Came here to celebrate a graduation with family and man. I'm still dreaming of that Chilean sea bass! We grabbed reservations here so no problem with the wait. Our waitress was great and took very good care of us. The ambiance of the restaurant was great! Definitely made it feel like a special occasion. We ordered a handful of appetizers, sides, and mains. I got myself an old fashioned and it was delicious. The sea bass. Oh my goodness. The caramelized crust on that bad boy was to die for. A slight sweetness from the glaze, but pairs so well with the rice and scallions. I could eat this every day of my life and be perfectly happy about it! Seriously though. It's so good. She made this second visit to Seasons 52 for me well worth it. The ambiance was casual but upscale enough for a date night. I was hesitant as my first visit was not the best from but it was my birthday and Restaurant Week, what a combo. The restaurant week menu was perfect as I don't eat beef or pork, so I was very pleased to see a scallop meal option. The pricing for the meals was also affordable and filling. My scallops were seared perfectly, and the flavor they carried paired all with the green beans and potatoes. If you are a seafood lover, I'd definitely recommend trying them. Now, for the dessert, we selected the turtle cheesecake dessert, which was smooth, creamy, and decadent. Rustic combined with intimate. For our appetizer, my husband and I ordered the shrimp and crab stuffed mushrooms. My husband is not a huge fan of mushrooms, but couldn't stop eating these and the same goes for me. For entrees, I ordered the shrimp and grits. Being from the South and having eaten New Orleans' shrimp and grits, I was curious to see how this would match. Congratulations, Seasons 52, your shrimp and grits beat New Orleans' for me! The chorizo, shrimp, and tomato mixture was to die for. My husband ordered the lamb and had me try it as well. The lamb was very juicy and tender!!! We also ordered aside of macaroni and cheese, which goes down as one of the best mac and cheese we've ever had. For dessert, I ordered the peanut butter cup dessert mini and my husband ordered the cookies and cream mini. Both were gone in seconds; that's how decadent they were!!! The 4/5 stars are only because our waiter was very weird-acting throughout the service. This was the best restaurant in KCMO Plaza bar none. Better than any other darden restaurant. It's where my wife got her dazzling wedding/ engagement ring. I planned on taking my sons here for there senior prom venue. The food was always cooked right and seasoned right. Never bland or over/under-cooked. Exactly what the customer paid for at the time. There is 2 hour street parking available around the restaurant which was easy to get mid week. We had a private area for our group of six and Michael was our server. The service he provided was excellent. The low lighting created a relaxing environment for our group to enjoy lunch while chatting and catching up. The food was all very good. The portion size is good and most options were under 600 calories and everything tasted fresh. Everyone enjoyed their meal and left some room for dessert. My salmon was excellent and the green beans and potatoes paired with the dill mustard was yummy. Celebrated a birthday here and had a wonderful time! We ordered the Pesto Chicken and Fresh Mozzarella Flatbread and the Roasted Tomato Flatbread to share. We come here for an annual holiday party once a year. They do a lovely job of setting up the dining area that is for your party or event. They started the evening with multiple samples of their appetizers and a variety of selections from the bar. We were seated, and they had a set menu for us to choose from. You will find this location on Country Club Plaza meets your expectations. I ordered the field green salad, the lamb loin (Ian's recommendation) with garlic mash potatoes and broccolini. I have never had lamb and neon I am a huge fan! My medium rare slices were so tender and flavorful. The rub on the loin complimented the cut. The portion was a good size that I would enjoy it another day. Being a holiday we splurged on dessert and I was disappointed in that only mini desserts were the only options. I did enjoy my key lime mini dessert but really would have wanted a full dessert. Went there for the Thanksgiving Dinner. One of us orders the Traditional Thanksgiving Menu and the other orders off the menu....then we share. The Thanksgiving Dinner included Turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes & gravy, green beans, cranberry sauce, butternut squash and rolls, plus a mini desert. It was great as well as a very larger portion of turkey. Of all the turkey dinners I have had out, this was definitely the best one. My girlfriend ordered the Lamb Loin and it was so good as well. We both were very pleased with our experience. The restaurant was very busy (as you might think on Thanksgiving), but the staff was very attentive and we never felt rushed. The bar top was a quiet and intimate spot, with not a lot of chatter or confusion. The bartender allowed me to sample some wines before I made a decision before I settled on a 9-oz pour of a Cab. To dine, I had the meats with added feta cheese for a little kick against the tomato-based sauce. It was a good choice addition for me. Starters: Caymus wine flights (Napa Valley): the cabernet sauvignon was my favorite and my partner enjoyed the sauvignon blanc. Italian coffee: i enjoy black nice and hot for a mid day cup. Wasn't watery and great balance Lavazza brand. Lobster bisque soup: perfectly cooked. Creamy and excellent temp. The taste popped with each spoonful. Salad... crispy non-wiltered green leafy lettuce oh how important for nutritional purposes when ordering a salad. (Iceberg is the worst). Entrees... i wanted lamb loin but they were out chef Robert was kind enough to extend other options as I wanted to have a very pleasant lunch experience so substitute an 8oz coffee crusted medium temp steak cooked to perfection with masked potatoes and perfectly roasted brocollini (that little crunch gave me so much life). My partner had scallops (spicy) and risotto with brocollini. Her dish was also well balanced and the scallops were perfectly cooked. Some had a little more seasoning on them then others but she was able to balance that by spooning risotto with the scallop in her bites. Dessert: Turtle caramel/chocolate cheesecake and pecan dessert... both just enough for palate cleansing and a sweet ending. The ambiance was nice. Clean environment, no wait, music balanced and not too loud, great lighting, restrooms clean, outside