If you are lucky enough to need glasses but are not actually blind, SEE Eyewear is a STEAL, since the price of the lenses comes included with the frame price, and the most expensive ones are usually ~$300-$400. Plus they also have cute ones on the 50% off shelf in the back of the store. If you are anything like me (almost blind and with a loveable but flat Asian nose) you'll need some add-ons but the glasses are super cute, good quality, and I think well worth it. It was $100 for the super thin lenses and then $50 to have nose pads drilled in which was super clutch because more often than not, I'll find cute glasses but then when I try them on, they just slide right off my face. The nosepads were done well and look natural on the frames I picked out. Anyways, I am loving my glasses from SEE which I've had for a good 6-7 months now. I wear glasses most days of the week so I am ECSTATIC that I found SEE! No more cheap Costco glasses for me! :-) read more

There is a rare experience these days: superlative customer service with a smile. They deliver this experience at See in he Beverly Center. The store manager, Justin, greeted me as soon as I walked in the door. I told him what I wanted, and he said - let me pick some frames I think you will like then you can sit down and try them on. I looked around as he created a collection of frames. I will admit I am normally super picky about my frames. Usually I try on everything in the store, find one that I am semi-satisfied with, and settle on it because it's the best they have. However, See has an amazingly fresh selection of frames (they make their own line) that are simply stunning. They range from conservative to very bold statements, with many in between. I could have easily walked out of there with five pairs of glasses that I absolutely loved. I ended up buying two pairs instead of one I loved them both so much. Justin delivered exceptional service, explained all the pros and cons of various choices, and gave an honest opinion of the pairs I tried on. I cannot recommend more highly this candy store of eye glasses! I would give it 10 stars if I could. The prices are reasonable and you will be the coolest four-eyes in town. After years of mediocrity (and boring selections) at Lenscrafters, I am no longer going to settle for that chain's high prices and poor delivery of services. read more

I'm SO excited! I have a fetish for designer eye wear and now that I have discovered SEE I can actually afford to indulge. I just got my tax return back and figured it was time to buy a new set of glasses. Not that I don't love my black square framed Pradas but it was time to spice it up. I was planning on dropping a small chunk of change but I was surprised on how affordable their eye wear was. I got a pair for $300 (frame, lenses and upgraded anti-reflective coating). I didn't have my prescription on me so the clerk, Chris said I could just fax it in the next day. Chris was great to work with and wasn't pushy at all. While I appreciate the help of the salespeople, hearing how every pair of glasses looks fantastic isn't really all that great for me. I do appreciate that the price of standard lenses is included on the frame price, I'm no good at math or estimation or making my own lenses... so the inclusion is a real plus. I love the huge selection of eyeglasses store and had been checking out new glasses for a while Tatyana greeted me and I told her what I was looking for and the price range. She was so helpful and knowledgeable about the inventory that I bought the first pair she found for my facial features. Believe me we looked at many pairs! The range of glasses styles was so amazing. From funky to business - I tried on every pair. The staff was so awesome and patient with me. I am soooo picky but everyone smiled and kept hunting for frames. I love that they don't carry the mainstream Calvin Kleins or Ray Bans - instead they buy their styles from many smaller eyeglass manufacturers abroad and use the SEE label. Much more originality here. I was disappointed that I missed out on some of the Groupons and deals, but at least my vision insurance (Blue Vision) covered about $280 of my glasses. I paid $220 out of pocket but I got all the add-ons - protective coating, thin lenses, the works. Next time I see a discount I am snatching it up. SEE is a bit on the higher end, but reasonable. Even at Lens Crafters hell, the frames are $129 and the total is $350+ before insurance covers anything. Also - if you join their email list they send out some amazing deals, like $100 off if you donate an old pair of prescription glasses. Got a groupon this time...I was very satisfied with my last purchase. Their frames are extremely cute and colorful. Their staff is very helpful. When you arrive they ask if you need any help, If you say "yes" they collect about 10 pairs for you and you get to try them all :) this process makes it some difficult because you end up liking more than 2 pairs, now you have to make a decision and choose only one unless you are very lucky and are well off $$$ Do come by and visit and check out all the frames - every month they bring in new frames. read more

