TL;dr Selecta Auto Shop is 10/10 My parents live directly across from 3 schools, so there is always a lot of traffic at our house. Their Lexus is always parked on the street getting hit by terrible SF drivers. Farmers insurance informed us of Selecta Auto Body, and to be honest, we have had subpar service from other places so wasn't expecting much. Gene, Anthony, and the rest of the team was nothing short of spectacular and dealt with the whole situation with haste and professionalism. My parents don't really speak English, so the team called me with updates as I was working( a total of 7 calls!) This is rare because for these shops the customer is usually the one initiating for updates, or even if the shop does call, the customer is still left somewhat confused. The Lexus looks like it's brand new off the lot, and my parents are extremely satisfied. Will be coming here from now on! Highly recommended. I never write reviews but this outstanding act deserves to be known. You are dealing with an auto body shop (arguably the best in SF.), that not only is highly efficient and fair, but this auto body shop did something for me that still has my mind blown. I called in asking about an estimate for some cosmetic damage to my front fender. I had backed out of a garage spot and missed that a pole was sitting right there. It had detached my fender from the car and gave it a couple scrapes. I am getting ready to sell this car so I was just checking how much it would cost to repair and wether it would be worth spending the money to do it or not. I got back a fair estimate but it was more than I wanted to put back into the car so I asked if they could tell me how much just to reattach the fender. I was not sure if it could just be snapped in or if it needed new parts etc. They said come here tomorrow at 10 and they will reattach it for you. I asked how much it would cost for this service. The girl texts back "oh, it won't cost you anything. It should only take 5-10 minutes to do". I was flabbergasted! This amazing auto body shop reattached my fender for free for me. Not only that but they removed the paint scuffs from the pole itself. Who even does that these days!? It was above and beyond what a business does or even would think to do in these times. Had a bumper cover replaced by Selecta. Everything about my experience with them was great. Set up a visit to get an estimate easily. Estimate took 15 minutes . Ended up deciding to get the cover replaced rather than repaired. The cover looks perfect (selecta had to paint the bumper cover delivered from the automaker). It took as long as they said it would and not longer. They communicated everything very clearly and everyone i interacted was friendly and professional. I gotta say these guys take pride in their work and go above and beyond. I brought in my Honda Civic for a repair after an accident. There was damage to the hood, bumper, and possibly some structural damage as well. They fixed my car in a timely manner, and did a ton more as well. Gene and Anthony kept me in the loop with communication via phone (though I sometimes didn't pick up the phone -- I was at work). The car was ready and waiting in the front when I came to pick it up. I was honestly shocked at how well they had fixed up the car. Not only did they repair the structural damage, the bumper, and the hood, but they completely detailed the entire car. The interior was spotless -- looks like they vacuumed and cleaned every last bit from the seats to the floor mats. All my miscellaneous items that were scattered about were put up front where I could see them. They washed and detailed the car. There was some difficult to remove rail dust on the paint, they removed that too. The tires were scrubbed clean and coated with a high gloss shine. There was some damage to my rims and they even helped with that! I'm almost certain that there were more things that they had fixed up that I've yet to notice. As for the actual repair itself, it was stellar. They matched the paint from the bumper to the car itself perfectly. The car looks like it was never in an accident and honestly looks far better than it did before the accident. They even let me come in a shade late to pick up the car and were courteous, prompt, and professional the whole time. Let's be real...no one really wants to go to an auto body place. Usually it means that you have been in an accident and your car is messed up in some way. It's usually expensive and annoying and takes forever. Not at Selecta Auto Body. I was rear-ended at a stop light and the Volvo was in bad shape, y'all. Selecta is right around the corner from my apartment and the insurance company recommended them. I went in, they did an examination of the damage. They provided me with an estimate and ordered the parts. We made an appointment for me to drop off my car when the parts came in. Dropped off the car and they had called the rental company ahead of time so they were waiting for me. JR and his team kept me informed every step of the way. Texts, emails, phone calls. The damage was worse than expected and they updated me. Clean shop, great people, cute dogs, insanely good customer service. It doesn't get better. read more

