Overall, pretty good. We went there on a Friday for Dinner (6 pmish) and it was pretty empty. We were a bit nervous, but decided to try them anyway. We were happily surprised with how fresh and not overcooked most of the food was. The restaurant is beautiful and clean. We plan to come back, possibly on a Saturday or Sunday when it is busier. Pros: * Most of the food was good; small batches so it stayed fresh. * Nice service * Clean restaurant * Sushi section is amazing Cons: * Some of the food was way over cooked or had just sat too long. We tried a Taro bun and we couldn't even get the paper off it * Bland crab legs. There were cooked well, so if you are a crab & butter lover, it's good. Extra: * Plenty of parking * Plenty of seating * Bar area * The price seems right for the selection and variety that they off.

Delicious and great deal! 6/21/25 Very big and spacious inside and lots of food variety. Everything I tried tasted fresh. The ice cream was pretty good. The sorbets were on the lighter side. Service was good too. Great for big groups!

Still great! Came for lunch, love the sushi selection especially the jalapeno sushi and fried salmon skin. Large variety of food to choose from for around $19. One waitress is super nice and helpful. I like the movie choices they put on the TVs as well. Overall, we love coming here because it's spacious, bright, clean, and the people are always nice to us.

We came here for my mom's birthday. We are finding that there really does not seem to be any real good buffets in SD anymore. We used to frequent a different place on Miramar but I don't believe it's open anymore. We headed out around 4 pm on a Sunday. We got there; there was plenty of parking. We went inside and took a walk around to see what they had to offer. They seemed to have cold seafood, some sushi in the front area. Fruits/ jellos right next to the chocolate fountain. I think the idea of the fountain is fun for kids but it isn't exactly that tasty. Then there was a section for desserts and a freezer of Thrifty's ice cream. Most of it was sherbert or some gelati (Italian sorbet -like). They had chocolate, vanilla, coffee and strawberry ice cream. They had a make your own s'mores bar which is good for kids. Hot food section, fried egg rolls, chonuts (Chinese donuts)some chicken wings, French fries, etc. They had hot crab legs, HUGE oysters, crayfish, clams, steamed Rex sole, snails!! and even duck! and the typical Chinese dishes as well. They carried typical soups and a few 'dim sum' like items. They had a slab of brisket out. Next stop was the noodle station as well as Teppanyaki grill. We got some galbi fried up, I have to say that was pretty delicious. It was a tad salty but we grabbed the ones sitting in the marinade. We were disappointed in the crab here, it didn't have much flavor at all, it should have some salt from the ocean but none of that. As if the crab legs were rinsed until there was no flavor. They did have a 10% discount for seniors, and you can print out a $2 off coupon for dinner. That isn't much for a table of 5. I will say that the staff were definitely working nonstop and they did a good job of putting out new food and replacing the dishes. It was also very clean at this restaurant. My mom said she had never been to such a clean bathroom at a buffet place. My mom did note that everything was not overly salty like a lot of buffets. That was a huge plus since she has to watch her salt intake. Would I come again? I might consider it down the road, but I would hope that some things would change. Food was ok, some things were good, some things were not good. The staff was the best thing here. Service: 5/5 Ambiance 4/5 Food: 3/5

It's been a while since our last visit here, I believe it was 3 years ago and I remember back then this buffet is really good, but on our recent visit it seems like the food was not as good as before. They all look good and were presented well but it's just not that tasty anymore , but some are still good and still they have lots of Seafood selections . The place was not packed at all either, it was probably a weekday. We will try this buffet again over the weekend to see if the selections of food will be good and much better. But customer service was always good and plenty of space for parking .

Visited 01/24/2025 Friday Night Dinner. Everything was Fresh and And Seasoned Well and a Great Selection Also. Many Great Stations to choose from for Soups, Fried, Steamed, Baked, food and even a Meat Carving Station. Noodle Bar included with a selection of thins to add. Drinks are extra but refills are free. This is a good Choice when you want a Tasty Asian Seafood Buffet.

A steel scrubber found in their food.

Found a steel scrubber in my food. Told the waitress and they removed the dish tray, offered me a 10% discount. Good thing this is my second plate and I pay the check and don't want to eat anything there. Not recommended.

