I honestly never thought I'd be writing a review like this for a storage unit as what could be so remarkable about a storage unit that you'd actually recommend this one over other besides the obvious - "you get more space here for less." So that alone is impressive about this facility. Every single staff member is so damned genuine and like able. They are so friendly, helpful, funny but not in a fake insincere way. I actually look forward to getting to see them when I have to pass by my unit. They have awesome gifts simply for checking in. They have a pretty gourmet keurig type coffee set up and bowls of candy/chocolates and an easily accessible bathroom. Their rates are competitive and very reasonable and often have discounts (got my first two months at $69 instead of $138). Not to mention free use of their 17' (pretty sure it's either 15' or 17') moving fan which saves you the money and hassle of a uhaul. Truly a superior experience to any other storage facility that either myself or anyone I know has rented from. read more

I emailed SPS on a Friday night and by Sat am I had an answer to my questions and then even prompter answers to more questions. All the other places I emailed still haven't answered... I was looking for storage that was close enough to North Coast Village and the beach in Oceanside so I wouldn't have to drive way inland - but I wasn't expecting to really find anything west of the 5 - never mind the 101! The owners, Gloria and Chris, are friendly and fully engaged in their business. They are no nonsense people, organized, and ready to meet your needs. The facility is clean, well maintained, and feels safe. They honored our mutual Chamber of Commerce memberships with a discount. Why not 5 stars? I just wish access was available a little later in the evening, but since they are on site managers 24/7 I understand they need to have a life too. I chose a unit here because of the location and price, and the lack of hard-sell by Shari, who showed me several units to make sure I got the one I wanted. The facilities are pretty good and the service here has always been phenomenal. There are no climate-controlled units, which is pretty typical for Southern California, especially this close to the water, but the temperature fluctuation may be a concern for some people. I took a unit on the third floor and it got HOT, even in October. So I made sure to store my expensive instrument (a harp) elsewhere. One nice thing about the third floor, though, is the higher ceilings, and I packed my 10'x10' all the way to the top! The elevators were always in working order, and there were carts available every time I came by. Sometimes I found the smells outdoors and indoors not very pleasant, but there isn't much they can do about the outdoor smell and at least my unit was clean. I found evidence of termites in the walls, but that is common around here and my stuff seems unaffected. I am moving to Los Angeles in two weeks from the writing of this review, and was able to pay a partial month without any issue. I would strongly recommend this storage facility to my friends and family. read more

Starting to get frustrated with constant rate increases, over 30% in 5 years. I was just randomly charged $76. When I called they said they didn't know why. I called back and they reversed the charge. They said it was random, just a glitch. Weird though. read more

We just rented a storage facility here to store a bunch of things from an office we moved out of. We looked online, researched a bunch of places and came across these guys and gave them a call. Over the phone, they answered all of our questions and were really helpful seeing as I've never rented a storage space before. The biggest issue was what size of unit we needed and they were really good about discussing the amount of furniture we had and what size we would need. The best part about using this place is that they have a truck to use for moving. When you have to spend over $100+ a day on a UHaul truck, it's great to save that money so that is one really big benefit of using this place. The sign up process was pretty basic and straight forward and we got into our unit quickly. I especially liked the security for the unit in that area. They have a security gate to get in and cameras going all over so I am comfortable leaving my stuff there. If you are looking for a good storage place, I Would recommend these guys. read more

Relentless price increases, robber barons to say the least! We started at $425 for our space and now we pay $560. It is almost like having an adjustable mortgage! Never goes down, always up. Maybe City of Oside could put rent controls on storage like they did for apartments and housing? read more

When we moved in, they provided us with free use of a moving truck and a move-in discount. I couldn't give it a perfect score, as the price kept going up and up over the 18 months I was there. The owners are sweet as pie, showed me multiple units, and reserved a unit right by the elevator for my move after my husband deployed. I offered a security deposit to hold the unit but they declined saying to call when I was ready to move in and the unit would be waiting for me. Fast forward 2 weeks to the day before my move, two days after my husband has left for Afghanistan.... I call to confirm the reservation and the owner tells me she gave away my unit because they had an "emergency." Not only did she give away my unit, she did not inform me that it had been given away. I had to call to find out the day before I'm going to pull up with a u-haul full of my crap. In addition, she didn't even know that they would have a unit big enough for me as replacement. Thank you very much Secuirty Public Storage, I think I'll take my business elsewhere. If you're military and subject to short-term move-ins, move-outs, or deployments, please do yourself a favor and pass-up Secuirty Public Storage. Extra Space Storage (also in Oceanside) is about $10/mo more expensive but they're organized and take a small ($10) refundable deposit so you don't end up all packed up and nowhere to go. I highly recommend this storage facility and their managers and assistants. I collect art and will be selling it at a new design market place that's opening up that is very close to their called Sea Hive (1555 S. Coast Hwy) and I needed the space for the extra art. John & Naty Miller are awesome, they let me move to a bigger space easily without waiting for my window of opportunity, they gave me the discount on the new spot as well and are as nice as can be. The place is very clean, rodent and pest free with a new floor application. It's secure because they live there and there is cameras all over there. I was there 5 years ago and have had nothing but a positive experience with the place. Lastly, they some how lend you a truck for free to move in, you buy the gas, who does that? I currently have a storage unit in Oceanside Security Public Storage and I am very happy with the service they provide and storage units. Every time I arrive, the gates are secure, there is someone always on sight 24 hours a day and it is clean. SPS also makes it convenient for me to make a payment online, in person or directly taken out of my bank every month. I feel as though my property is in good hands knowing that it has great security measures in place. The managers and general managers are very friendly. . They are a very secure facility. Cameras watching and gate codes that unlock the units. Plus they just redid the floors! I really like this place and the friendly people that work here. Its a good facility- clean and well kept with a lot of space. It also has lots of carts for use which is nice and every door has its own alarm system which I think makes a huge difference when when storing your things. The manager Heather lives on site so someone is always available to help, and shes super nice. Heather is friendly, helpful and welcoming. She really knows how to figure out exactly what you need and get it for you! Overall a good, helpful and friendly staff. The only thing is Its kind of hard finding this place cause its tucked back on coast highway, but id still recommend it. Just look for the big sign for it and its not too hard to find. Its next to the bowling alley and up a long driveway and you can see it once up the driveway. Definitely come here if you need storage! read more