Fantastic experience with Selecta. My new car was recently the victim of a hit & run incident in the mission, taking out the side mirror, and damaging the fender, bumper, and door. Went with Selecta because they are a preferred body shop of my insurance (Farmers), and because their reviews were so good. Worked with Andy, who was friendly and super helpful from beginning to end. He called me regularly with updates to let me know when my car would be ready. The car ended up taking only 3 working days (and 1 weekend) to fix. The Selecta team was also accommodating when I explained to them that I needed to get my car into the shop earlier than my scheduled appointment because the insurance wouldn't pay for my rental for the weekend otherwise. They have a great relationship with the rental company too, so that transaction was quick and painless as well. I can't speak for the prices Selecta offers, as my insurance covered that (minus the deductible) but the work they did appears to be really top notch. They even washed and cleaned my car before handing it back over. Overall, couldn't recommend Selecta enough. Hopefully I won't need more body work, but if I do, Selecta will be my first pick. read more

I give Selecta Auto Body Repair 5 stars. We have had to have two cars repaired due to hit and runs while parked on the streets in San Francisco. First was our Honda ridgeline that someone sideswiped and had to have the whole driver side repaired. our other vehicle which we just bought in April of this year when a cement truck sideswiped the driverside rear (thankfully they left their information) which was repaired by Selecta and looks brand new. then 2 weeks ago someone swiped the front fender bumper and wheel causing minor damage but put the front end out of alignment, (bummer they did not leave any information) Selecta did a wonderful job of repairing the damage they even had the custom wheel repaired of the scratch and we had a small scratch on the front bumper they threw in the paint on that. Run from this place! Selecta was given a great running car and returned it with a dead battery! Had a terrible and exasperating experience with Jeremy and Selecta. Honda was running great when it was brought it to Selecta for a rear end bumper replacement. One + week later picked up the car, drove it home and won't restart! AAA jumps it and says bring it to Honda as it was a fairly new OEM battery (100 month guarantee) with 73 months remaining. HONDA LETTER STATES SELECTA WAS NEGLIGENT and left battery on during the week + they were repairing it. (Open car door etc) Selecta/Jeremy says that's not their fault and refused to take responsibility. Honda said that's the only reason the battery went bad. Selecta said they will not pay for a better battery ($215) even though they were offered the replacement cost battery ($109). Either way it doesn't matter since they refuse to take responsibility for shoddy work and neglected to either disconnect the battery while in their custody or leaving it on. They were asked how they can justify this when the car was running great when they received it but died after they returned it. They said it's a bad battery (which was never disputed and was confirmed by Honda). The dispute is what caused it to go bad? The week + it was in their custody while doing body work? Or after returning to owner and parked in their garage? Running great then returned dead? Draw your own conclusions. Honda's email clearly states it was due to Selecta's negligence read more

Someone made an illegal u-turn across a double yellow and t-boned the front driver's side part of my car. My car was towed to this place and from there, it was easy as pie. Took care of all the insurance mumbo jumbo and got my car back in less than 2 weeks(I have State Farm). Selecta has helped me out numerous times. Today I am getting assistance with putting in a window motor and switch. After an accident that happened when my car was parked 3 years ago I have had ongoing issues and bugs with my 2015 Legacy Subaru. They helped me with my autobody work through insurance and did a fantastic job and even when I had an issue with a broken sensor they took care of it after the fact. They most recently helped me with an install of a new driver side window switch and motor after Subaru refused to take any responsibility with the problem even though it was only 2 months outside of warranty. REVIEWER # 120 Alright, Y'all! Its official, Blueberry is DEAD! Yup, you heard me right, my baby is gone (emoji: sad face). She passed away February 2nd, 2018 and it was the hardest decision I had to do this year but I didn't want my baby to