I wish I could have given this place 5 stars but here is why I didn't ....I have driven by a few times and finally decided to stop by today. We had the chili cheese fries, truffle mac n cheese (my 14 yr old loved it), and the strawberry watermelon mint water (it was so fresh and flavorful) The food was over all very delicious but boy was it HOT in there, the a/c was not working at all. The whole time we ate we were a sweaty mess, I was not able to enjoy my food that is why I am giving 3 stars (only because of the a/c issue) The service and food is 5 stars!! I am a true carnivore but I thought I'd give plant based foods a try. I liked the theme of the restaurant and the way it was decorated. I also really liked that they provide cucumber infused water instead of plain flat water. I ordered the truffle Mac and cheese with bacon, potato fries, and the cucumber water. I was really impressed with the "cheese" because it tasted just like regular cheese. However, I didn't like the bacon rice paper. In the future, I would order it without the bacon. The potato fries were also very good. My friends ordered the PBJ Style Impossible Burger and Thai Tea. They let me try it and the "meat" was great. Oh no!! Seed Shack, if I didn't love you I would make this one star. I went in today for a chai tea. I asked the girl what's in it, she said she didn't know and didn't care to find out. She said it comes in a bag and no one in the restaurant would know what's in it. I asked about the Thai tea instead, again same response. I saw a long haired man wandering back and forth into the kitchen and back area, so I asked him. He seemed completely surprised that I would speak to him! It was honestly too much food since the tacos may look like a small portion (veggies do fill you up!!) and I had to ask for a to go container. The cauliflower & chickpeas are perfectly roasted and the seasoning is on point! I asked for hot sauce but didn't need it, not because the dish was too spicy but it was well balanced in the use of its seasonings in the Japanese manner. The truffle mac & "cheese" is to die for! However, it is much better without the little "bacon bits". They don't really add much flavor and they're more like little pieces of crunchy paper. My mom has gone with me and she is not vegan, but she says it's some of the best she's ever had! She likes it even better than regular mac & cheese. The cauliflower chickpea tacos are pretty good. I love Seed Shack! I never get a chance to take pictures because I usually stuff my face too quickly! I almost always get the Beyond Burger, which is amazing because of their made in house cashew cheeze. They also have my favorite vegan Mac and cheeze! My son loves it, and their full size with "bacon" bits on it is so yummy. My husband loves their beet burger, it's his go to every time. The staff and owner are also all very friendly. They're always kind, helpful and on top of everything. It is typically pretty quiet and calm, which I love. Their music is instrumental popular music, which is really a nice change of pace. There are only a couple of cons. It is kind of pricey and a bit of a splurge when my family can go here together. Their fries also tend to be undercooked more often than not. They are the only thing I've gotten from here that has been disappointing. But, I love supporting local businesses (and especially local vegans!) so these cons don't matter to me too much. Finally I found a place that I can order something on the menu and not have to obsess over what ingredients may be in the food or how they might have prepared the meal. After battling with lactose intolerance and other stomach issues, it's nice to have a place that dairy free and everything on the menu is edible for me. The place is small and quaint, perfect for a casual lunch, date night, or an evening with friends. The seating was comfy, the mood and relaxing, and the staff very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent! I literally wanted to try one of everything but unfortunately, I had to settle on one entree so I went for the BBQ Jackfruit Pita with a side of sweet potato fries. It was very tasty, the pita was moist and delicious, and I couldn't even tell I wasn't eating BBQ meat. My wife ordered the Beet Burger which was amazing also! After that, we ordered fried plantains with Carbon Nice Cream for dessert. It was a nice treat that hit the sweet spot without being too rich or sugary. Overall, I'm excited to come back to this place. I'm not vegan per se but I know they have tasty food and I like that I don't have to worry about the ingredients. Review of the Impossible Burger. First of all nobody here mentions how the burger costs $17!!! That alone is extreme and unwarranted. This is not a 5 star gourmet restaurant; it's a whole in the wall in the back of a nearly abandoned run-down business complex. I was simply shocked by the pricing when I finally found the place, and looked at menu. As to the burger itself. No exaggeration, it was the worst tasting "burger" I've ever had. My lunch accomplice agreed. It had absolutely zero flavor outside of peanut butter and jelly. I basically paid $17 for a pb&j sandwich, with a hard tortilla chip on it. Wow. They significantly overcooked the Impossible patty. It does not need to be well done. The bread was not flavorful. I though it was going to be "Asian" style like the other reviews. No. Not at all. It's a peanut butter jelly sandwich with a won-ton / tortilla chip, cucumber and vegan meat. That's it. I am disappointed beyond belief at the price 8 paid for how unappealing the meal was. Lastly, the sweet potato fries were terrible. They were so undercooked that it was like eating a raw potato. Very greasy and too little salt. How can you mess up fries? Just cook them like they are supposed to be! I would never return here for any reason, as the next best item on the menu was the Beyond Meat burger, which listed at $15. I can go to Natural Grocers right down the street and get a 2 pack of