Ate here last night Good food good variety. Very clean and great service A little disappointed int he dessert options. We chose this buffet for that reason-website stating cotton candy, smores and chocolate fountain No sign of cotton candy, smores station was lacking - no flame (probably could have asked staff) but no graham crackers either. Chocolate fountain was there but verrrry little dipping options! Melon pineapple and oranges only.... None of which go great with chocolate like that... ive been other buffets with way more options. Ice cream gets points because thrifty is awesome, but there were zero toppings. And also slightly put off because it was self serve and some of the ice creams/sorbets looked a mess and melted.... I probably would try different buffets in the future but it wasnt bad.

Cookies and cream, and chocolate ice cream.

Great price for lunch! Less than $20. Staff was great as well. They have thrifty ice cream, a s'mores station, and a chocolate fountain. It's worth it just for the dessert.

12/27/2024 - I went here Friday around 11:15am. There was just two families here. The food is spread out which I like which forces you to walk around and not be stuck in a line. A great variety of food to choose from. I printed a $1 off per person coupon. The prices are a little higher than I was expecting and we did the lunch option. They have a hot soup and wok area as well. It was very clean in there and punctual removing dishes. I love the signs to not waste food. Negatives - salt and pepper shrimp were large but not flavorful and the garlic stump was below average. The crab fried rice which is usually a Thailand dish wasn't flavorful. Positives- the sushi was a good variety and rest, lots of veggies and cold/hot items to choose from. I loved the Chinese donuts, General TSO and the salt and pepper squid the best. I will give this 5 stars overall and will bring more people next time. Check out photos.

This was hands down one of the best buffets I've ever been too. From the quick service to the variety and freshness of the food, this place has it all! This place is very large and can easily accommodate large groups, there was plenty of TVs as well and a full bar! The variety of food was outstanding, there was sushi, seafood, meat, bao buns, and tons more! There was so much to choose from and everything I got I loved! The frog legs were the BEST I've ever had. They were so moist and crunchy and had excellent flavor. I also loved the fried rice, Mongolian beef, the hot and cold crab legs and the sushi! The sushi was outstanding for a buffet and there was tons of options! They even had sea snails, that was fun to try. The s'mores station was so unique and so cute, as well as the cotton candy and chocolate fountain. The banana pudding is also a must try. I can't wait to come back, I am blown away that I haven't checked this place out sooner! Highly recommend.

The food selection is vast so it's easy for anyone to find at least a few items they like. My personal favorites were the cream cheese wontons, fried rice and the coconut shrimp. I tried a few things that I didn't particularly like but that's the beauty of a buffet, I don't need to eat more of/commit to food I don't like! The food was all pretty fresh looking to keep up with the fast pace crowds hitting the buffet lines. The dessert selection was great and they have a very fun chocolate fountain, the chocolate in it is actually really good too and not that weird waxy chocolate you get in fountains sometimes. I will note that the ice cream bin doesn't seem very sanitary with so many people reusing the same scoop over and over. Another thing I didn't enjoy was the cream puffs, I'm not sure if I got a bad one or if they all tasted like this but mine seriously tasted like spoiled milk. Everyone that we interacted with was pleasant from the hostess, to our server and the person who checked us out. Our server was also pretty good about keeping our waters filled. Since we live more than an hour away, we waited until we were already in the area. Two days ago, we finally stopped by. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. The first thing we noticed upon walking in was an unusual odor that wasn't very inviting. Since it wasn't their Sunday buffet day, we ordered à la carte: kare-kare, crispy pata, and chicken inasal. The service was good, food presentation was nice, and the dishes looked promising. However, the flavors did not meet our expectations. The kare-kare did not taste like traditional kare-kare, and the bagoong alamang was extremely salty with a very strong odor. The crispy pata had been chopped into pieces before frying, making it look and eat more like lechon kawali than the crispy pata we expected. As for the chicken inasal, it was far from the traditional version we're familiar with--it didn't even appear grilled and resembled chicken satay more than inasal. There were three of us dining, and all of us shared the same impressions of the food. Based on their advertising about serving food that's "as good as Nanay's," we came in with high expectations, but sadly, those expectations were not met. This was our first visit, and unfortunately, it will likely be our last. While others may have a different experience, we were not impressed with the food and would not make the drive back for another visit.

