Stopped for a quick bite here on our way down to San Diego. Location is convenient since it's right off the interstate and parking was fairly easy for a Thursday afternoon. I was surprised they couldn't make one of their burritos as a bowl (without the tortilla) but oh well. We were pretty hungry so we looked for other options. We tried the shrimp garlic noodles and the crispy shrimp taco plate. Good portions for the prices and they were both pretty tasty. Ordering was easy and the wait time wasn't bad at all. First time here and we were very disappointed with the food and the customer service. We ordered the north shore garlic shrimp, the chimichurri shrimp burrito, and the clam chowder. The north shore shrimp looks like it's breaded in pictures but when it came and I bit into it I realized it's not breaded shrimp, it's unpeeled shrimp that was seasoned/cooked to give it that color. They literally left the entire shell on. I had to spit it out because I didn't want to swallow the sharp pieces of shell. We went to speak to the staff to see why the shrimp was all left with the shell on and they said it comes that way and that it says that on the menu. They had an attitude so I told them that I read the menu and nowhere does it say it's served with the shell on. She snatched the menu and started to read it to me as if to prove me wrong only for her to realize I was right and that it doesn't say anywhere that it's going to come that way. She then said I can just use my fingers to open it and eat the inside if I didn't want to eat the shell, but the seasoning is all on the shell so the inside doesn't have any flavor. At that point I asked them to just take it back and refund me for it because I didn't want to deal with it anymore. The shrimp in the chimichurri burrito was good but the rice was disgusting. It was so mushy and tasteless, wouldn't be surprised if they were using some type of microwaveable rice because it was so bad. Would not recommend. Clam chowder was really good but it's honestly more of a potato chowder here. We got a bowl and there were only 2 pieces of clam in that entire bowl. Almost every bite we got potatoes. Flavor was excellent though and so was the consistency as it was nice and thick not watered down like a lot of places serve it. Would be perfect if they weren't as stingy with the clams. When we finished our meal I went back inside to get a to go box for the rest of the clam chowder and the staff saw us and purposely turned away, I'm guessing after what happened with the north shore shrimp they saw me standing there with the clam chowder which I wanted a takeout container for and probably assumed I was going to complain about something so nobody wanted to make contact with me. Finally someone from the back came out and I was able to ask them for a small takeout box. I didn't do anything wrong as a customer, if they're going to serve shell on shrimp they need to make it clear on the menu. I wasn't rude in any way even when they gave me an attitude and insisted it said on the menu even though they were wrong. They also kept saying that you can eat the shell but I have digestive issues in which I can't process things like sunflower seed shells or in this case shrimp shells, plus I don't think most people would prefer to eat the shell when given the option. The other person in my party did not have any interest in eating shrimp shells for lunch either. Would definitely change the menu to include that as I've now seen other reviews in which people were sadly surprised to find uncleaned shrimp being served to them. read more

This place is incredible. The food is awesome. I always get the cioppino and clam chowder, but I've also had the fish and chips which are excellent. The prices are great. You normally pay $50 for a good cioppino. There's is the best and I only paid $17. Their service is fast and they're very friendly. read more

We stopped in about 430pm and caught the end of happy hour. The house IPA hit the spot, and the food was incredible. We had the fish tacos, the hawaiian poke on greens, calamari, and the asada nachos. The tacos were my favorite but the poke is definitely not to be missed. We have been talking about how this will be our new regular stop when en route to San Diego. I can't wait to try the poke nachos! The North Shore Garlic shrimp was okay. Not what I was expecting. It had an overly sweet sauce on it. I was expecting more of a savory garlic butter flavor like I've had in Hawaii. I didn't enjoy eating around the shell and I didn't care for the pickled onions or shallots side that came with it. We ate outside near the heaters. What a great, high quality, & cozy seafood restaurant! We were on the way back home from San Diego and found this seafood restaurant during searching. Every dish we ordered was amazingly wonderful and food quality was fresh! Lobster Pomodoro Rosa: Great flavor with perfect amount of tomato sauce and cheese. Not salty! And the lobster meat (craw) was chewing and sweet. Perfect quality! Clam chowder (large): This is probably the BEST that I've ever had. Creamy but not greasy. Flavorful but not salty. Plus, the clam chunk is big that you can taste! Better than any of those fancy 4-star seafood restaurants that I had. Fresh oysters: We ordered half dozen from 3 places (Baja, Chesapeake bay, and somewhere else in Alaska??). They all great, fresh, not smelly. I think blue point (from Baja) is sweeter, which is our favorite. Sea bass with ginger sauce: The sea bass was pan fried to the degree we love - crispy but not over cooked. The maui ginger sauce is on the sweet side but very flavorful. Even the salad that came with it was great! The fishermen's catch: The bowl had quite a lot of varieties - mussels, jumbo shrimp cut to half, clams, calamari, bay scallops, louisiana sausage, corn cob, and sliced red potato. we ordered it with light Lousiana Cajun seasoning, which I could still taste a bit garlic butter flavor. Flavorful but I think we will try the regular Lousiana Cajun seasoning next time, not the light version. Also, even though you pick your own table for outdoor seating, the service was great too! Several waiters swung by checking on us to make sure if we need anything else. Overall we were very satisfied with everything including the price (all above dishes for less than $100) and for sure we will be back bringing more friends and family to enjoy such high quality great food! read more

I've been here twice, and the experience really depends on what you order and when you go. On my first visit, I had the warm butter lobster roll--not great, to be honest. My sister got the fish burrito, which was fantastic. The second time, I went with the chimichurri shrimp burrito--huge portion, great flavors, but very rice-heavy. My husband had the salmon quinoa bowl and really enjoyed it. We also shared the Parmesan fries, which were solid. The atmosphere and service can be hit or miss. We tried the "new" place in hopes of a local restaurant to enjoy fresh fish. After all, we are a beach town! The service was inviting although there is very limited seating inside. It was a cold night and the outside area has some heaters available which is where we sat. Unfortunately, the garlic shrimp did not agree with me. It tasted good but later that night I became ill. We were clear that there was a cilantro allergy, but the food came out with cilantro all over the salad, which was on the main plate of food. I ordered the lobster tail which was atrocious. Two tiny pieces in a shell which had to have been frozen for months. They were shriveled and you could not remove them from the shell so literally all you could get were two small bites. when I asked to get a new plate with another salad, I was brought a huge bowl of lettuce, overflowing and they could not bring me another plate because they said it was against the rules.