I was very impressed with the customer service at SEE at Beverly Center. I was having a tough time with my lens prescription. What happened was I bought a pair of frames that I found at SEE, got a new prescription put in them, realized the prescription was wrong and I couldn't see with them, had to go back to see another eye doctor for a recheck, brought in a new prescription, got it put in the frames and then got the glasses back to find out the prescription was wrong AGAIN because I was dealing with the worst optometrists in all of Los Angeles (see my review on Lenscrafters on 8471 Beverly Blvd), and then I had to see yet another eye doctor to get an accurate prescription, SEE switched out the lenses again and finally the glasses are perfect! They did all this hassle-free within 30 days of my original glasses purchase. I couldn't be more grateful. Thank you especially to Tania and Henny who now know me by name because I've gone back to them so many times in the last month! Both of them were patient and helpful each time I came in until I was finally happy and comfortable with my new glasses. read more

I needed new eye glasses and was headed to Lensecrafters where I have been purchasing for several years when I came across the Groupon for SEE. I work in the Beverly Center so thought I would go "check out" SEE before I bought to Groupon deal. The store was very busy but it did not stop the staff from greeting me and answering my questions. I was so impressed with the edgy, stylish looks of the eyeglasses (as well as the staff) that I bought the Groupon deal on my iPhone while in the store! I went back to work and called Lensecrafters to get a copy of my prescription. I decided I would visit SEE and make my purchase today. I walked in and Tania greeted my right away smiling and she said "look around, try them on, have some fun!" I tried on many glasses and asked stylish Brian his opinion. Coolest frames this side of the Milky Way. They are pricey, but I don't see any problem spending money on something you like that you'll use frequently, and look totally rad in. I crushed my first frames that I purchased here by stepping on them (which breaks my heart because they don't reproduce their frames after a seasonal run, but also makes me go gangbusters because that makes them pretty damn special), so Henny let me pick up another pair for half off. I still dream about my old frames and shed a tear from time to time, but my new ones are very nice as well, and are actually a little more versatile. My previous frames had a really awesome gray faux-wood finish, and they were nice and thick, but it didn't go well with everything I wore. This store is hands down the best for eyeglasses and the staff couldn't be nicer! We stopped by for an adjustment to glasses we bought here a few years back. Upon entering the store we met Carlos and he was AMAZING! Not only did he offer to tighten the glasses, but actually took them apart to properly adjust the hinges and clean them. We asked about using a screwdriver for a pair we hadn't purchased from SEE, and Carlos even tightened those for us, plus cleaned them better than anything we can do before handing them back. My husband and I have purchased several pairs of eyeglasses/sunglasses over the years from SEE and plan to continue. This place rocks. I've only been here once, to get prescription lenses put into a sunglasses frame I already owned (not made by SEE). I also ordered some contact lenses. Brian was the guy who helped me out. He was awesome to work with, and a really nice person. He worked some accounting magic to help me take advantage of a $100-off promotion for bringing in used glasses. The lenses I got were already $100 less than they would have been at LensCrafters. With the promo, the awesome service, and (now, seeing the glasses) apparent meticulous attention to detail, I really have no complaints about this place. So I have a very complicated and frustrating prescription. These folks worked really hard to get my glasses right. This is my 2nd purchase over the years. Henny was patient and did everything to make my glasses perfect. I wrecked my old pair and while we were trying to get the new ones right, he took the lenses out of my old pair, found an identical pair off the shelf and got me hooked up until the new ones arrived. How only AWESOME is Henny! The new ones arrived and we still needed some tweaks. Okay, so I waited for one year after my old pair broke in two before I got a new one!! I just dreaded having to go to an optometrist! Henny the cool dude with the pony tail had been bugging me for over 8 months, persuading me to come into SEE which is only a couple floors below my work. I finally got new pair of glasses from there with the help of lovely Larissa as soon as I got my new prescription. I am very pleased with the style and the price (I got the Family & Friends Discount). I love the blueish grey frame!! I can see clearly now. I don't even miss my old battered pair of glasses. My wife and I walked into SEE looking for some opticals for my wife. We spent about 15-20 mins looking at frames for her. I spent a little bit of time looking at the sunglasses as my wife was trying different frames and neither of the sales associates bothered to say hello let alone ask us if we needed any help. This review is looooooooong overdue. Larissa and Henni tag-teamed my gorgeous glasses that I'm overly attached to (purchased from SEE in Boston in 2006-ish) and spent about a total of 3 hours over TWO different occasions to fix my glasses, trying to take care of it in the store so that I didn't have to send them away (they're my only