The online order/pick up in-store is handy, especially for pre-packs and seasonal offerings (i. e., Easter goodies!) but nothing compares to standing in front of the counter and picking out your very own favorites for a custom pound or two! The staff is friendly and knowledgeable (although sometimes they're out of stock on my favorites) and a visit to this location is pleasant and a time-saver (during a holiday, order ahead for pick-up!). I've been a See's candy fan since I was a teenager. My top 3 favorites chocolates are: - Raspberry Cream - Dark Nougat - Rum Nougat (acquired taste) Something that most people don't know is that upon entering the facility, you can pick which chocolate you'd like to "sample," just ask. Once you are ready to order, you pay by weight. The chocolates are $16.50/lb but if you're doing some serious shopping then I'd suggest in picking up a couple of gift certificates from Costco to save some money. They are like cash so you can get a half pound of chocolate and a box of brittle etc. PS: I always recommend in packing your own box.. they have "order sheets" with pictures and descriptions of available chocolates. read more

This place is always packed!... maybe all See's Candy Shops are...what do I know? I am from New Jersey... Anyway, they always give you free samples...sometimes two if the wait is really long and the ladies that work there have been there forever and are pretty knowledgeable. They will wrap up your candy really nicely if it is a gift. Prices are very fair especially if you pick your own mix. The best part of course is that this is some of THE best chocolates you will ever taste... they use fresh ingredients and lots of them. If you like nuts like I do you will love it here... huge whole pieces of nuts and large chunks of fruits as well. The fudge is divine. read more

This particular location is special. The first thing that I noticed is that the staff is extremely welcoming and very cordial. I had the pleasure of meeting Natalie who completed my order with such kindness and a bubbly personality to match. She was so personable and eager to help. The manager is just as warm and friendly as was the rest of the staff. The shop is so nice inside - completely modernized and clean but still has that friendly old fashioned vibe. I called to ask Anita about the sugar free chocolate and she interrupted me to answer the question she thought I'd be asking. I tried to ask my question again and she did it again. It carried on for a while until finally I asked to be able to finish my sentence so that she could help me effectively. With irritation, she proceeded to explain what I was asking and I told her that wasn't what I was asking at all. And Her attitude only got WORSE from there. I'm completely shocked at the attitude she had from the moment she got on the phone until she rushed me off. So I'm taking my business elsewhere. Her attitude was completely unacceptable and came as a complete surprise, especially considering the location. Her attitude was totally uncalled for as I was kind and respectful from beginning to end. I'm buying chocolate for someone on their death and you ruined the experience. I won't be coming back. This is my second time coming to this location. First time I experienced Rosa (I think that is her name, the manager) and Anita. I'm a seasonal employee and wanted to purchase some candy for my children. With a new employee discount in place I was the first employee they had both taken care of. They were both super nice and kept apologizing because it was their first time processing an employee discount (again something newly implemented). I went in tonight and had the opportunity to experience Anita again. She is super attentive and sweet. The chocolate is rich without being too sweet and the ingredients they use are fresh. We all know this. Milk patties, and scotch mellows are my go-to but I happily try all whenever anyone brings us an assorted box (which is about once a month) 5 stars for this specific location. The lady (dark hair and glasses) I wish I had gotten her name, is the most helpful and efficient See's worker I've even had help me. Just avoid all face to face shopping during a Pandemic...thats my advice!! Everyone is so rude everywhere & that includes See's Candies...where the old ladies that work there are usually as sweet as the chocolate. I was just picking up an order I placed on DoorDash. As I opened the door, I was shot down real quick..."ONLY TWO PEOPLE AT A TIME MAAM!!!" Okay then, so I wait outside. The 2-3 people in there were taking a rather long time to make their purchase, no problem, I shall be patient - I have no rush. Once inside - the ladies looked so busy with only two customers - no friendly greeting or anything (long day I guess). I saw a bag on the front & simply asked, "If I placed an order for pick up-who do I ask? That may be my order!!" Thats when I was told, again abruptly & rudely... "YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME!!" I was so confused as to what I was doing...I asked didn't I?!! So at that point I got upset, & I said, "Your comment and tone is so rude" & I left. I shall continue to get things delivered instead of interacting with people so I dont have to boycott going to places, such as See's. You are on my list of places to NOT shop at anymore!! The staff are super, duper and I mean SUPER DUPER friendly! You walk in the store, they greet you with open arms and give you samples of chocolates (maybe even more) the line goes by quick. It's not that busy but only holidays it is. I went on Valentines Day and it was packed but didn't worry about it, since they worked really fast in putting your order in. Sometimes See's offer coupons online and you can use that for more savings on your purchase. Just head to their website (sees.com) and sign up for free, so you can get emails with promotions and offers in the future. Love ALL of the chocolates - my fave is the Chelsea's. Go in, say hi, even if you're not buying anything, you'll walk out with a free sample of chocolate. Can't beat that. read more