these exact patties for $5 and make it taste delicious. I think most Yelpers leaving these 4 and 5 star reviews are the kind of people who literally cannot cook any meal besides a frozen dinner, and therefore they automatically rate nearly every restaurant highly. As someone who is an excellent self-taught chef, and been vegan and vegetarian at periods of my life, this restaurant truly does not deserve the ratings it has on here. I do not understand why so many Arizona restaurants think they can charge nearly $20 for a single casual sandwich / tacos plate / other basic meal, when they don't even have real chefs in the back preparing their food. If you want an actually delicious Impossible Burger, Thirsty Lion at Tempe Marketplace is still King and does it right, like a burger should be done. I recommend you go there if you want something that had flavor and costs less ($15). Good luck to this vegan restaurant. The owners should go to LA and take some notes on how great tasting vegan food is done. read more

This is a cute little place located in a strip of businesses connected to a Fry's. The atmosphere is calm, they had calming, peaceful instrumental music playing. There is ample seating, and cute fruit shaped pillows lining the booths on the wall. The menu features healthy vegetarian, vegan dishes, salads, amd smoothies. Our server was by right away after we sat down with 2 ice cold glasses of cucumber water. So refreshing! Upon reviewing the menu, I decided on the hummus sampler and a half-salad. Soon after ordering our food arrived, the hummus plate looked and tasted amazing. It featured three types of hummus, fresh veggies and pita bread. My salad was wonderful as well. A small bowl filled with lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes with oil and vinegar for dressing. Everything was so fresh and yummy. I had to bring some leftovers home as I couldn't eat everything! Update: I decided to try the Beyond Burger for the first time and it was delicious and filling with a smoky flavor. I've been eating veggie burgers for about ten years but this is the first time I had a meatless burger that had the texture and look of real meat. Whether that's a good or bad thing depends on your preferences and diet, but I definitely enjoyed the burger and it certainly filled me up. The sweet potato fries are amazing. They're one of the reasons I keep coming back. As for dessert, I shared the "Apple Pie Nachos" with my mom, which tasted similar to an apple crisp mixed with the cinnamon flavor of churros. I found Seed Shack on Yelp and it sounded like I definitely needed to check it out, so my sister (who's vegan) and I (who's pescatarian) went there. I agree with other reviews, it's in a far off corner of some insane strip mall, with the smallest Frys I've ever seen, so it's very easy to miss. Once we got into the restaurant, we knew we found somewhere good. It's adorable, and the ladies that were working were so friendly and helpful. I got the pb&j Impossible burger, my sister got the rainbow tofu vermicelli. I also got an amazing Thai Iced coffee. The burger was amazing, the flavors were insane and the I'm still not convinced there's no meat in it. I love Beyond Burgers, but this was on a whole other level. My sister enjoyed the vermicelli, it was cooked nicely. We're definitely planning on returning to try more menu items! read more

Tried this restaurant today and it was quite good. We were the only patrons in the restaurant for a late lunch. I had the spaghetti with vegan balls. Very good. My friend had the chick peas tacos. Tasty! Even for someone who is NOT a vegan and typically doesn't even like vegan food. My husband really wanted to try this place and I acquiesced, seeing that I could eat at least the sweet potato fries. I had the Bacon (toasted rice paper) Mac & Cheese (cashew cream). It was delicious!! Totally still "junk food" on the spectrum, but hey -- at least I ate more than sweet potato fries. The sweet fries were okay, but a little too 'hard' (not super cooked) for me. Packed with plenty of fill and whatever spices they used made my tastebuds happy. The waitress was super, super nice and attentive and the place was clean. Definitely go on a payday since it seemed a bit over priced (~$10 for a beyond burger which I can get for half that price at BurgerFi down the street and even less at the actual store if I weren't so lazy & felt like cooking). This place is awesome! My husband and I are not vegetarian or vegan; we just enjoy trying different kinds of food. And this place was great - the food was delicious even for non-vegans! We got the beet burger and the rainbow tofu vermicelli. The tofu was deep fried to perfection, the noodles were really flavorful and had cabbage and carrot in it. The sweet potato fries were awesome - I highly recommend them. And the beet burger was very different, but very tasty as well with guacamole and hummus. Location, location, location ... not going to lie, this is a tough spot to find. The forgotten end of sea of never ending strip malls. Once you're inside you'll find the restaurant is tropical themed with a few tables along the wall, a few more in the middle, and a "specials" board along the wall. The food is all vegan and very, very tasty. The only reason I knocked off a star is that the french fries were a bit soggy. When I order fries, I want them to be super crispy. We tried the impossible burger as well as the tacos and it was all super tasty. I would say the burger was the big winner, not necessarily because of the burger itself, but the flavors that the chef mixed together were amazing ... peanut butter, jelly, other stuff, it was delicious. The service is great, the restaurant is small and you feel the love of the family that owns and runs it. Overall I would say it's worth a visit regardless of whether or not you're a vegan. I just wish it was a little closer to my home and that the prices were a smidgen less (certainly wouldn't' keep me from returning) read more
