans to choose from. Some meats we tried include, brisket, beef bulgogi, boneless finger rib, beef belly, boneless galbi, thin-cut pork belly and pork shoulder. I liked the brisket, beef belly, and boneless galbi. The boneless finger rib was too chewy making it hard to eat. The thin-cut pork belly was a bit too thin for my liking. The bulgogi was on the sweeter side. We got the corn cheese and steamed eggs to try from the appetizers. We loved the corn cheese! The meat and appetizers were brought out to us by a robot. For dipping sauces, I like the one that contained ponzu sauce with garlic and jalapeño or just a simple mixture of salt and pepper with sesame oil. There's a few AYCE options and the higher priced items also include ordering fresh, made to order sushi and other delicacies! The first few times I've been here, the bar where you get all your fixings and items such as sushi rolls was not as fresh as I would have liked. This most recent experience had fresh items and the bar was well stocked! I love to see these improvements. They do have your DIY Ramen station which I love too. Customers need to pay attention to the ramen making instructions when they do this on their own. If I had choose one KBBQ place to go to, it will havbe Bullta! I've been going Bullta since they first opened and I believe it's the most consistent kbbq restaurant I've ever been to! The restaurant is huge, and when you first step in, you're greeted with loud K-pop music and the host. I typically go for dinner on weekends and it can be busy during that time. Once seated, the server will ask you which option you would like, and I always choose the family course. Every time we go, we MUST order the corn cheese and steamed egg, and I think they have the best in Sacramento. As for meats, my go-to's are the marinated boneless shortrib, beef belly (my personal favorite), brisket and thin cut pork belly! You are allowed to order 3 meats at a time and however many sides you want, but we try to limit that to get our money's worth. After ordering meats, you can go to the self-serve bar and get some side dishes. My plate will always have the meat sauce, house spicy sauce, some raw jalapeño and garlic, cucumber kimchi, pink daikon, and the julienned green onion. The tender and delicious meat in combination with the side dishes is so good, and the acidity from the sides helps with not getting tired of the fattiness. The food gets served by robots that follow paths around the restaurant and will stop in front of your table with your food and will have a receipt on it for verification. I prefer being served by people as the robots could get in the way of people and may bump into them. As for the grill itself, I like that it is constantly sucks in the smoke as you're grilling, rather than having a vent hang above you and honestly those don't work that well. I do miss the metal trays that had before that had little sections for side dishes, now they have round dishes that don't hit the same but still do the job. Our servers are always coming by to make sure we received our orders and offer to put in more if it looks like we're finishing up, which is nice. They also put an effort into talking with us and answer any questions we have about the menu or certain items. I like to end my meal with getting a spicy cold noodle with some pork belly which is something everyone should try! Overall, Bullta is an incredible place to get kbbq and it's a fantastic place to bring some friends and pig out! This past weekend, after driving by it so many times, we finally gave Bullta a try. We were in the mood for some KBBQ and said let's "give it a shot". We got there at roughly 4:30 pm and it wasn't busy at all. The host immediately sat us down and got us waters shortly after we sat down. The whole staff was very attentive and was frequently checking in on our table which is always GREAT. The dining area is also quite spacious and very modern looking with TVs almost everywhere around. BULTA offers both KBBQ and hotpot for those craving both, this time around we only chose the KBBQ mini course. The mini course has a variety of options for pretty good price. Included in this all is the ramen bar as well as the salad and hot food bar. The meats are brought to you by a mini robot and you just take and the robot goes away. The Cajun meats were all well seasoned but if you want different flavors for your meats they have a lot to offer in their salad bar. The food at the hot food bar was pretty good and tasted fresh. They have different sushi rolls and fried noodles as well as other mini bites. Their ramen bar has a variety of different buddak noodles and different broths as well. The interior was decorated pretty nicely, it gave a karaoke or club vibe and the bathrooms were decorated with a lot of bling which was pretty cool! There is an ayce area where you can get your own banchan and appetizers which I liked and it was something I haven't seen at a kbbq place before! They had a lot of options from kimchi stew soup, rice cakes, chow mein, dumplings and so much more! The meat quality was decent, my personal favorite was the bullta prime steak! You also do get complimentary ice cream at the end and if you end up going for a birthday, they do sing for you and have a whole birthday thing for you which I thought was cute! but heads up it was super loud lol On the other hand, their menus were so dirty, i had to keep wiping them because past food residue got all over my fingers and it was so gross. The table felt a bit small and the portions of the meat felt very small especially when you have a table of 6 eating, 1 plate of meat would only feed like 1-2 people, not 6.. for example, we would order the beef brisket and it would only come with 7 slices of meat? that's 1 slice per person? who is that feeding? you would think it would get portioned a bit more for larger parties.. and the rounds of meat did take a while to get to us too which was annoying, especially when you could only order 3 meats per round but each meat was just portioned sooooo small. i barely got to eat any meat because i gave some out to all of my family first and there wouldn't be a lot for me at the end. I ended up filling myself up on the appetizers at the ayce bar which idk if that's the reason they have it? but i didn't like how I felt like I wasn't getting my moneys worth of meat! Service was great, the meets were marinated really well and their tteokbokki was perfect. Didn't know they also had sushi! And it was good

3.5 stars . This our second time coming and on our first time the waitress was very helpful and attentive. But this time we had a waitress was not too helpful. She just did her job. She would come by and switch out the grill and not say a word and then go lower the heat setting Even though we were still trying to cook , And we never got drink refills until we finally asked. And she just seemed half annoyed by any Request we Made but she was pretty quick and besides that she wasn't bad. We brought our friends and we had a lot of fun, eating the hot pot and trying all the side dishes. The food was pretty good. I recommend the galbi and the spicy octopus! The regular and spicy cold noodles are also good! The restaurant is very cute and it really has a Korean vibe and you feel like you're in Korea from the deco and kpop .