suffer anymore. My baby was my ride or die, my soldier, she really took some hard hits (literally) AND...she made it to 120,000 miles! (Told you she was a soldier!) OK - if it were possible, I'd go with 6 stars!!! Seriously, this type of customer service is RARE to find - start to finish - here was scoop.... - Had a small run in with my garage (tight fit) and scraped my front bumper of my car entering - it looked kinda bad at first - especially on a black car. Needed to figure out how to get it fixed (rest of car is pristine) - Was recommended Selecta via Advanced Autowerks (my mechanic - Zach btw - THANK YOU!!) - Called and spoke to Anthony - he suggested I email a few photos in to him, did so. This was on a Friday. We spoke, he suggested I come in and see if we could just polish the marks away - very nice, very thorough explanation and was trying to minimize cost - very much appreciated. We set up an appointment to go in on monday @ 8AM - Arrive Monday - meet with Anthony - he looked at car and said to give him a few minutes (literally) - walked outside to finish a call and no less than 5min later he says to come back in and look - IT WAS ALL GONE - seriously, I was amazed - I was figuring $1K to get this fixed and a day or so, but Anthony just polished it out in under 5min - and at NO CHARGE!! Who does that????? I was speechless - what an amazing way to start a Monday!! Anthony and team there were so helpful and so on the spot that I can't imagine EVER going anywhere else!! I would given this place more stars if possible. This business is the gold standard of service, quality, and customer service. I have taken my car here twice. The whole team is knowledgeable and friendly. Two specific examples. The first time I needed work, they planned to be done when I was on vacation. One of the team members lived near my house and offered to drop the car in the garage so it would be waiting when we returned. The second time I needed work, there was a sensor that wasn't right. Wow, this shop is top notch with the most amazing customer service and communication I have experienced in any industry. I got in an accident and the insurance co said I could choose which body shop I went to. I live in the neighborhood and had called the shop 6 months earlier with a question and they gave me some great advise, even though I was not a client, so I decided to choose them to do the repairs on my car post accident. I opted for text updates, and every day they would let me know what was going on with my car. The team is extremely detail oriented and checked in on error lights and even took my car to another shop to get a warning light fixed that couldn't be addressed in their shop. I'm only commenting on the service and quality of work. My insurance covered most of the cost minus the deductible. Andy and team did an awesome job fixing my bumper. He explained everything, communicated all the details, was very clear on timing, cost and the overall process. The shop is clean and organized, something I value as a guy who loves his car. I was confident they'd take care of my car the way I do. They also work with Hertz. A Hertz agent picked me up from the shop and also dropped me off when my car was ready. Super convenient! They had to remove two doors and the windows to do the repairs. They also did a few light scratches with the left over paint. I got two quotes and the other body shop charged me for 95 hours of work while Selecta charged me for 58 hours of work, I saved 37% on the cost of repairs by using Selecta. Had some bodywork that I needed done, and since it was 100% the other driver's fault, I had my choice of body shops. I remember seeing JR and his crew's work on Euge's car quite a few years ago, so I wanted to give them a shot. Made an appointment, brought the car in, and received nothing but pro service. They were super helpful and explicit in what I should expect in the process, and how they would work with they payor's insurance. A few days later, all the work was complete, and I was definitely happy with the result. Often times, even the best body shops require a little push to make sure that all the gaps are perfect, and that the finish on the paint is spot on. If you're eye's trained for it, you can see where work has been done. At Selecta, however, my car looked like it was brand new again. You really can't ask for much else from a body shop. Funnily enough, when I went to pick up the car, JR said "wait, a minute, don't I know you? You were a judge at Euge's chicken contest, right?" I never mentioned anything of the past to JR, but the guy still remembered me from the one time I met him seven years ago. It's then when I realized what makes JR and Selecta so good, he's a guy that understands that his business is more than just "you give me your money and I'll provide you with a service," He's not just out there to profit, but to be a part of and benefit the community. read more