This is a great store, especially around the holidays! There is so much variety to choose from and you get so many samples while shopping here too! I went in for some Christmas gifts and even though it was packed I was still greeted and asked more than once if I needed help. I would highly recommend the toffee bits. See's Chocolates are everywhere, and the quality is usually the same no matter where you go. However, this store is the one I prefer--mainly due to the service. Anyone who visit See's knows how crazy busy See's can get at certain times of the year. However, the service here is always friendly and with a smile. I like See's and Godiva both. I've found that many prefer See's--I think this is primarily due to the more classic flavors See's offers; it is also less rich (both in taste and prices) than Godiva. My favorite chocolates at See's include: almond square, almond bud, Scotchmallow, caramel, milk pattie, dark pattie, and the butterscotch chew. read more

See's Candies never fails! Every time I receive a box of their truffles, it reminds me of what good chocolate is supposed to taste like. Unlike Godiva and various other chocolate shops, See's uses only the freshest ingredients and they do not use preservatives. You know that waxy coating you find on Godiva truffles? Yeah, See's doesn't use that artificial crap. I have been coming to this location for many years and I always receive great service. The women are so friendly and they offer each customer a complimentary truffle! The shop is adorable and always looks clean. As for candy recommendations? I suggest you choose a box of hand-picked truffles. They are so creamy and delicious! You can taste the made-from-scratch goodness. Their toffee-ettes and peanut brittle are also scrumptious. Just a few things to consider; it gets super busy around the holidays and the shop is really small, so I would suggest buying a few days early. However, because their chocolate contains no preservatives, it goes stale fairly quickly. Don't buy hand-picked truffles more than three days before gifting them. As for their pre-packed items, those will stay fresh for months. The prices are a little high, but you have to pay more for quality. Also, if you're a connoisseur of fine chocolate such as Callebaut and Valrhona, See's is probably not for you. The chocolate is very good, it's just not top shelf. read more

The candy is always awesome! The location is awful. The store is too small. I don't know what they were thinking when they moved to this smaller space in the Manhattan Village. The way it is set up you have to wait in a long line just to purchase one box of candy. That means behind the people that are hand picking each piece. Then other people come in and cut you off in line. The cashiers are so confused as to who was first. I try to avoid this location now and drive out of my way to a better location. read more

When I was a little girl, it was always so exciting when my grandparents gave us special Easter candy from See's, or when as a special treat, my mother would bring us into the shop and let us choose a lollipop. The peanut butter was my favorite, but, alas, it was discontinued in recent years, never to return, because of those with nut allergies, or so I have been told. Other than that, few things about See's have changed over the years, and that is a wonderful thing. The experience at See's is always excellent, as is the quality of the chocolate. There is always an incredible selection of flavors and varieties to tempt every palate, and always extremely friendly, helpful employees ready to generously offer you a sample, with great hospitality. You are able to individually select each chocolate to fill a box, or buy prepackaged boxes. Prices are reasonable, especially considering the vast variety available. I walked in and told Jessika that I wanted 1 lb of chocolate in 1/2 lb boxes and I had a 1 lb gift certificate. She made it seem like taking my order was too much effort. When I went to pay she told me I owed more than the gift certificate because I had more than a pound. She seemed to have a hard time understanding that I only wanted 1 lb. I didn't experience the best service like I have had at some of the other See's locations when I recently made a visit here to pick up a few gifts for the office. First of all, what the heck is wrong with their service? Just one clerk working when it was fairly busy midday during the weekday? Yes, I understand that business might be slow, but that doesn't mean they should only have one cashier working. It took me 18 minutes to get in and out...something I don't accept at all.
