When you go to a brewing company you expect the beer to be off the charts but not necessarily the food. So when you come here and end up with great BBQ to go with the beer! Now you're talking. I love seeing a beer menu where everything is not just an IPA, so it was really a tough decision on which beer to get and I ended up going with the marionberry hefe. Now wait a minute....before making any girly beer comments, this was not the case. I asked the waiter before hand and he assured me the marrionberry wasn't overpowering and he was right. It was really a great tasting beer and right on target for the beach. The food? Ok, ya ya, I'm getting to it. So I was suprised when looking at the menu that there was some good BBQ selections although I didn't see much in the way of advertising this as a BBQ restaurant. I went with the rib platter with Mac & cheese, and BBQ beans. The wife went with the pulled pork sandwich with fries. With a soda and a beer it came out to $45 which wasn't too bad for what we got. Couldn't really finish eating it all and I can put the stuff away. The mac & cheese was just so so, I didnt dislike it, but its not grandmas mac. The beans where good, but more of a tex mex style instead of BBQ beans the way I like them. Really the rating was like 4 1/2 stars and the sides kept it from being a 5. The ribs? Well they where the star of the show like they should be. They were very tender and meaty. I am guessing that they were brined first, the smoke was on the light side so I think they are pulled off a little early to reheat later, but they were good. The wife usually doesn't eat ribs but she ended up eating half of mine. Thats OK though, because that means I got her pulled pork. My wife loves pulled pork but not with sauce, they had this already mixed in with a light sauce. It was very moist and juice though. I love a lot of sauce on mine, but this light sauce was perfect. One of the better pulled pork I have had and you can't miss on it...unless your like my wife. Not sure if the slaw comes on the sandwich or not, but i have learned over the years to ask for it to be on the side,, wife doesn't do slaw. I almost didn't try the slaw because I was too full, but I figured I owed it to you do so. I wish I hadn't because really the slaw had no flavor at all it was like they left the dressing off all together. The fries came out smoking hot temperature wise and had great seasoning on it. You get the extras like pickles, onion, jalapeños. So if you dont want jalapeños touching your fries...yea...another thing that my wife doesn't like. ..then say something. We are only in town for a couple days, and I know I'll be fighting the urge to just come back so I can try the brisket. read more

Seaside Brewing Company in the off-season is the definition of what a person should experience at a brewery! Amazing beer, really good food, great atmosphere, and amazing service. We have been here a few times and have run into numerous service and food issues while they are very busy. Tonight was absolutely perfect on levels. I have had the burger before and really enjoyed it. Today I branched our and tried the Ruben. So I just capitalized that word because OMFG if you like these sandwiches you have to try this one. Immediately became the best Ruben I have ever had in my life! The meat is cured I house with their own Sneaker Wave IPA. Which btw is also a very well balanced hopped beer. The sauerkraut made in house has the perfect flavor and crunch. You just need to eat this sandwich. While you are at it get a flight because it iust makes things easy for people like us that can't make decisions and don't want to settle. The atmosphere of the old seaside jail is really cool and the service in the off season was absolutely perfect. Wow. Ordered the cheeseburger and it came out looking pink. Had about 5 bites and it was looking more and more raw and was getting colder inside. We brought this attention to a employee there. Then a manager-I guess-comes over and says "this is how the burgers should look-they are smoked." What? Ok well it's cold...they did replace it but by the time it came back we didn't really want it-kind of lost my appetite. Kids had the pretzels-cold, hard and way too much salt. Clam chowder was decent and so were the fish tacos & fries. Husband had the pork burrito and didn't feel good later on. Main course was the brisket, and get the brisket. The sides of baked beans and pork belly mac were not memorable and I wouldn't order them again. But, oh, that brisket. Seaside is a town that we usually drive through on our way to our moms house. Yesterday we were trapped on 101 due to a massive accident and landed on the patio of Seaside Brewing- great fish tacos, cute dog-friendly patio with a fire and my favorite- very nice friendly waitstaff. If I had to, HAD TO, write a small critique - it would be to offer a more authentic Cesar dressing that isn't sweet. We will be back, next time as a destination. read more