Our first few times that we went they didn't have the option of both at the same time, so you had to choose shabu or bbq. But now you're able to choose both for a bit higher price but nothing drastic and in my opinion is worth it. The establishment is nothing to wao about. Simple but very spacious and also clean. Parking is hit or miss. If you go after work hrs on the weekdays it's not too hard to find parking. Weekends for dinner is a different story but at least it is one of the few lots that you don't have to pay for parking on convoy. Now for the main reason I gave it a 5*. The meats on the bbq and shabu menu is not vast, a few options to pick from but it looks very fresh. Both sides have wagyu and prime meats but shabu side has lamb and fish also. Then you have 2 side or salad bars however you call them. They have different types of vegetables and noodles as well as seafoods. There is also canned sodas and 3 other types of drinks on the bbq side. And rice, soup and curry next to it. But I'm sure no one is there for the side characters but the chicken Karaage specially soy garlic.is really good so maybe give it a try. The servers are very friendly and fast at what they do. Oh and maybe save a little bit of room or like my wife and friends say the second stomach lol for some thrifty ice cream. Hope this is not too much to read, sorry.

I really liked how the menu was small with only 10 meat options. The idea here is that they serve higher quality meats and this was true for the first few rounds. My favorite was the wagyu brisket. Sides are self serve, they were OK. Would have been nice to have the option for macaroni salad and kimchi that was more cleanly trimmed. The self serve drinks are a definite standout. It was so convenient to just grab the sodas and waters and milk teas ourselves. This offloaded cognitive load from our busy waiters so they could focus on bringing us lots of meat! I wish more KBBQ places would do this. It makes life easier for both customers and waiters in my opinion. The dessert was really cool they had Rite Aid Ice cream which was delicious and a nice finish. Service was standout here, friendly and attentive and we didn't feel rushed or ignored. They even replaced one of our fatty briskets at the end of the meal with a less fatty one at our request which was the first time I'd experienced this. Overall though the meat quality definitely dropped half way through our meal which is par for the course for AYCE. It was a fun experience and glad I got to try Kanpai!

It was $25 per person for dinner (weekend price) and included one drink with one refill. The place is spacious and comfortable, and they had a good variety of food: Chinese dishes, seafood, sushi, soups, salads, and desserts. Overall, the service was good, the food was good and there wasn't anything bad to say.It was a nice experience for a big group and a solid buffet option in the area.

I can't say that I loved everything that I had here; however, there were plenty of really tasty gems that I had. More importantly, in our group of fifty people, we all left satisfied. For the purpose of feeding affordable, crowd-pleasing options for lunch for a large number of people, I think that this is a pretty reasonable option. Soup and salad were fine. I can't say that I'd personally recommend the seafood or sushi. Honey Chicken was also not great. But their rice was moist and perfect, their char siu and chicken teriyaki were inspired, and their fried foods were satisfying and filling without being greasy. Overall, it was a positive experience that does the job!

15+ visits and Jeong Korean Buffet on Convoy still sets the bar!…read more As always, the food and service at Jeong continues to surpass every other Korean Buffet in San Diego. If you want friendly service and affordable Korean BBQ, this is the place. With today's economy and grocery prices out of control, Jeong is a super deal. The meat alone from your first trip to the buffet is worth what you'd pay for a rack at the supermarket. All you can ear! I was just at my local produce store and the prices are ridiculous: a head of lettuce $4.95 each! fresh turmeric $6.95/lb. Compare your shopping list to what you get at Jeong and you'll see it's way more reasonable than cooking at home. Another example: Japchae, Korean glass noodles with vegetables. At Zion Market a small tray is $10.95. At Jeong, you can put that same amount on your plate and you've only used about a third of your all-you-can-eat meal price. Got it? Don't forget to price out the food choices. You'll find it's cheaper to eat at Jeong than to cook at home! Remember ALL YOU CAN EAT. Does not mean wasting the food. Be respectful and celebrate that we have a restaurant who are helping the community through our current crisis and every day struggle. Enjoy and be part of the Jeong Ohana...thank you Jeong Korean Buffet restaurant and it's owners! Godwin

Their walls are displayed with eclectic signage with fun verbiage. They have high quality food and it's clean. $38 for dinner includes everything and non alcoholic beverages. The staff was super friendly and attentive. They asked us multiple times if we wanted our grill changed and if we needed anything. I love that we can just walk over to the raw food station, the banchan and sauce station and get what we need as we please. No waiting. My favorites were the marinaded wagyu, boneless short ribs, and their banchan. The meats were tender. My fam also enjoyed the lamb. I loved the banchan choices ... my favs were the steamed egg, jap chae, marinated tofu, and fresh kimchi. My kids like the unlimited soda too. LOL. Everything was delicious and it was an awesome experience.
