This is a tough review. We're happy with the technicians, they get the job done, they are knowledgeable and care about the work they do, no real complaints with them, they were a good experience. We're not happy with the AI phone system and the AI scheduling system. It's absolutely terrible, it's frustrating and the phone system will get you going in circles and take you nowhere. I looked up multiple customer service numbers for Sears Repair in multiple different states and every single one of them took me back to the AI iPhone system, you can no longer talk to a person at Sears Repair unless that person calls you, there's no way to leave a message for anyone and when we were supposed to have a phone call before the technicians came out It seemed as though the AI decided that phone call wasn't needed and scheduled us for two weeks after our original repair date. The AI system does not recognize any type of situation or program outside of its narrow scope of use, and it will not connect you to a live person that could help you with your situation. This truly is an example of how bad AI can hurt a company. On paper it looks good and it looks like they are saving money by implementing the system, but in reality, they have lost a customer because of it. Again the technicians were good and would get five stars, the AI scheduling and call system get zero stars. Because of the great technicians I averaged up and gave the experience three stars. read more

I'm very grateful that Andrew accepted our assignment at 4.30 pm and called me at 7 pm to inform me that he was coming to install the spare parts for the washer door. I was surprised that he was doing so on his overtime because I had not received any notification from Sears that a technician had been assigned to me and after 5 pm. When no one showed up after 5 pm I had taken for granted that Sears again had let me done the second time since no technician showed up on 17 April as promised. I knew that when I called Sears on Monday 4 May to reschedule the ' no show ' of a technician for Friday 1 May that the next date would be again almost 2 weeks away from 1 May because Sears does not have enough technicians as they did a year ago before they implemented this new AI technology. So you don't know how surprised, amazed and grateful I was when Andrew called me at 7pm to inform me that he was coming to install the replacement parts for the washer door on Friday 1 May. Andrew arrived at 7.30 pm and I was amazed that he had to dismantle this 10 year old washer to be able to install the 2 parts for the washer door and he left at 9 pm. Having to always wait two weeks for the next appointment seems too long especially if there is no assurance that a technician will show up at all which means having to wait another 2 weeks for a 'follow up' appointment for this first 'no show' appointment. Even when a technician showed up on Friday 1 May it was only because Andrew was willing to work overtime when he received my assignment at 4.30 pm where as the person who was previously assigned to my job was unwilling to do so After Andrew did a ' diagnostic test ' to see if the door lock was functioning correctly he wasn't aware that there was still some water left in the drum. When I looked at the dorm after he left on Friday night I was very surprised that there was some water in the drum so I did a ' Rinse / Spin ' cycle to try to eliminate the water and I was more surprised at the excessive noise on the spin cycle from the beginning which had never existed before which I have recorded for evidence. However, just to be sure that the noise was till present when I did a wash, on Saturday indeed there is an unusual noise on the high spin is still present which should not be occurring during such a spin cycle and I also have record this 'erratic noise ' level. After I heard the noise on a ' high spin cycle ' on Saturday I called Sears to report this issue on Saturday 2 May and the order # is Order 13683566 and the technician is not coming as usual for another 2 weeks on Friday 15 May. I just have to ' hope and pray ' that Sears will honor their commitment on 15 May and have a technician come to look at this issue for us and not let me down from my usual past experiences I'm sure that I'm not the only one who's experiencing Sears not keeping their promise in having a technicians not show up on the day that they promised they would and making us wait another two weeks for a 'follow up' appointment which might be dubious unless a technician is willing to work overtime I have never had these issues with Sears until they switched over to this new AI system very recently which seems to have prompted many veteran technicians to quit working for Sears for whatever reason. There must be a reason why so many veteran technicians have quit and we the customers are the victims by having to wait 2 weeks for any appointments due to the scarcity of technicians now. However, regarding the service provided by Andrew on Friday 1 May I am eternally grateful that he came at 7 pm and installed the 2 parts for the washing machine lock to remedy the problem for us. How fortunate for us the Customer and for Sears that you do have technicians like Andrew who are willing to work overtime and fulfill Sears promise to their customers that a technician will show up as promised on the appointed day of their appointment. read more