pair. Yes Henni, I know, I need another pair, I'm working on it! ;). They were patient, kind, worked really hard on my glasses, and didn't make me feel like a freak when I asked to first take the disassembled pieces to the restroom so I could scrub-a-dub-dub in all those hard to reach crevices with the toothbrush and toothpicks that I brought (so sue me, I'm a virgo) before they put it all back together again. I asked them what I could do to show my appreciation, and they said it was their pleasure, but if I'd like to leave a Yelp review then that would be nice as that's one way their company registers compliments or complaints. SO Ms. and Mr. Higher-Ups, you have a talented team and a knack for hiring, because Henni and Larissa really, really came through for me!! P.S. Just to throw this out there for whoever's wondering, the frames and selection are great and absolutely worth checking out. I love that the lenses are included in the price, and everything's well made-- case in point: my aforementioned glasses, purchased in 2006...? I've worn them pretty much every single day since then. The staff at SEE couldn't be more awesome. I ordered my glasses in the Chicago store to be delivered in LA. When I went to pick them up, I found that something was very, very wrong and I couldn't see well through them. Long story short, one of the employees took a super long time with me trying to troubleshoot, and ultimately I took them to my optometrist and he said that he shouldn't have changed the prescription so aggressively. He gave me my old prescription which I emailed over to SEE, and they very kindly and cheerfully remade the glasses for me, and now they're perfect. I love, love, love the style and get tons of compliments, and am so happy with them. Definitely recommend coming here for all of your eyewear needs. read more

Went with my family to the Bev Center yesterday to hopefully find him a pair of glasses, as Lens Crafters just doesn't cut it for him. Stopped in to "See", and spoke with Tod, who was super friendly and helpful. The store has an amazing selection and their frames are made in Sweden, which makes me happier than frames made in China for some reason. SEE is continually adding new frames, which is great. I stop by every few weeks to see what they have. But the last three times I've been in there, I've had a salesperson shadow me like a lap dog. Even when I say "I'm just looking", they don't let up. It's so obtrusive that I walk ou just to get away form the salesperson. First of, I really love the frames at this business. They are very playful, unique and out of the ordinary. And that was exactly what i was looking for. So, my husband drove me there, an hour drive, no less. I was immediately helped by Megan, the store manager. She was very helpful and knowledgeable. I ended by purchasing 2 sets of eyeglasses. I ordered two from the CORE collection with a price tag of $159 each including lenses. Too bad, my prescription is kind of on the high side and so i ended up ordering high index clear single vision for an additional $169 and premium anti-reflective coating for an extra charge of $95. So the total for each came to $324.00 After i got home, i sort of have a buyer's remorse for spending that much $. I called around, called my optometrist and got a quote for the high index lenses and was told it is $129 which is $40 less than what See charged me. Then my optician also told me that the anti reflective coating already comes with this price!!! I even called Costco and their price is even more ridiculously low. for the same product, they are charging $100 for the high index and anti reflective coating! Imagine my consternation! So the very next day, I called the See store and was told that my order was not processed yet and that the lady that helped me was not working that day. The guy told me that I could call her the next day and it will be taken cared of. But the next day, the lady told me that the order was already processed the moment they swiped my card!!! She sounded pissed at me and told me in no uncertain term that the order was final and that there's nothing they can do about that processed order. I totally understand that they are in a mall and that rent is super high esp in Beverly Center. They need to charge more to make the overhead expenses. I am just disappointed that they were very unwilling to at least help. Also, I think I am more upset with myself for being a pushover. I realized that i could easily just order the ordinary lenses and pay regular price of $159 and order my high index lenses somewhere else,. I would end up saving $. Oh well, now that i received my glasses, I am very happy with them. If I order again from them, which is more likely, I would just order it with ordinary lenses and opt to change it to high index at a different place. Just so you guys know, their glasses are pretty cool and if you are like me, looking for something different, then this is the place for you. read more