The fish and chips were good. The others who ordered the Rueben and pulled pork said it was fine but not the best. The pork wasn't enough food. I tasted 6 beers and I wasn't overly impressed. The staff were very accommodating and friendly. I personally will try another place in town before returning here. Go at your own RISK! INCOMPETENT Management! 8.28.2021 - ordered tacos, 3 desserts and a root beer. Everyone in my dinner party received their meals, except for me. We talked to the staff . . . no food showed up. We then talked to the manager . . . I was told my order was the problem??????? I ordered tacos. They have fish, pork or brisket tacos - how hard can it be?????? The 2nd time we talked to the manager - he returned to our table with an empty "to go" box. I'm not making this up! See the attached photos! Maybe he thought that since everyone at my table was done eating I would want it "to go?" Couldn't he have just brought me my tacos? Then 10 minutes later he gave me a refund of the $38 that I had spent on my meal, but not the $10 tip I had paid upfront when I placed my order. He told me he had placed another order of tacos for me. The newly ordered tacos never showed up either. I did see tacos being brought to other tables. 70 minutes was obviously not enough time for an order of tacos. I was dumbfounded! I am really shocked at how BADLY this was handled! They were tacos for pete's sake. My son managed a restaurant in his previous life, so I always try to be considerate to restaurant workers and the staff. I tip well above 30% for good service! I've seen my son pick up a rag and start bussing a table when we are traveling and walk into a restaurant and he realizes they are short staffed - just to be kind, but THIS????????? A great place to stop by for a weekend in Seaside! The wait was not long for a Saturday lunch and the host let us pick the table we wanted to sit out. Beers were not bad and food was pretty good. We got the oyster shooter, tasted pretty fresh and very horseradishy. Beware if that's not what you like! The sampler platter is a good call for sharing so you can have a bite of everything: brisket, ribs, sausage, and sides! I've been here four times over the years. The first two, six years ago, were fantastic. Two years ago, it was bad, but it was also in the middle of COVID. This time, full-on suck. The burger was a hockey puck. No lie, it was crunchy. The fries were the plain old frozen "classic" fry offerings from the likes of Sysco. That's it. Never again. It's basically institutional food like you might get at a hospital, ski resort, Elks club, or college. Their beer is decent and great service from Stewart. Staff is incredibly rude and abrasive. We parked behind the restaurant at 10 AM to go to the restaurant next door for brunch not realizing the parking area was "designated only" for the brewery. The brewery wasn't even open, yet a man chased down my wife and in a confrontational manor, yelled at her to move our vehicle. There is no indication that the parking area is only for the brewery. The parking lot was empty, yet I moved my vehicle 20 feet to another spot in the same parking lot beyond their "invisible parking lot line." This interaction leaves me to believe that this is the type of customer service one might expect with this establishment. There are plenty of great restaurants on Broadway in Seaside - avoid this one if our experience is any indicator of what you can expect. Updated response to Mr. Jimmy G. Came through from Portland, to get away for the weekend and stayed nearby within walking distance. There were several restaurants open and we weren't quite sure which places had dining inside, as by the coast the humidity index is higher, which in turn makes for a chilly night. You order your drinks and dinner at the bar and sit either outside by the fire or inside. There are a few tables scattered around. We ordered the fish and chips, which I would not recommend as it had a star anise taste to the batter. I can't quite put my finger on whether it was clove, star anise, or something to that effect, but it did not blend well with the battered cod. We had a relaxing weekend evening with some good brew and even bought some merchandise as we were leaving. What we had for dinner wasn't particularly enthralling, but we were taken care of and had an interesting history lesson on the seaside riots. read more

If you're visiting Seaside and are looking for an attractive place to dine or grab a drink, this is your place. It's super packed in the evening but is forlorn in the morning because they just started doing breakfast. And it was obvious. I ordered an O.J. and was shocked they served it with ice. Who does that? So I asked for it without ice. When I tasted it, it was clear: this was from a can (hence the slice of orange). Furthermore, the food was decent but bereft in different ways. The food from Pig 'N Pancake was more tasteful and scrumptious than this beautiful brewery. The execution seemed perfunctory and was sadly disappointing. As stated before their breakfast is inchoate, which is why I'm forgiving with my rating. This place has a lot of potential and I hope they don't take advantage of that ipso facto. read more

My family and I were planning to grab early lunch at another nearby restaurant before hitting the road out of town, but when that had a 45 minute wait we walked just next door to Seaside Brewery. Great twist of fate! We didn't actually try any brews though, overall, all of our food choices were well-prepared and quick to come out of the kitchen. Definitely go for the pork belly mac 'n cheese and they have a great clam chowder! I ordered the portabello sandwich and it could've used a bit more excitement on it for $16, however. It was just a cooked mushroom (didn't taste any sort of marinade or anything) with some chevre on top and undressed greens. I would've like some sort of spread/aioli on the bun, something crunchy inside for texture contrast, or just some other flavor to sandwich as a whole. However, those pickled onions they serve on all of the BBQ plates are slammin'!! The brewery has two floors (we sat upstairs) and has it's own dedicated parking lot, which is a big plus on busy weekends. It is also very family friendly! They offer a kids menu with crayons and have small bins of toys/books available to help entertain little ones. Looking at other past reviews here on Yelp, they are kind of all over the place, so maybe Seaside Brewery lacks a bit of consistency. I only gave it a star because I had to. We had ordered chicken nuggets & fries, cod tacos, and an order of brisket tacos. The ONLY item edible was the chicken nuggets & fries, and that was the cheapest item at $6. The cod in the taco was huge so it was hard to eat and too much fish. The brisket tacos were so salty my lips are burning after just eating one of them. I set my plate aside leaving the 2 other tacos untouched. I informed the waitress when she asked if I wanted a box and she literally laughed and took the plate away. Then proceeded to bring me the bill with the $16 tacos. I got another waiters attention and he adjusted it to $9.75. So I just ate the most expensive and disgusting brisket taco of my life, and my lips are still burning from all the salt. We were able to be seated right away here which was nice. The food was pretty good and the service was also pretty good. We had clam chowder and chili fries with cheese. The person taking our order was not super friendly but also not rude. I would say it was just an average experience overall. I would not avoid it but I won't rush back, either. read more
