Second State, Second Home. Quality coffee and great atmosphere. Barista complimented my sweater, so extra brownie points for that!

One of my favorite coffee shops in Charleston! Thankful for the peaceful ambiance and quality espresso. Baristas are always kind.

Top notch coffee in a new modern, chill setting. Second State has several franchises in Charleston and their beans are also used by several other coffee companies in the area. Safe to say they are one of the best coffee shops in Charleston. This new location is smaller than their others but very nice. Staff is excellent, kind and professional.

Blink and you'll miss it ... it's in the new Oyster Park development at Rifle Range and Ben Sawyer. New and bright, it's a perfect place to grab a quick cup of hot coffee or cold brew. As my visit was on the second day, it did not seem unusual that the bakery selections were few and limited to a few scones (and maybe something else that I do not recall) ... the grab and go was sparse ... and, there was neither any plant based sugar substitutes like Stevia, or sugar free syrup. I'd like to think that these items will fill in quickly. Cold brew comes in one size and I paid an up charge for almond milk ... oh, well. The shop opens in time for your morning commute and closes 3:00 PM (4:00 PM on Saturday.). Surprisingly, this location is closed on Sunday. In the heart of a growing apartment community (with an on site pool) it's a shame that residents have to drive down Coleman for their coffee or a cool drink. Wishing this new business much success ... welcome to the neighborhood!

Only went here cause I saw another Yelper post the latte art lol But had a vanilla latte and a brown sugar latte and both were so authentic and perfect tasting!! They only had whole milk (no skim) but that's prob why it tasted so good.

I finished receiving a blissful massage at the NOW massage studio next door and needed an afternoon pick-me-up where this coffee shop fulfilled that wish! The menu offers smoothies, espresso drinks, tea, wine + juice bottles for sale to-go, and offers some desserts too! There's plenty of seating indoors with some chairs outside too. The crew member was super friendly and made our drinks real quick. I got the cortado with whole milk and loved the espresso so much. My Dad got a regular coffee and tired a sip which had a good taste to it. I like the glass cup the cortado came in and the art looked like a heart which made me smile! There's also a spot where you can pour yourself some water so enjoyed a refreshing cup to balance out the energetic espresso bliss. I would recommend this coffee shop in a heartbeat! Also grateful they were open until 5PM vs 3PM, I love to support local coffee shops!

Just came to this location for the first time. I already know that I love second state coffee, so I tried the barista's recommendation: iced matcha peach tea latte. Selected oat milk. SO lovely! Very friendly service as well - great barista. And I REALLY like the aesthetic of this place!

Checking out the newest second state location!

Meh - my chai had very little flavor. Disappointed.... And then there was the service. The person wasn't very friendly!

The coffee was just ok. The wasn't anything that blew me away. I will probably go elsewhere next time or try something different.

A first visit here proved to be worth it. The maple latte was beyond what I expected in flavor. A true sipping experience.

Great coffee, really like their espresso. Easy to swing in and out in the morning. Smaller working environment but good if you get a spot!

Considering how tricky parking can be in this area, I knew we were off to a great start!  The meal certainly did not disappoint. We ordered the "Diver Scallops" and the "Grilled Swordfish," both of which were absolutely delicious. I opted for the 8 oz portion, and while the 4 oz might have sufficed, the larger serving truly hit the spot.  To complement the stunning creekside views, where boaters casually drifted by, we indulged in a cheesecake for dessert. It was the perfect finish to an already incredible dining experience.  I'm already looking forward to returning soon!

We sat inside late afternoon and loved the atmosphere. We started with the Pineapple Martini and the T&T Martini (olive oil washed vodka, vermouth & blue cheese stuffed olives). Both were completely different but equally delicious! For dinner, my sister had the Brisket Mac & Cheese and I ordered the Shrimp & Grits. Both dishes were absolutely awesome. Everything was so flavorful that no extra salt or pepper was needed. The shrimp & grits had the perfect spicy kick -- seriously delicious. We skipped dessert, but the highlight afterward was spotting a dolphin swimming through the channel. Such a perfect ending to a really enjoyable meal. Definitely recommend! Shout out to the ladies at Trader Joe's for the recommendation.

Think lasagna, baked ziti, grilled sausage, peppers and onions, and a lot more. The classic Italian desserts looked delicious but I'm trying to stick with my New Year's resolution a little longer. Today, I ordered "Godmother's Turkey" (turkey, artichoke hearts, roasted peppers, spinach, mozzarella, garlic mayo). I think this was the best sandwich I've had in Mount Pleasant. Everything was fresh and perfectly portioned. I added a Caesar salad - and while very simple, it was made of crisp lettuce with crunch croutons. Dressing was the classic variety. The counter staff was very friendly and our order took only about 5-7 minutes to make. There's indoor and outdoor seating and a little shopping area where you can browse wines, oils, and more. Very casual atmosphere. No servers as it's counter service only. I recommend take out as they do a great job boxing and wrapping everything.
