After receiving a very friendly greeting, I wasted no time in asking about said cookie, and by golly, they had it. A different brand, different shape, but the same delicacy. Go straight to the refrigerator section to pick up a package of Almond Fingers. Irresistable. Finding this was way too easy, so I figured I needed to browse some more. The store clerk escorted me around, telling me about their products and answering all my many questions. She pointed out another favorite Dutch cookie, a crisp cookie great for dunking, shaped like a windmill. This is loaded with a wonderful blend of "Christmas" (my words, not hers) spices, and not too sweet. In case you are wondering, a small package landed in my shopping bag, too. And once home, it passed my taste test with 10/10 stars. In spite of being small, the store also carries a delightful inventory of canned and packaged goods and even some cute, Dutch knick knacks, like blue and white ceramic spoon holders and salt & pepper sets. Went there to find jelly beans…read more As of late have had a sweet tooth for jelly beans. Not necessarily Jelly Belly. Just jelly beans. After looking the store over, they didn't have any. Jelly beans I think are a staple candy to have in any "Candy Store." Staff was pleasant and ultimately purchased some Dubai chocolate to try. It was very good. She greets you as soon as you walk into the store and fills up your bottles for you. She also places them on a cart for you to be able to easily take them to your car. The store is nice and clean and there are plenty of things for sale inside: snacks, ice cream, drinks, and other merchandise. It's only $2 to fill up a 5 gallon jug and the water tastes great! I got four types - green paint ball, buttered popcorn jelly belly, cherry strips, and blue raspberry strips. THEY ARE ALL STALE, some so stale they're inedible. She squandered all the goodwill that others had worked so hard to build over the years. There will no longer be chocolate lollipops on Halloween for the neighborhood kids. There will no longer be a local business filling my family's Christmas fudge order. The once-bright shop is now a dark and dreary place. Most of the candy jars are empty. The shelves are barren.
