We were headed out for an early dinner next door, and Deux Cranes was still open. Yes!! It's a very small chocolate boutique store. Everything is made in-house in small batches. They have very unique flavors and offerings. We were warmly greeted by the shop employee. She was very sweet and helpful. We were looking for something with dark chocolate. She showed us a few unique dark chocolate bars paired with unique flavors. One bar had miso-coated almonds in it, and the other had Earl Grey with Seri-Uchi lemon. We decided to get one of each. There were also two different flavors of fruit jellies. The raspberry one looked good. I'll have to go back and get that next time. The young lady helping us mentioned they have different flavors of the jellies every week. I love that. They also had beautiful boxes of chelates that were so beautifully decorated and had different fillings and flavors in them. These chocolates would make a nice and unique gift for any chocolate lover. Even though the inside of the store was small, they had a nice variety of chocolates, cookies, and jellies nicely displayed. I will definitely be back for the raspberry jellies. We tried both varieties that we purchased. We loved both of them. The miso almond dark chocolate bar has a savory and sweet flavor. It was delicious. The Earl Grey with Seri-Uchi lemon dark chocolate bar was slightly sweeter than the other one with a subtle citrus flavor. I would definitely buy these flavors again. They were both excellent.

I'd read on Yelp they have amazing chocolate so I knew I was in for a treat. The shop is small but elegant, with clean, minimalist displays. Their offerings include chocolate bars, bon bons, rocher, caramels, cookies, and more. I asked if they have my favorite, dark chocolate covered almonds, and was handed a large bar beautifully packaged in a dark green box. The box said the almonds were roasted with white miso, making it savory and umami-filled. I said I'd take it. I also purchased a small bag of dark chocolate crispy marshmallow rocher. The chocolate was, of course, delicious. I can't quite explain the taste of the almond bar, but it is the type of chocolate you eat a small piece of at a time in order to savor the flavor. (This is in contrast to my usual method of quickly gobbling it up). The rocher is a little bitter, but scrumptious with crispy puffed rice. Deux Cranes chocolates and confections would make the perfect gift or served as dessert after a special meal. I'm looking forward to patronizing the shop again in the future.

It was samples of their chocolate hazelnut which was delicious. The quality of the chocolate higher tier and you can taste it. You can also try samples of the other chocolates they have on display which is awesome. I tried their matcha dark and white chocolate fusion and it was so yummy. Perfect blend between the matcha and the chocolate flavors. You also can break the amount of chocolate that you want and it could even be as small as a sample size too. I believe the cost is by how much it weighs and the type of chocolate? I ended up getting the smaller pieces of the matcha chocolate and the hazelnut chocolate. It came out to be $11.47 for both the chocolates and I have attached a pic to show you. They nicely package it. I def recommend trying this place. The workers here are also very nice! I really appreciated how generous they were with samples, you can explore different flavors before deciding what to buy. I tried the hazelnut chocolate and loved it. They also had a wide variety to choose from, like Dubai chocolate, truffle milk, truffle caramel, and some nicely packaged gift sets with mixed flavors. Everything looked beautiful and tasted just as good. The quality really just... the best, and you can tell it's premium chocolate. You honestly can't go wrong here, whether to buy for yourself or choosing gift (and chocolate makes the best gifts). It's definitely a spot I'd come back to when I want to buy gifts for my family!

There is not any place to sit, unfortunately otherwise I would come much more often but that's probably a good thing for my waistline ;) Parking is a little bit tight. They also gave many varieties of hot beverages, sweet and savory scones and sweet and savory croissants. There are also a lot of different pastries. This would be a great place to have a small relaxing breakfast. There are several places inside to enjoy your goodies. Both desserts, that I purchased, were so delicious. My favorite was the lemon raspberry meringue tart. The tartness of the lemon-raspberry filling worked so perfectly with the delicious sweet meringue. I will definitely come here again to try other items.

I will be heading back soon to get some more and potentially more as gifts as well. We received great customer service from the girl working, she was patient and willing to answer all of our questions about the truffles. All I saw were some glitzy decorated truffles that did not match what I was looking for obviously. My husband is half French, and Fleur de Cocoa is one of his favorite French bakeries. Once we learned they offered croquembouches, we almost immediately decided to have one instead of a traditional wedding cake. Aline was wonderful to work with throughout the entire process. She was warm, responsive, and incredibly thoughtful: from the tasting and dessert selection, to reminding us to make sure our venue had enough refrigerator space, explaining how to transport and serve the croquembouche, and personally delivering it on our wedding day. Her attention to detail made everything so much easier. The desserts were absolutely delicious. Our guests loved both the croquembouche and the fruit tarts. They disappeared so quickly that I didn't even get to try every flavor! We actually went back to the bakery a few days after the wedding just to buy more. My previous go-to was a certain store located outside known for unique flavors that rotate every month. Unfortunately, their flavors have gotten a bit too crazy for me, and are oftentimes so sweet that it's hard to finish a single portion without sharing. At Venchi, I can easily eat a regular size by myself and feel so satisfied after. One thing to know before you go is that you pay first before you sample, so you'll need to commit to how many flavors and what size you want before sampling. I highly recommend upgrading to the freshly made waffle cone. There's a lot of other options like adding chocolate and other toppings to your cone, but that's completely up to you. As for the sampling, the people working there are very patient and generous, and will let you sample to your heart's content! If you have specific preferences (like you prefer less sweet or maybe even more sweet), they're happy to share their recommendations as well. My go to is pistachio and cremino, which is like a more hazelnutty version of nutella (and also less sweet than nutella). PS - make sure to sign up for their rewards program! They're running a promotion where you get a free mini bar of chocolate with a purchase of $20. After spending $40, you'll start getting 5% off future purchases.

Even though the line wasn't long, it did take awhile to order. The service here is a bit slow since there are less workers compared to other gelato spots. I got to sample a few different flavors and it was hard to choose just one. I ordered the small cup with chocolate inside w/piedmont hazelnut. It was so yummy. The texture of this gelato is more thick and it wasn't too sweet. The hazelnut flavor paired well with the chocolate inside. I would definitely come back again!