Dear any potential candidate for new glasses: I was excited to get my first pair of non-lenscrafter's frames. I looked up SEE. I saw the great reviews and found myself, the next day, in the store. Their variety and style really intrigued me, so I bought a pair. I was let know that it might take from 4, but that it could take up to 7 days. That was ok because I wasn't leaving town for 9 days. 4 Days pass. I call questioning the progress of my glasses. I was told that their glasses usually arrive in not 4, but 7-10 days, and I was told I would receive a call back . I DID NOT. Then, I call the next day, knowing now that I have a time constraint. I let them know that the glasses needed to arrive before Thursday. Again, I was told that I would receive a call back regarding the status of my new frames. Again, I DID NOT. SO THIS WAS THE WORST PART, THAT RUINED IT: I contacted, The Director of Customer Relations, ERIN DECKER. After, what I thought were a few friendly email exchanges--in regards to getting the problem solved--she told me that I was too "aggressive." This is part of what she said in her condescending follow up, "Besides, being aggressive always leads to bad karma, right?" As the Director of Customer Relations, this was completely unprofessional and uncalled for. SEE Eyewear: I'm sorry....I'm sorry that I wanted my glasses on time, and that your representatives could not even communicate with a paying customer. Now, I've started here on Yelp to tell the truth about who the people are that YOU are purchasing these glasses from, INCOMPETENT AND RUDE. Great shop. I am a Boston Based customer but, See is my glasses connect and I stick with them. Pricey, classy, tasteful and well deserved. Custom funky frames with multiple options (student discount) multiple lens choices,etc. I will drop 400$ on a custom frame as long as no one else has em' and no one else has my taste. Beverly Center is a crazy spot but, drop off your shades, get some coffee and do some shopping. All in all over-priced but worth it. This was a very bad experience for me. Don't expect quality lens cutting or attention to detail. Expect to be used by a hustler of a salesman, heavy pressure selling, trendiness, deception. The place where they send the frames to have the lenses cut did such a terrible, imprecise job that after 2x redoing it, & it still being done wrong, I demanded my money back. After going to Lenscrafters (whose frame selection made me want to commit suicide) and Eyetailor (who offers exquisite frames and impeccable customer service, but does not accept my insurance), I had low hopes for finding some badass frames. I bought the groupon for $200. The only options under 200 are the core collection, which was excluded. Youll be spending an additional 50-200 for a pair of decent eyeglasses. It was a big disappointment, they definitely had some cute frames... Actually there were a few (like 3 styles, super tiny and thin) of the readers that were cheap, but they werent stylish at all. I couldve just gotten that at costco for 50 bks less. And honestly, i was there for like 15min and didnt really get any attention. Even when i tried to get it. He had helped like 3 people privately since id arrived. Which, who knows maybe they were waiting, i dunno. But i felt, even so, he couldve took an interest in what i was looking for. Like maybe pointed me in the right direction to glasses that i could afford (within the limits of the groupon, which i mentioned i had) and look at while i waited. As oppose to ill help you in a minute, after several had already passed. And i was clearly seeming a bit dismayed when he mentioned the exclusions. He was nice, but it was busy and ifelt neglected as a customer. Being that ive worked plenty retail, i could attest, there are ways around that. For the last few years I have bought all my glasses here and routinely get complimented on them. I love my glasses from here so much that I no longer have any interest in wearing contacts (that and sticking my finger in my eye has lost all appeal). See has funky, unique frames in loads of colors and the frames are usually limited in number so not many other people will have your same style of glasses. I've been a loyal customer for the past 3 years. To date, my collection includes 4 regular frames and 1 pair of aviator sunglasses. I just cannot tell you how I'm such a big fan of your brand. I get the best compliments from all of my frames, but my newest ones (SEE 6705) from this year are by far my favorite! I always receive the BEST customer service from Brian on down and always walk out knowing that the staff go out of their way to find the best frames( for me. I joke that I have a big coconut head and that it's hard to find frames that fit my face. With that thought in mind, all of the associate(s) point me to the right direction. I often try dozens before I find the perfect pair and the folks there just keep on going until I find just the right pair without hesitation. A lot of the negative reviews I read here rate you poorly because of a perceived 'bait and switch' tactic with Groupon and assorted add-ons. You guys are definitely not the cheapest out around, but I'm a firm believer of paying top dollar for top quality product. My $300 frames end up being twice the value with my progressive lenses, etc. I always balk (silently to myself) at the final cost, but because you have the most unique styles out there that always turn heads, I gladly fork over the credit card knowing I'll probably be one of a select few sporting your cool frames anywhere. I even trek out of my way in LA traffic via the 405 from Redondo Beach just to visit you! If word of mouth is one the best forms of marketing, then you can count me in on preaching the word of SEE Eyewear now and forever!!! You've gained a devoted customer for life.
