Ron installed new blower installed in Sept 2023 which was extremely noisy- which we remarked on- but he made us feel we were being picky. Now 2 & 1/2 years later, the blower has failed and Hearthside came out to find that the blower was never attached to a stabilizing bracket and was "free-floating"- essentially just plugged in- so rattling around (hence the noise) and now damaged. DO NOT HIRE!!! Took my money and did not fix the fireplace. I hired Seattle fireplace to fix a fireplace in December 2023 that was intermittently turning off. They "identified the problem (supposedly the gas valve) and replaced it, charging me over $500 which I paid them same day, believing it to be fixed. It continued to turn off and they came out again. This time it was "the surround" which was aomehow causing it to go out, but although they removed it, they could not figure out how to put it back the way it originally was, telling me they needed to now "contact the manufacturer to see how it should be installed". Time went by (it was winter so no fireplace for me!) and I had to call THEM back again, suggesting that they could just look at one of my two neighbors units to see how theirs was installed. They then scheduled ANOTHER appointment and were late, at which point I was not avail. Came out AGAIN. Again, did NOT fix the problem. I had to text them repeatedly to try to reschedule, whereas they decided they would just give up and offered me a refund. OK, I had lost confidence in their abilities, so agreed to the refund on Feb 12 2024. Now I send multiple texts where I ask what the status is of the refund, and nothing but excuses (the bookkeepers schedule, then the bank had it. Seriously!? I asked for proof of check issuance from the bank-even offered to take a personal check if that would be helpful while they sorted what was going on with the "bookkeeper". STILL No refund as of this posting (May of 2024!!) and I don't expect one at this point. I advised that I was running out of patience and would need to take formal steps to recover my money. Please, do yourself a favor and DO NOT HIRE these people unless you want to pay for inept, unprofessional work and have no fix-and for a firm to not honor their work, (or their word). Do hire them if you feel like taking someone to court. I will be pursuing legal recourse to get my money back. read more

Ron and team are my go to for my gas insert fireplace work. They do my annual servicing and fixed the fan/blower. I really appreciate their transparent pricing (they quote you parts and labor separately). I've gotten ridiculous competing bids from other providers (5x what Ron charges). Overall, this leaves me the impression that Ron and team have 1. Competitive pricing and 2. Aren't trying to take advantage of customers. Ron and team are reliable, showing up in the scheduled service windows. One piece of advice though is that they don't have much availability during their busy season (winter) so expect longer response times then. read more

Enes and Seattle Fireplace are the best! We are so thrilled to finally have a working gas fireplace. We are customers for life! We will only call Seattle Fireplace whenever we need our fireplace serviced. We moved into our house in May 2008 after it had been completely remodeled, but we could never get our gas fireplace to work. We finally decided to get it serviced. We explained our situation to the first technician who came from another company. He charged us $165, complained that our fireplace was dirty and full of cobwebs but didn't bother to clean it, then spent maybe 10-15 minutes kind of blowing compressed air around the whole fireplace then around the pilot light opening. He couldn't get the pilot light to stay lit, so he told us we needed to replace the pilot light assembly for $1700. Whoa! For a gas fireplace that's practically brand new and never been used? Our next appointment, which I had to make through Yelp, was with Seattle Fireplace; it was a few weeks later but totally worth it. Enes even brought his own vacuum and heavy towels to protect our wood floors while he removed the glass front and vacuumed and cleaned out the whole fireplace. Then he cleaned the pilot light and tried to light it. He figured out there was a small spider stuck in the pilot light opening, so he spent a few minutes blowing it out. After he finally cleared it, he was able to light the pilot light and keep it on. Next, he rearranged the ceramic logs based on the marks on the logs because the other guy just put them back randomly. When he finally turned on the main burner, and the fireplace totally lit up, I was so excited and couldn't stop cheering! So after an hour of service and for $189+tax, we finally have a nice cozy fire in our gas fireplace! read more

They got me an appointment a few weeks out which was fine, we had never serviced our gas fireplaces in our 3 year ownership so waiting a few more weeks wasn't an issue. Enes was our technician and he was friendly, knowledgeable and extremely efficient. Our fireplaces needed to be cleaned but also we were having issues with the switches not working properly. We'd had electricians look at them in the past but never were able to figure it out. Enes solved the issue almost immediately and without any struggle. When he was done cleaning both fireplaces we were shocked by the difference. We had no idea our fireplaces could look that good. He got it so clean that he actually revealed a completely different color on the tile! It was so dirty we had thought it was grey, but it was actually a light brown! For unknown reasons, the fireplace would not start after we checked the pilot light, batteries in the remote control, etc. fortunately for us, we contacted Seattle Fireplace. It was very easy to schedule and they promptly returned our call. The technician came on time and quickly diagnosed our problem as dirty gas parts. Who knew that I had to clean the inside of a gas fireplace?! He cleaned the glass, replaced the remote batteries and replaced a bunch of other fireplace stuff. There was a mixed bag of reviews from Yelpers about Seattle Fireplace, but my experience was EXCELLENT... our pilot light went kaput over a year ago... called Kirkland Fireplace last year and they basically told me I needed to but a new fireplace entirely, since ours was 18 years old - nice. Seattle FP returned my voicemail promptly, scheduled the appointment a few weeks out, and then re-scheduled at my request via text... on the morning of appointment, he was at my door at 8:05 AM for an 8-10 AM window. When does that happen?! He worked for about 1 hour, replacing the pilot assembly, re-assembling all the faux logs, and cleaning the glass. It looks brand new, all for $350. Great job!! read more

