Great food, great drinks, great service! Had an awful experience at Marlows, so I decided to check this place out. Glad I did! This will be my new go-to when I'm in this part of town. The lovely Lady behind the bar Kristen made our day! We had a delicious Prosecco Elderberry with a lemon twist. So yummy! She also gave me a taste of their Moscow mule they have on tap. So good! They have an amazing cocktail list. We'd had a few bites of an appetizer at Marlows, so we were not hungry. All the food came out and looked amazing! Atmosphere was bright and airy. Everyone happy. We had brunch at Seed with some friends. It was our first time there, and we enjoyed it. The restaurant is located in a strip mall, so I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but it is really nice inside. We ordered two appetizers: the pimento cheese crostini and the deviled eggs. The pimento crostinis were my favorite by far! The table really liked the deviled eggs, but I personally prefer a plain deviled egg. I ordered a glass of the freshly squeezed orange juice, and for $5, I was pleasantly surprised with the size. It was tasty! I wish I would have ordered a mimosa after tasting the orange juice :) We were seated next to the counter that dishes that were ready were placed, and everything that we saw looked good! I wanted to try the French toast, but I ultimately chose the farmer's breakfast. The grits and sourdough toast were delicious! Quick Tips: Make a reservation, Expect to pay a decent amount, and Ask the Server for suggestions! My husband brought me here for date night. It is an upscale casual vibe so you don't have to get all glammed, but you don't look out of place if you do. It also seemed pretty crowded and we did an early dinner so I'm glad we had a reservation. Started with the Rosy and Mary cocktail- it was delicious. Kind of like a light liquor old fashioned. We got the Crispy Calamari as a starter. It was a good portion and had good flavor, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. I asked the waitress for some suggestions because there were so many delicious things to choose from. I'm a sucker for Risotto anyways and the Scallops did not disappoint. Seed's strong reputation stands with reason. Service is phenomenal as servers are quick and helpful. Food-wise, Seed doesn't disappoint yet the only thing that surprised me is the small amount of steak on the steak frites. While it is made up for with the plethora of fries, don't be shocked when you see it. I tried the cornbread and calamari, both being satisfactory and everything you'd expect. The steak frites are pretty average yet still good. I got a hint of a smoky flavor from the steak which I enjoyed, but overall nothing mind blowing or unique. For dessert, I received a complimentary skillet cookie and tres leches for my birthday. Both were phenomenal and while the tres leches isn't necessarily authentic it is still enjoyable. I had a chance to check out Seed Kitchen and Bar for dinner Saturday night. My girlfriend recommended we check it out since she had heard good things. We didn't have a reservation but there were open seats at the bar which was fine for us. Our bartender was really good and gave us recommendations on popular cocktails and food dishes. We ordered the calamari for an appetizer and it was really good with the sauce. For my entree, I ordered the Springer Mt. Farms Chicken Schnitzel which appears to be a very popular dish here. It was great! The chicken was seasoned very well and I like the salad on top of it with the sauce. It gave a healthy dish vibe. The ambiance of the restaurant was nice as well. Completely forgot to take pictures of the food, but trust when I say everything was delicious. Because of the food, my rating went from a 3 star review to a 4 star one. Reservations: I was joining for a friend's birthday. The wife did make reservations ahead of time. I'm not entirely sure if it's 100% necessary, but I would recommend it just to be on the safe side. Parking: There is ample free parking, as it is located in a pretty big shopping center. Food: Goodness - the food was delicious. Our table ordered apps, entrees, and dessert. I tried the crostini, the fritters, the Korean Short Rib, the Maple Bourbon Crème Brûlée, and the Peanut Butter Chocolate parfait. Literally all of it was incredible. The prices are kind of high but recognizing they try to source all their ingredients locally helps with that. Their menu changes seasonally to keep up with what ingredients are in season. Drinks: I ordered the mule and it was delicious. I could've kept drinking it all night (if only I didn't have to drive back home). They have a variety of cocktails, wines, and more. Everyone at the table seemed to really enjoy their beverages. Vibe: Our waiter was super nice and attentive. He shared his top picks from the menu and I just loved his attitude. What I really didn't like (and the reason I originally thought this would be a 3 star review), the tables are fairly close together. It was a tight squeeze for the wait staff to go by and I thought surely they would find another route once I sat down. Some did; some didn't. My chair kept getting knocked into the entire night. I wasn't thrilled. The chair itself was scoot as close to the table as I could, and it didn't feel the most sturdy so I was nervous trying to even scoot it closer. Also, the lighting is pretty dim in the space and I personally wasn't a big fan of that but some people may like that. Overall, I probably won't be going back anytime soon. I was visiting the area, and this restaurant came highly recommended. We absolutely loved our appetizer, the corn grits fritters. They were absolutely delicious! The Parmesan garlic fries were also delicious. Our table of four split two plates of them! I ordered