Ordered food at 6:45 was told it would be ready in 20 minutes and it's now 7:53 as I'm writing this review without any food....their excuse is sorry there is one cook and they needed to make more queso...doesn't seem like there is any management to be found since the server was the one to tell me about the queso. You'd think after someone has waited over an hour for a 4 person Togo order that they would do SOMETHING. We were driving through on a cross country trip and trusted Yelp to find a good lunch spot. I'm so glad we did. Wow! This place is delicious. My husband doesn't care too much about food and he is still raving about his burrito like an Elite Yelper 30 miles later. He said it's the best burrito he's ever had, and we live in San Diego so that's a bold statement. He got the steak and said it was so tender and perfectly seasoned. I got the taco platter with one chicken and one avocado and my only issue was I should have gotten one more! The chicken was moist and delicious and that fried avocado. Omg. Unbelievable. Perfectly fried and that sauce...love love loved it. Even the chips were great. We ordered some homemade churros that were also amazing. Staff was so friendly. First time ever at a Seis Kitchen Enchiladas- barely Luke warm. Ordered one chicken two cheese. Cheese was melted at some point but not warm and soft upon plate delivery. Smashed beans were good in flavor but again like warm and actually cheese was not melted. Loved the chips n guac though The cost is a bit costly for the quality. Could give or take the restaurant. I had the fish tacos and the fish was so fresh and delicious . Also found out that the fish was sustainably sourced . I got to meet the owners and they are just lovely people !! The Seis Margarita would be on my top 10 Margaritas in Tucson. I'm not sure where it ranks but it's in the top 3. I enjoy basic margaritas with a Tajin rim. If you can do that right, you've made it. I'm sure the happy hour people don't mind the less-than-fresh food. i just expected better. Loved the grilled fish tacos, large piece of fish, nice blackened seasoning with a moderate kick, thick tortillas, and slaw with crema. Also had a shrimp taco which had a nice flavor but the shrimp could have been cooked a minute less. The side of black beans and the roasted green chili salsa was excellent and it was nice to have fresh limes. The watermelon cucumber Agua fresca was refreshing and not too sweet. The restaurant was pleasant inside. You have to order at counter, the arrogance, (where they want you to tip upfront, minus star for that). They charge for chips and salsa, score is hurting. The place was fairly busy, mostly an older get, (probably for the bland food). Chicken taquitos were tater flavorless with what seemed like mashed chicken meat. The steak adobo was okay but didn't care for the shrimp, (I love "good" seafood. Check this one off our list, we won't return. For the price, we'll go Nextdoor to Sullivan's Steakhouse and get good food. read more

Probably the most unnecessarily complicated system I've ever seen at a restaurant. Some tables are full service, some for counter service, but waitstaff still deliver your food after standing in a rather long line to order. Seis is a solid casual place to get your taco fix + more. Even though you order up front and the food is brought to you, there is still good service and they make sure you have everything you need. The food is speedy and delicious. I've had several of the tacos but since going more veg, the calabacitas and fried avocado tacos (no mayo) are now my favorite. You can order a taco plate with three tacos and a salsa and side. I find that to be a little too much, so I usually get 2 tacos a la carte and an order of chips and salsa to share. The calabacitas are soft and well seasoned. The fried avocado was surprisingly delicious and creamy. Would def get this winning combo again. My only complaint was that the chips were a bit stale and without that satisfying snap. The drinks are great. Try the house margarita and the Bloody Mary. Both compliment the tacos perfectly. The house margarita is also on their happy hour menu if you make it on time (3-6pm M-F). I will be back, Seis! read more

Came here for lunch on the recommendation of one of my colleagues. Ordered the poc choc burrito with smashed beans. Took a while for the burrito to come out, about 20 minutes. Was pleasantly surprised with the size of the burrito. The poc choc is delightfully salty, savory and tangy from the marinade. Smashed beans, rice, guacamole and slaw help to round out the filling and flavor. Tortilla chips were crunchy and well seasoned. Mild green salsa is sweet and acidic whereas the the hot red salsa had a smokier flavor with more spice. read more

Seis Kitchen Hates Their Customers. There can be no other explanation why they continue to change their menu and remove the best items. First, they dropped the torta from the menu a couple years back. Now they have inexplicably removed their "Mexico City" Quesadillas from the menu. I won't be returning until they bring back the old menu items. I simply can't be setting myself up for future disappointment anymore. I'll take my business elsewhere. read more

