This is probably my favorite Carolina Beach spot. Very reasonable prices on food and drink. Amazing...and I mean amazing tuna nacho's, parm garlic wings and chowder. Great happy hour deals in the off season. I always find a seat at the bar and service is always on point but especially when Jenel is taking care of you. She can handle all of the drinks for the dining room and bar without ever looking flustered all while slicing lemons and noticing I'm about to take my last sip of beer. You've got to try this place! As a meat and potatoes guy (who never eats seafood outside of the oyster sauce snuck into my Chinese or Japanese dishes), I often have to settle for the standard hamburger or fried chicken plate at most seaside restaurants. That is until I met the Megalodon. A burger topped with brisket AND burnt ends sandwiched between two pieces of Texas toast. I felt a certain sense of accomplishment eating the whole thing in one sitting. Although I practically couldn't eat anything else for the rest of the day. Bugger if I know what anything else at the place tasted like, I'd go back for that burger. Fries also had large salt (sea-salt?) chunks on them which tasted fantastic, but one probably shouldn't eat too many. If you enjoy eating the elements, this is a great seaside venue where you may be under a roof but you feel the ocean you. We did have to contend with some flies though. I'm from Ohio, but I have family in Carolina Beach. Just this year, I've been there 5+ times. Every single time I visit Seawitch because it's my ALL TIME favorite place to go in any state. To start off, the vibes are super laid back and the staff is overall pretty welcoming! My favorite thing to get is the shrimp poboy, extra crab aioli. AMAZING, their sweet potato fries, mouth watering LOL. If you're okay with sushi, their ahi tuna nachos with wonton chips and mango salsa, perfect way to start any meal/evening/night on the beach. I've taken friends + family there, and everyone's loved it. Never got a bad thing their or had a bad experience. All employees I've encountered are very attentive. I have to Yelp for Seawitch as we had a really good experience. We had to go to Carolina Beach late Friday afternoon and decided to make an evening of it with dinner and drinks. We got a couple of recommendations, Seawitch being one. Arriving at 7pm we really like the atmosphere with the outside deck and open venue. Really nice and as it turns out, the band was setting up. While we had read that the food was average, we found the service and food to be great. Our waitress was very nice, did a great job and stay attentive the entire time. A manager check on our table as well as other during our stay. We sent for the grilled mahi tacos with sweet potato fries. The tacos were loaded with fish, spicy, and delicious. Everything was hot as well. The drink specials topped off our first visit as did the band. So, for a nice beachy place with good music, fun and food....Seawitch. read more

One star and nothing more. I would even consider of giving 0 star if I could. I came with a group of 18 people. We called ahead since we know we are a huge party. They told us that they will be able take us at 8 and that was when we arrived. I wasn't expecting much because its just a restaurant by the beach where they can make money off tourists regardless. However, what I experience was just unacceptable. First when we arrived, they were going to seat us at 5 separate table (we told them we had 20 people originally). They didn't even bother putting tables together for us. Their excuse was that there wasn't enough room to put together a table for 20 people. Ok, I understand, but the least you could do is to form two tables! How hard is that? They ended up putting together two big tables for us after we requested it. I was very disappointed with the service at that point and hoped that the food would save the restaurant. I decided to share a shrimp taco and crab cake sandwich with my friend. The shrimp taco was pretty good. It's a pretty decent portion and they give you plenty of shrimps in each of the two tacos. I didn't experience the problem of my tacos getting soggy and I actually had my crab cake sandwich first too. However, they barely seasoned the shrimp which I can't understand why. The chips and salsa were decent as well. The crab cake sandwich on the other hand was bland and tasteless. It looked promising when they first brought it to the table. The burger was topped with chipotle mayo and severed with a side of fries/(i got sweet potato fries instead) and a pickle slice. Everything looked good until I bit into the sandwich. It had no flavor! The crab cake was meh and I would have never knew that they added chipotle mayo in the burger if I didn't see it earlier. I wouldn't recommend the place, but if you have to go, their tacos are pretty decent. read more

Fun place. Good food, awesome atmosphere and the service was top notch. Wife is from Maryland and NEVER chances ordering a crab cake unless she is in Maryland. Since we had been at Kure Beach all week she was really wanting to get a crab cake. The waitress (Angela or Angie) recommended the crab cake and accepted my wife's challenge of "I am from Maryland"! As you can guess this story has a happy ending. Very good crab cake! I had the Bacon Burger and it was also good. Kinda wish I had tried the crab cakes too, but I didn't even get a bite of my wife's! Seawitch was a bitching good time on a Saturday night over Labor Day weekend. They had a $3 cover charge because of the live band. We dined there, but the wait for our table was very long and the food was not worth the wait. What eased the pain was the music and fun atmosphere. (There was an eclectic mix of old and young people. What a really cool spot. Very low key and comfortable. Close to our rental which was great. We had a great meal without spending a fortune. My husband and I were looking for a casual dinner while we were in Carolina beach over the weekend and after reading good yelp reviews decided on seawitch and we are so glad we did! The wait was long but that's to be expected on a Saturday night so no points deducted there! Service wasn't excellent, although the place was crammed to the gills so I imagine our server had a hard time keeping up. The high rating comes for the food and food alone. I'm not someone who typically eats much fried food but I will splurge on a few items, one being good fried seafood which is what I had here. The scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly, both were so tender I could easily cut them with my fork with a very light but flavorful breading. The huspuppies were excellent as well! This is a bar that also happens to serve food, and you should set your expectations accordingly. Nothing about the place is exceptional in a positive way. The food was okay--unless you are gluten free. Only two items on the menu are marked gluten free (a salad and the peel-and-eat shrimp appetizer). They offer gluten free bread for sandwiches, but nothing about this place would make me trust the grill. The live music was so absurdly loud that we couldn't talk to each other at the table, nor could the waitress even hear us. The wait was long even on a weeknight. Definitely not worth visiting unless you're nothing more than a college graduate looking for a drink. Frankly, I considered a 1 star review, and it would be if you were looking for a gluten free establishment. Consider this a 1.5 star review and strong recommendation against eating here. read more

We found this place while late at Carolina beach one night after we took the dog for a walk..... the hostess was so considerate about the dog and she tried to seat us ASAP..... the inside is really look! You would never expect it from the outside but there's palm trees through the floor live music and all the tables have different art on them....Sarah? I think her name was, was our waitress she was training a new waitress named deena. The girls did amazing! We got into the restaurant a little late but never felt rushed. We had probably about a 35 minute wait for a party of 11 which is not too bad. The food more than made up for the inconvenience of the wait after we had been originally told it would only be 15 minutes. After a long day on the beach, Seawitch was the perfect spot to recover! They had a large amazing deck perfect to enjoy with friends and the pupster!