eating option with a fountain and street view. I would totally recommend stopping in. So we walked 2 blocks away & found this Gem of a place-Seasons 52! What a beautiful place to dine! We were greeted at the door very politely & we sat in the bar area. We told them we were celebrating a Birthday & 5 minutes later the Bday gal was presented with a Bday card-hand written no doubt! What a classy touch! Kansas City Restaurant Week 2023 So, have you ever had a dining experience where one thing ruined the entire meal well, let me say one word and one word only "truffle" now, you may be thinking, why Taylor would you pick such a polarizing flavor in the first place if it had the ability to ruin your whole night out? Well, here's the thing, I quite adore the pungent aroma and even more pronounced flavor of the fungi named "truffle" but, in this application it was horrendous and the rest of the meal was lost in the utter horror that was the truffle risotto. Another sad thing, this very dish was listed as one of the options that you and your dining partner could choose to split so, lucky my dinner date was that night...not. Now, after that dismal description of the significance of the side dish that I made the mistake of choosing over the crab polenta let me actually move onto the actual review of the rest of the meal. The dinner menu for restaurant week at Seasons seemed robust so, I had no problem waiting till 8pm for a reservation of a Friday night. My dinner date and I started at the bar and ordered a glass of wine to start our long one hour wait until our reservations were ready, it was alright but, the highlight of the pre-dinner bar experience was definitely the gin martini I ordered as my second drink which had the oh so trendy butterfly pea flower liqueur changing the color to a soft pretty purple, also the drink wasn't overly sweet but had a nice zip of tartness from the lemon. After we were seated, a little after 8pm, we were given the menu with the options for restaurant week, which for the base price of $40 offered a soup or salad course, a main entree and a family style sharable side (1 offered per 2 patrons) and then a mini indulgence dessert and a complimentary glass of champagne. This seemed like a lot of food for the price and it did prove to be just that so, that helped the overall number of stars I awarded Seasons 52 this time around. For the first course, we each picked a different soup and both were very tasty. My mushroom soup was earthy and rich but, wasn't too overwhelming in mushroom flavor, which would prove to be the downfall of another dish to come. I would order it again, and also the sweeter soup my dinner date went with, the butternut squash, was smooth and silky. All in all, the soups shined. Now, where things started to fall apart. After waiting for well over half an hour for a piece of salmon and a medium rare cooked steak we were hungry and a little restless, mind you from start to finish this meal took us over 3 hours from bar to table to out the door, the entrees were finally delivered. The first smell that hit me in the face and punched me in the nose was truffle oil and right away I knew that was a bad sign. Then I saw my dinner guest's face after he took a bite and any hope of subtly was lost. The risotto was cooked nicely and was quite creamy but it was way over done in the truffle department and it really seemed like half a bottle of mid-grade truffle oil was just carelessly dosed over the whole finished dish, which already contained shaved actual pieces of truffles throughout the risotto. If you were wanting to taste a delicate fish like salmon after biting into that fungi laden risotto good luck! My salmon arrived on a cedar plank but, none of that flavor was even detectable with the overwhelming coating of mushroom madness on my tongue. The tart, tangy citrus caper sauce for the top of the salmon had the most pleasant flavor from my entire meal so, I opted to also dip my vegetables, consisting of potatoes and green beans, in it as well. It took our pallets awhile to adjust and completely flush that truffly taste out of our mouths but, finally we were ready for dessert. To be honest, the glass of bubbly helped with the truffle catastrophe and the mini indulgence dessert selection was impressive. If there was a tried and true normal size indulgence that you usually ordered when you were out then the chances were Seasons 52 had made it mini and stuffed it in a shot glass. Though this presentation of desserts isn't the most classy, some may even consider it outdated, I actually can appreciate the forced portion control. My mini key lime pie shot was the perfect pinch of sweetness and sourness to finish off a pretty sweet and sour meal at Seasons. I would maybe consider giving it another go during restaurant week however, I wouldn't ever order the truffle risotto again, or actually anything containing the word truffle even, at this place. read more

We've been to a number of the Seasons 52 locations, and have had consistently good food and service, and this visit didn't dissapoint. My wife was focused on the Salmon Salad right from the start, but I wasn't sure about what to get for my entree. I landed on the Grilled Rainbow Trout. Our food came out quickly. The Salmon Salad was a good mix of greens with a nice piece of salmon. It was a little charred on the edges, but otherwise nicely prepared. My trout was VERY good. Nicely seasoned, and the asparagus was well prepared, as were the flavored potatoes. I topped off my meal with a Coconut Cream Pie 'shooter'. I like the size of the desserts as they are a nice taste of sweetness to top off a meal. Service was good, and the meals are all reasonably healthy. read more

Picked out Seasons 52 for a lunch stop on our short weekend trip to KC. With a number of seemingly good choices in the area, I was hoping it lived up to the generally excellent reviews. Boy did it. We had the grilled artichokes with preserved lemon hummus, the roasted meatballs (for the 9 year old), mahi tuna crunch salad, and the chicken caprese. Everything was top notch, fresh, and well-plated. We then had three of the mini dessert shot glass things and they were killer. Service was friendly, casual, and professional. Five stars. Seasons is a Charm! I was over at Gram & Dunn and what a disappointment. It was early enough, but absolutely no space in the Bar area to try some appetizers and cocktails. People saving seats can be the worst sometimes.. But maybe that was a sign. We headed over to Seasons and luckily nabbed an outside table, after waiting 20 long minutes at Gram N Dunn for the torrential rain to subside.