I wish I could have had the experience many others had. I sent a message through Yelp for a quote on a blower replacement and possible thermocouple replacement for my fireplace. They didn't respond, so after a week, I called to schedule the service. I explained my issue and asked if a free estimate could be provided. I was told that they only come out with the intent to repair, not to do an estimate. I was OK with this, as I didn't want to have to schedule multiple visits. I was asked to provide my fireplace information so the parts could be ordered and replaced during the service. I asked if I could get a ballpark estimate beforehand and was told that a general estimate would be possible after I sent over the model information. I sent the model information and a quick summary of what needed to be done via text that evening...no response. I sent another message the following evening to confirm receipt of the first message, and received a response that said "Yes got it. Thank you." That was the last communication I received (10 days ago). No rough estimate, and no confirmation of appointment. Fast forward to today (my appointment day), and I've all but blown off the appointment, thinking that nobody is going to show. The only decent thing that happened was the tech showing up on time. I asked him if he had the replacement fans with him, to which he responded, "I don't know, I have several types of fans and parts. Do you have the replacement parts for me to use?" I explained to him that's not what I was told, and it's why I had to provide model information--so the parts would be here for repair if the fans had to be replaced. He kept arguing that he doesn't even know if they have to be replaced. That's besides the point...if they did need to be replaced, I needed to know if he had the parts that wouldf facilitate immediate repair (their stated intent). His logic was that he didn't even know if the parts had to be completely replaced, so wait and see. He spent 5 minutes looking at my fireplace before saying he didn't have what he needed to fix it (not surprising), and (graciously) wouldn't charge me for the service call. He didn't even bother looking at the fans, the thermocouple, or valve to make a diagnosis to see what needed to be done. read more

Our fireplace was installed by a different company in 2016. When we had an flickering problem we called them and their service call was clueless and expensive. We called Seattle Fireplace, Ron came out, and in ten minutes had the problem diagnosed, in half an hour fixed, it works great, and the cost including parts was less than the useless prior company. Wish I remembered the womans name I talked to on the phone. She was the first impression to the business and for me, that's everything. Bad first impressions = You don't get my business. She was courteous, professional and even called me the day before to confirm everything. Exactly how it should be. My fireplace had a bad thermocouple. It's an old gas fireplace maybe from 1999. I tried replacing it myself over many weekends with no success. I could light the pilot but it would not stay lit. They sent out Enes and it's a good thing because the following week it dipped into the 20's with snow! So just in time. Other places I called were booked for a month. Enes was great. Fixed the issue. And added some rock deco around the fireplace and even cleaned the glass which I didn't think was that dirty. But now it looks brand new! Never seen it this nice. And I don't believe he charged extra for this service. I took away 1 star for the total cost. It caught me by surprise. I had researched this a lot online before deciding to call a professional. And the cost was about $100 more than I had expected. I had bought a universal thermocouple for less than $15 at Home Depot. The Thermocouple Enes charged me was $60+ which I felt was overcharge. Why was there such a price difference? So while I had a great experience with this company and would recommend them, the cost was tough to swallow. My one suggestion to them would be to maybe give their customers a heads up on what to expect to pay. It quickly became uncomfortable waiting for Enes to tell me the final cost as if I was waiting to hear a guilty/not guilty verdict in a courtroom. NOT that I have any idea what that's like! But anything they can do to make that moment less painful for the next customer, those options should be considered. read more

I had AquaQuip install my fireplace in 2013. Over the last few years, the pilot kept flickering out. I kept paying AquaQuip to send technicians to take a look. As you know, jimmying open the glass front (to re-light the pilot) is a major pain. This fall I'd had enough (especially when an AquaQup rep told me that the cause for my woes was listed as being tied to "usage") and asked around and heard about Seattle Fireplace and scheduled a visit. Ron was about as thorough as I have ever seen. He pretty much dismantled the whole thing and found a bunch of accumulated soot on the pilot. He spent more time trying to figure out why that might be happening. He was patient at explaining things and not condescending at all. I've no idea if it;s fixed for good but I will certainly schedule a service visit with Ron at least once a year. He is also a much better deal - in every way - than AquaQuip. read more

My experience with this company was very different than most of the reviews posted so I'm highlighting the experience I had replacing a blower fan: 1) replaced current fireplace blower fan with considerably lower CFM model. The fan barely blows hot air out of my fireplace. 2) When serviceman put fireplace back together, he did not connect correctly the gas/air mix and my entire home smells like a gas station when turning on the fireplace. 3) He cleaned the glass with a solution that when the fireplace is turned on, it burned the glass jet black and covered the outside of my home with black soot 3 stories up and no way to clean. 4) The gentleman who installed the new blower fan was extremely slow and completely too old to still be working in this field. I felt sorry for him trying to screw everything back into place and after he finished the bid job, he actually charged me more because the job took longer than the bid, nice touch Seattle Fireplace. 5) Scheduling them to come back out I was told it would be several months.