Service technician are very irresponsible. Repair request for washer: Water was dripping into the drum on our washer when not using. Still machine can be used. First appointment, a technician showed up 4:45pm ( appointment window was 1-5pm) and found out the issue. Estimate was provided, but discount from sears protection plans was not applied. Technician could not adjust the estimate and still asked for payment. I refused for payment because discount from the protection plan was not applied, technician ended up left due to overtime. Then appointment was automatically cancelled by the technician. Second appointment, same technician came for rescheduled appointment. I agreed with the estimate and parts delivered to my house. Third appointment, same technician came and tried to repair, but he said parts is broken. I asked him to put the an old parts back, so that I can still use the washer. After he replaced the old parts, washer was not working. He said other parts is now broken and claimed to order. Additional estimates was $226.80. I was very upset because washer is not working although was working before he touched. He said " I was not paid enough to dealing with this" and he left again as a first appointment. He also ended up to leave by taking parts I paid and not to put the parts back he removed. I'm very disappointed about Sears protection plan which I pay for $60.00 per month. It's not even worth it. This company is the worse. I need a receipt from freezer repair done in November to give to my landlord. The request was submitted by John Schutte. $735.34 no receipt, no customer service and the freezer is still not freezing food properly. Norman was the repair man. I charged it on my Visa and can't dispute the charge because I have no receipt. They have no human who can help and I get the message the email is incorrect when I try to email as I was instructed. I should have read all the negative reviews before scheduling the repair of my Kenmore dryer with Sears Home Services, which has become a big joke by going with all AI agents. It was easy to book an appointment but trying to talk to a real person to request a refund for the service not performed is impossible. I booked an appointment for 12/18/25 way ahead of time. A technician showed up with a trainee. After looking at the dryer, the technician determined that the control board was fried, most likely due to all the HECO power outage and power surge. Gave me an estimate for the part and labor cost, and asked me to pay if I decided to fix my dryer and purchase the control board. My dryer has been broken for more than 8 months and I just couldn't take it any more so I agreed to the estimate and prepaid $569.66 using my credit card. Initially, the repair appointment was scheduled for 1/8/26, the earliest date for another Sears technician to do the actual repair. On 12/22/25, Richard, Sears' AI virtual assistant texted saying that they had an opening on 12/26/25 and asked if I would like to take it, which I did. On 12/26/25, I waited at home for a Sears technician to show up between 1 pm and 5 pm. At 2:26 pm, I got a text from the AI saying that no one would show up and to reschedule if I wanted to. I picked my originally scheduled date of 1/8/26 again. Well, yesterday was 1/8/26, I waited at home again for a Sears technician to show up between 1 pm and 5 pm. At 2:12 pm, Richard the AI agent texted again to reschedule and the earliest date would be 1/29/26, 3 weeks from now!!! WTH! I already prepaid everything but Sears kept canceling on me. I was fuming. Called their 800 number, trying to talk to a real person to ask for a refund for what I prepaid. Of course, another AI agent, this time a female voice, got on the phone with me who couldn't do anything to help me. When I demanded to talk to a real person, the AI agent told me Sears Home Services has gone ALL AI!!! I was so mad and started yelling at the AI agent to ask for a refund and she told me to visit the Sears Home Services website, which I did but there's nothing on the website to even send an email to request for a refund. Thankfully, I paid with my credit card so I am disputing the charge now through my credit card company. I will never call Sears Home Services again to repair any of my appliances! read more

The warranty sucks, they charge you monthly ($60) and when you try to call to get service, they refer you to someone else who don't even show up. Why aren't you guys coming over? Had Sears warranty over 10 years. Last few years service has gone down badly. This last service on my washer was rescheduled without even a email or call from a technician. Now with the original trouble call it will be a month since the technician has come to my residence to repair the issue. And there website doesn't allow you to reschedule a sooner date even it there's an early date on there website. I would highly recommend that you do not get there warranty plan and look for someone locally. Also there new automated phone service doesn't allow you to speak to a live person anymore. They will escalate my order and will contact me if there is an earlier date to service my dryer. This doesn't help my situation. My dryer is still not working and it shouldn't take 4 months to get it fixed. I pay the monthly fee and paid the deductible. I expect the get the service I paid for in a timely manner not months later. Horrible customer service. Save yourself the money and headache! read more

On 6/22, I went online and made an appointment to fix my dryer. I paid the $100 deductible. Now this is the 3rd time my appointment was been reschedule. Original appointment was on 7/14 the technician was sick so it was rescheduled to 8/5. The technician came and ordered parts. They were suppose to fix it on 8/30. The appointment was reschedule to 9/17. Now I get another reschedule date to 10/15. I was told the reason being the parts did not come in. However the parts arrived on 8/15. This is unacceptable! I called the number and tried to speak to a live agent. Samantha the AI agent rescheduled my appointment back to the original date of 9/17. I asked again to speak to a live agent. She said none is available. I asked to get a confirmation she said I would get a text or email. I didn't get anything so I chatted on the website and had to pretend to order parts to get to a live agent. I chatted with Stefan and Raymond the manager. All they can say is "I am really sorry, I have checked twice with all the resources, however currently we do not have any technician available prior to Oct 15th." and "I truly apologize, I have checked there is no technician available prior to October 15th, however I have already escalated your appointment. so it will be checked if there is any sooner service get's available, you will be notified to move the appointment up" This is really unacceptable and horrible customer service. This is my first time ever writing a Yelp review but I felt compelled to comment on the disappointing service from Sears Home Services. I have used them in the past with good results so I didn't even think about checking reviews first. If I had I never would have made the appointment since the reviews are overwhelmingly negative. The inability to ever actually speak to a real person when you have a problem is very frustrating. My first 2 appointments were "no shows". Waited all day. The technician did finally show up for the 3rd appointment but did only a cursory check of the maintenance service I contracted for 4 appliances. Sears home service canceled on us TWICE. Because of this, we have been without a refrigerator for a month. Each time, the cancelation comes the day of - after we have arranged to be home for the repair person. Makes me wonder if they ever had someone scheduled. Horrible service. I took the day off now I need to take another day off and we can't use our dryer for another 4 days.