sweet potato ravioli, and it was heavenly! Another diner at my table had salmon and asparagus, and said it was perfectly cooked. Another dining companion of mine had the crispy fish tacos. I was able to sample one. My husband and I have been dining at Drift Fish house and Oyster bar for a couple of years now and figured we would have a similar good experience with their sister restaurant. We tried Seed Kitchen and Bar for the first time at the height of the pandemic when everything we ordered was basically to go and the food was ok. We ended up trying Seed again more recently since our food experience was decent but not on the level of Drift that first time. So this time we ordered to go . The Food was ready on time and brought out to our car. We ordered the calamari, which was ok, nothing to write home about. I don't mean to keep comparing but Drift has the best Calamari that we have ever had so Seed should probably adapt that same recipe. My husband had the Bay of Fundry Salmon which came over mashed potatoes, it was cooked well and quite tasty. The sauce that came with the meal was different, I wasn't a fan of the sauce. I had the Pan Roasted blue cod with caramelized brussels sprouts & cauliflower, and thai herb vinaigrette. My fish was excellent, it was fresh and cooked to perfection. The veggies were well made and tasty. The sauce was different, it didn't taste bad had a nasty smell. Overall the food that I have tried here is ok. Came here one afternoon with the family since we happened to be in the area and were looking to finally try this place out. Started with the deviled eggs and they were excellent. We didn't realize they had smoked salmon in them so that was a fortuitous surprise. The chicken schnitzel and blue cod were two entrees ordered that came out very well and hot. The pork porterhouse had to be sent back to grill a little longer as it initially came undercooked (can't eat pork that way). We were recommended this spot by a neighbor since we're relatively new to the area and WOW. The food was incredible! I'm big into flavor and each item we tried was tastefully done. We've been back twice more since. On our first visit, we sat outside and weren't getting any service so we went in and asked to be moved- no fuss or anything. They took it upon themselves to compensate us and the waitress we ended up having was incredibly hospitable. Very busy and loud for 12p. But it was a Friday. I was still able to snag a seat at the bar. Had the Seed 75 cocktail. Thought it would be similar to a French 75, but this drink is VERY pomegranate forward. Started with the white cheddar grit fritters. Very tasty but would have preferred the sauce on the side for dipping instead of under the fritters making them soggy. Had the fish taco for my entree. The fish was not seasoned at all. Wish I had gone with my first mind and gotten the burger. Fries also lacked flavor. Server was super swamped but still very pleasant. Had a nice lunch meeting here. Was greeted when I walked in and the server was very friendly. I ordered the Hanger Steak Frites with herb onion caramel, parmesan garlic fries, and red wine jus for $35. I ordered the steak medium rare and thought that was the right temperature, at least for me personally. The server did mention to another guest at my table that the chef recommends medium, so just an FYI. I liked my steak, however the fries were really too salty. Usually a little salty is fine, but this was too much for me. If not for that, I thought the meal would've been better. My cousins and I go out once a month and decided to try this place. The atmosphere is nice, beautifully decorated at the corner of a strip mall. We got deviled eggs and fried calamari to share, and they were good. For our meals, we got the sweet potato ravioli, salmon, and scallops. The sweet potato ravioli was mine. It was good, but not for the price and portion size. I was expecting a bit more, to be honest. The scallops were cold when they arrived at the table. It was taken back and essentially reheated. Seed Kitchen and Bar is a stylish, modern, farm house style American restaurant with a farm to table menu situated in the Merchant's Walk plaza in East Cobb, Marietta specifically. They are open for lunch and dinner during the week, along with brunch on Sundays. They are a location that closes between each meal service, so keep that in mind if you are a late lunch or early dinner kind of person! The menus are fairly limited in options with the dinner menu having around 8 - 11 options for meals plus appetizers, soup, sides and desserts. The plate options are wide in variety from burgers to seafood and duck and even schnitzel. Sides include some really great veggies such as asparagus, brussels, greens and even succotash and risotto! We do not indulge on every visit, but we just have to get the skillet cookie for dessert every now and again...it is worth it every time! While the food menu may not be bursting at the seams with choices, the bar certainly has it all! To put it in perspective...the food menu is one page while the bar menu is three! A few of our favorites are... - White Corn Grit Fritters (app) - Smoked Chicken Tacos (app) - Merchant Burger (plate) - Hanger Steak Frites (plate) - Grilled Asparagus with Roasted Lemon & Parm (side) - Pimento Cheese Polenta (side) - Mule on Draft (cocktail) - Seed 75 (cocktail) Service has always been stellar on our visits in. The host(ess) are always kind and helpful, and the servers are always friendly and knowledgeable. Absolutely no issues with service! While the food and drinks are tasty and delish, some of the items are priced a little higher than expected. I am not saying the freshness and quality aren't deserving of the price, just noting it... A few examples are all house cocktails are $12.95+, while the burger comes in around $18 with many other entrée plates priced above $30. On a date night, we usually spend upwards of $100, so it is definitely a special occasion spot for dinner dates. My husband and I were in the north Atlanta suburbs to attend an opera matinee in Sandy Springs, and we picked Seed for brunch before the show. While the menu didn't blow me away with its creativity (it's mostly standard brunch fare but done very well), everything we tried was very good. We started with the chickpea hummus (served with fried bits of halloumi cheese, pomegranate seeds, pepitas, za'atar, mint, olive oil, and pita). The halloumi was a fun touch, and the pepitas were great texture. I didn't, however, taste any za'atar or mint, and I thought a drizzle of pomegranate molasses rather than the pomegranate seeds might have added a bit of sourness/tartness to the dish (because the hummus came out a bit sweet?). But the texture was lovely. My husband got the Maryland lump crab eggs benedict, which was very good. Actual lumps of crab. Left alone. You could really taste the beautiful, sweet crab! Very nice. I had the smoked salmon & potato pancakes, which was good as well. Simple dish done well. Again. (Simple things like correctly poaching eggs isn't as easy as it sounds, and Seed knows how to get these details right!) The restaurant is beautiful without looking like it's trying too hard (as two people visiting from Nashville that was refreshing), and the service was really excellent. Visited Seed again for dinner before a movie with friends. Once again a great meal with great service! Thank you! I started with a beer (Black Widow) which was almost like a meal. Great blackberry flavor. For dinner, I had the pork porterhouse medium, which was delicious. Not sure how they make the sauce, but it was so amazing. I ate that with a glass of Albariño. Wife had the chicken schnitzel which she gets almost every time - solid pick. That is her favorite there and she sticks with it. She drank the Berry Nice cocktail which was delicious, but it seemed like a pretty light pour. It was more than an inch from the top of the glass and when she pulled the ice cube up, it was literally two fingers of drink. $13. Amount of liquid was the only negative, the drink was delicious. Our server, Rado, was excellent. Friendly, observant, and knowledgeable about the various dishes, beers, and cocktails. Always there when we needed him, but never intrusive. Great server! read more

I made a reservation for three at 2:15pm through Open Table. I didn't realize that the kitchen closed between lunch and dinner service at 2:30pm. One member of our party and had an emergency with her parents and couldn't arrive until 2:30pm. Our waitress did offer to have the kitchen stay open late, but honestly, we got our friends order over the phone so it worked out. I ordered the Grilled Salmon salad and pomegranate ginger ale. The salmon was cooked perfectly and was well seasoned. The salad part was okay but I expected it to be more flavorful based on the description, especially with the spiced walnuts. I can't say that I tasted any spice and there were not a ton of walnuts. I did add a lot of salt and pepper and was happier with it. No pictures - was too busy talking with friends. read more

My husband is from New England and he was no at all disappointed with their Maine style LRoll! As a matter of fact, He said "give this place 5 stars!" The bread was soft and perfectly grilled! The lobster was falling out of the sandwich! The size looked small at first but after the very last bite, it was PERFECT! We so enjoyed every bite! My mom and I were in the Marietta area on Friday and found this place for a quick lunch spot. When we arrived, they were pretty packed and we were unable to be seated at a table due to it being a 30 minute wait, so we opted to sit at the bar. Molly was the bartender is she was great! We ordered the Merchant Burger with French fries and the Korean Chicken Sandwich with French fries. Both the burger and the chicken sandwich were really good, but as you can see, the bun wasn't the best fit and fell apart while eating. The French fries were hand cut and they were delicious. A coworker introduced me to Seed, and I'm so glad she did! This staple is tucked into an east Cobb shopping plaza but don't let the location distract you. The restaurant takes its food and service seriously. The menu was largely southern fare with a few seasonal fall specials when I stopped by for dinner. My table enjoyed deviled eggs, butternut squash soup, and roasted duck breast. I wanted to like the soup more, and it was fine, but we were both surprised that it had a bit of a sweet taste to it. We were too stuffed for more but next time I want to taste the legendary corn fritters, Brussels, and dessert! They have a lush patio for outdoor dining, a large bar area, and can make private spaces for events. Definitely make a reservation! I've been wanting to try this restaurant forever. So glad we finally did! Ambiance is sharp, and even if a Saturday night it never got too loud for us to hear each other at our table. You can thank me by sending me some. Only 4 come to an order, so If there are more than 2 of you, get 2 orders. You are going to need at least 2 fritters all to yourself. Husband got the shrimp and grits - good. Friend got soup and tacos - very good. Friend got the short rib - woah! And I got the sweet potato ravioli - gluttonously good. I'm not sure if they make the pasta themselves, but it tasted homemade. Dessert. Since we were celebrating a birthday, they brought complementary tres leches. The table also ordered the blueberry bread pudding and the skillet cookie. If anything was lacking about this meal, I'd say it was dessert. The tres leches was good not great.
