He said' "If David can't come, call me, I'll get it running in short order." God bless him! HAI a Nortech, tech came out for- A SERVICE CALL (?). He spent less than an hour to look at our small 6' x 12' - "mini food bank" walk in freezer - made a few comments about possible problems and said all sorts of things could be wrong- even with the compressor, needing to be replaced. He opened one of its valves and a little Freon came out. Said the valve probably leaked. He wanted $125.00 for the "service" call - I could only get a 10% discount. He gave an estimate to fix it. *** $3,500.00! LATER, I CALLED HIS BOSS AND TRIED TO GET SOME REFUND, having paid for nothing, but misinformation!!! His answer was, "I run a business and Hai has been a TECHNICIAN for 30 years." *****I then got a hold of David, the semi-retired man that originally installed it, for only $750.00. You know - putting all the pipes together, wiring it, new parts, if necessary and costly Freon, etc. He was able to come out for an hour and fix it! - (He had been traveling, so I tried out Nortech). He put in more Freon and now it is running fine. For how much? ONLY * $100.00!!! He explained everything, as I watched him. "You don't drain all the air out of a low car tire and then refill it. Or take out the engine to change the oil." BEWARE OF "EXPERTS" No stars for Nortech. Not even a candle. ******************************************************************************** ++ Also = there is a guy called ( Lee ) who advertises that he owns (three companies (???) 24/7 ++ Seattle Commercial Refrigeration Repair- ++AVR ++ Soule Mechanical (CHECK HIM OUT AND OFF = He came after Nortech left (he said he'd be there at 5:00 PM) it was 7:30 PM) and I told him what Hai had said. He demanded at least $75.00 just to show up, and even didn't look at the freezer. So as to not DISTURB our meeting INSIDE I caved in and paid him!?!?!?!? I called him later asking politely for a refund = no way, but I'll fix it for $1700.00! What a Guy. Some people empty other peoples pockets and fill theirs. Don't pay for nothing. I have a European compact refrigerator, a Blomberg, and it's very difficult to find anyone who knows the brand. I was really impressed by Seattle Fridge Repair (aka 911 Fridge), from my first contact with the office staff. The woman I spoke with offered same-day service, which I didn't need, so scheduled me for the next day. She called me back to get the model and serial number of my fridge so the technician could do some research and have possible parts ready in his van. Sam arrived half an hour early (!) and told me he actually knew the brand and model, having recently serviced one. He gave me a quote right away and described what needed to be done. The drainage system was blocked by tiny food particles and had to be steam-cleaned out. Sam was super organized, pulled the fridge w/o damage to the floor, allowed me to clean behind it, and got going. It was expensive ($400), but that included the minimum diagnostic fee of $89. Now that I know the problem, I can keep the fridge trouble-free forever. I'm more than pleased. read more

Excellent quality of work, communication, flexibility in scheduling, and timeliness. The specific issues were explained in detail before any repairs were made, and the breakdown of costs was clearly communicated. The first repair did not fully resolve our issue, and though the technician was apologetic based on what I've seen in researching similar issues with Samsung refrigerators I do not believe this was through any fault of their own. We were told what the cost to fully resolve the issue would be, and advised that given the total costs it likely made more financial sense to manually defrost the refrigerator until we were ready to replace it. We were not charged for this follow up visit, despite the technician being here until nearly 8:00 PM and spending over an hour defrosting the coils. Very highly recommended. read more

Sam has worked on my frequently ailing Samsung French Door fridge (purchased Dec30, 2014) twice now and on both occasions was able to resolve the issues (far better than the previous 3 repairs when under warranty). He is knowledgeable, works quickly, explains everything clearly and thoroughly, gives options, and suggests what direction he thinks would be best. With a full schedule of repairs, he took extra time to make sure I had a working freezer for a recent weekend when I was expecting 7 house guests, even though this surely complicated the rest of his workday. It worked fine when he left yesterday, then decided to go on the fritz again. It may or may not take a new temp. control unit. Time will tell. I will monitor this for the next 24 hours (or longer if necessary) and call him if indeed, this equipment has to be replaced. In the meantime he will order it and have it "in the ready" if needed. I had my Sub Zero freezer go kaput (user error leaving door ajar) but it was labor day weekend. I did a quick spin thru Yelp and called 4-5 places. Seattle Fridge not only called back they offered to come out the next day. He fixed replaced the freezer fan and all is good. I'm not positive they are the cheapest but at the same time if you are a pro you know what you are worth.
