What a great little gem! The outside of the restaurant looked unassuming but it was a cute, friendly place inside. We went for a late lunch on Friday and we got the undivided attention of the staff. They had BlackPink music videos on full blast which was entertaining while we waited for our food (wish they would keep it lower for people who want to chit chat). Food wise we ordered their ramen combo (we had spicy tonkotsu level 2 + fried rice), sashimi appetizer and Seido roll. The spicy broth was creamy, flavorful, and good spicy for us (I was happy as the person who could do spicier than my hubby, he felt the challenge with the heat but still enjoyed it a lot he just ate less). Plenty of Japanese/sushi restaurants around the area of Glendale, AZ. We wanted to try a new local business around here and chose this place after seeing how recent it was. The place itself is within a big plaza of other stores so plenty of parking. The entrance is a solid red door without windows (so yes, proceed to enter). Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by a waitress and a chef behind the sushi bar. It was somewhat empty when we arrived, so we had the choice to sit anywhere we wanted. Menu-wise, their sushi is well-varied, even with a roll representing every U.S. state. Most people will find something they like. For me, I wanted to taste a variety of their menu and so got the dinner combination to share. It was massive on arrival: gyoza, tempura vegetables and shrimp, choice of a teriyaki meat, sashimi, nigiri, and a california roll! Everything tasted great, especially the sashimi and tempura. My other party member got the yakisoba, which tasted decent but somewhat on the saltier side. At the end of the meal, the business owner handed us a 10% off coupon for the next visit. This is not the place that was here before, and FAR surpasses it. Newer owners. I can't tell you how fresh everything was, from the shashimi, to the ginger, to the homemade wasabi. The issue with the visit was the fact that they REALLY want to leave at 1030. Not close, leave. So the real closing time is 930, not 1030. My service tonight was so unpleasant. I took my daughter for first time and the waitress was so unprofessional and make me feel like i was rushing her. I wait 35 minutes patiently for my daughter's meal( literally just chicken and rice) and when finaly got it, they give her teriyaki chicken( wasen't the right one? INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED!! I have been getting sushi here since moving close by 5 years ago. They recently jacked up the prices and lowered quantity/ quality A LOT. A tiny squirt of eel sauce is now $2.00. I usually get 3 extra sauces. Went today ordered usual and they charged me $6 for tiny cups of sauce not even full!!! Rolls that were $5 are now $7, my favorite was raised from $12 to $15.50. I WILL be finding a new sushi place... super disappointed!! I checked out Seido Sushi on a weekday around 5 or so. It wasn't too busy at this time so our food came out really fast! We were greeted immediately as we walked in and had a great waitress. Our food was not only delicious but also had a lovely presentation. I always like to order the tempura veggies at Japanese restaurants but hate when they come out too greasy, this was not a problem at all at Seido Sushi because they were just perfect. Our rolls were a nice size and dessert (tempura cheesecake, my favorite) was great! No complaints here, definitely going back again soon. read more

I must say I had miso soup at other restaurants that were too salty or bitter, but Seido Sushi's miso soup was perfect. My mom ordered the sushi special and enjoyed every bite! I had the beef lunch box which came with tempura vegetables, salad, california rolls, thin sliced beef and rice. Again, at some restaurants I've ate at in the past, the tempura would be too oily and here it was amazingly crispy. I loved how flavorful the beef and salad were, too. Having one of the best vibes I've seen in a sushi joint in the valley, the Seido Sushi's sushi did not disappoint! I would however veer away from, what would be an otherwise safe choice, fried rice. The rice tasted as if it had been bathed in butter to a very distracting degree. With that being said everything else outside of the sushi was amazing. Always driven by it and wondered if it would be good..... and it is! Pretty chill place, ordered sushi & fried calamari. We ordered three state rolls: Arizona, Michigan and Wyoming. The Arizona one is just a tad spicy (I am a fan of anything spicy so that's good for me) but not too crazy. The other two rolls were really good as well, the Wyoming roll is basically the rainbow roll which is good. The sushi was 7.5/10 - the fried calamari was good too, I'd say an 8/10. Today was my second visit to this place, and it was a terrible experience. As soon as I sat down, the owner or the head sushi chef recognize me from my previous yelp review. My first review was not all that bad, but this unprofessional man decided to have an aggressive/passive attitude towards me. He was very friendly to my face, but all that changed when I ordered my food. I ordered the Sashimi Salad, and waited patiently for my food. By this time, I should have gotten my banchan (side dishes) which is basic in all Korean restaurants. The banchan never came. When my food came out, it was so disappointing. The sashimi salad is suppose to have a good ratio between the rice, sashimi, and veggies. My bowl was FULL of spring mix and cucumbers, and had very little sashimi. I couldn't even find the rice and the sashimi, because it was buried underneath all the veggies. On top of that, the only type of fish I got was salmon. Usually, its a mixture of salmon, tuna, striped bass, and/or yellowtail. I don't know what game this Korean man is playing, but it is very unprofessional. If you have an issue with my review, then tell it to my face rather than hiding behind a façade. read more

I wouldn't recommend this place. They've changed their name 3 times. And specifically For sushi at least. I've gone to many other locations where the service is prompt and the sushi is FRESH and great. Their prices are the same as any other sushi joint but their sushi is low-par. It tastes stale, like the ones you buy in a grocery store. I've gone here 3 times and it's all the same. I'd rather go somewhere else.