I came here with my family. We all agreed it was delicious (and my mom heart was happy that it was also very healthy). I don't eat flour or cheese and the guy at the cash register was super helpful with his recommendations and altering one of the dishes for me so I could eat it. It was tasty and fresh tasting. I SEIS this is an outstanding place to eat for lunch and dinner! A great list of tacos, tortas and various e trees to choose from. Lunch special oaks during weekdays are a bargain at $8 for one taco and $10 for two , all cones with your choice of side dish and a drink. We always take a look at the board to see daily specials which usually have fresh fish offered! Very nice! As an Aqua Fresca addict, I personally love prickly pear , Horacha and strawberry- lime! Just the proper amount of sweetness packed with great flavors. This time, we ordered the "fresh cod" taco and the fresh grilled shrimp platters on their special board, Al Pastor tacos, chicken tinga plate. The fish came out hot and was really fresh! Amazing! As for grilled shrimp, we liked it wasn't battered and fried as many restaurants tend to do. Each shrimp was cooked properly, juicy and not dried out. Yummy! The Cochata (coffee Horchata) mix is good but the show stealer was the pumpkin horchata. If your a pumpkin lover go get the pumpkin horchata it's like pumpkin pie in a glass! Expensive gamble, not worth taking. Being conveniently located along my commute I have gone to Seis often but cant actually recommend it. The quality can be great or inedible on any given day, egg shells in burritos, shorted food, frescas too thick to even drink, and wrong orders galore. If they charged a normal price it may still be worth trying if your in the area but when its at minimum twice as much as comparable places in the neighborhood it becomes hard to justify. read more

I love this place! Great food and the ambiance is modern and chic. I like that there's an outdoor patio too for those warm nights. You order first and then they ask where you'd like to sit; then they find a table number around the area to delegate to our order and the servers bring out your food later. I've been to the other location at the Mercado and both have been a delight to dine at. The food has been delicious and consistent. I ordered the 3 taco platter, chicken taquitos and the carnitas burrito. I was pleasantly surprised when they allowed me to mix and match the taco meats for the platter, because the Mercado location seemed to only allow 1 type of taco for the whole platter. The best meat is the Al pastor (5/5). GET THIS. We also ordered the other pork option (forgot the name, maybe Cochinita pobil?) and that was ok (4/5). I enjoyed the chicken taquitos (4/5), which were very big and filling. They did not skimp on the guac and cheese on top - yay! The taquitos were less flavorful than I'd like, but honestly, 5 large taquitos for $8 is a great deal. I don't get to try the carnitas burrito but my boyfriend seemed to enjoy it. I'm loving the Mexican food here in Tucson, and Seis Kitchen really stands out as a upscale Mexican cuisine establishment with affordable prices. read more

I have gone to the location on River as well as Broadway. Both was amazing in service and in quality of food. Each time I leave happy and full. The tacos are delicious, so are the nachos and quesadilla. They even had live music one night at the Broadway location, and it was just amaze balls! This place was packed on a Sunday - for a pickup order I waited 20 minutes in line and then another 40 minutes for the food to be prepared. In the end I'd say it was worth it. I got 2 chicken tinga tacos, a poc chuc (marinated grilled chicken thigh), and a birria taco, along with a horchata. Everything was fantastic though my favorite was the poc chuc by far - the grilled chicken was so tender and juicy with every bite. The salsas were flavorful and the horchata was well balanced between sweetness, rice, and cinnamon notes. 4 stars because the taco shells did not hold up well (seems like store bought quality), and the tacos are a bit more expensive than comparable options in the area. read more

Came here on a recommendation, and specifically this location since people were saying the other location is outdoor seating only. I guess we came after the major dinner rush when we arrived around 7:30. We were able to order quickly, and find a seat. Their menu is fairly extensive. I definitely wanted to try a lot of things, but settled for street tacos. I ordered the all pastor and steak tacos, and also ordered the poc chuc taco platter, which was great since it came with three tacos, as well as a side of your choosing, and we chose black beans. They were also fairly accommodating for dietary restrictions, specifically excluding dairy such as cheese or sour cream. Since it wasn't super busy, our food came out in a timely manner. I really like the setup with the quick, fast casual vibe. The taco platter was with the poc chuc chicken which was excellent. I got the al pastor and steak tacos, which were also quite excellent. I feel like if you're hungry, the platter is definitely the better choice since you get the side as well. The tacos were very loaded however, and or enough for since I wasn't too hungry. Reasonable pricing, good service, and delicious food. Would come again if I'm in the area in the future. Solid 4-4.5 stars. read more
