I Cannot say enough good things about this restaurant!! It literally feels like you're eating at your grandma's house. The food was so good!! I got the country fried steak with white gravy and fried okra and green beans. My bf got the fried catfish with fried okra and fried squash. The waitress was very polite and attentive to our table. Highly recommend this place.

We went for breakfast and the food was good. Traditional breakfast options. Service was lacking today. It took a little bit for our server to come over and when she did there was little eye contact as if she was preoccupied. That is a pet peeve of mine. When you are serving me and my party please give us your attention so you get the order correct. Anyway, apparently someone had called out so the cook was the cashier and also had to manage the drive through. In my opinion, the wait staff could have assisted in this area because a standard breakfast order took nearly 30 minutes to be made and brought out. Did I mention that they were not that busy in the dining room area? If I go again I will update my review. If the service is the same or worse you can expect the rating to drop.

I have to agree with the review that said a no frills restaurant that serves Southern comfort food. Breakfast is served until 10:45. They have a daily lunch special. You can order a big meal with a meat and a choice of two or three vegetables or choose from an assortment of sandwiches on the menu. The hubby ordered Turkey and dressing, pickled beets, a roll, and banana pudding. He said the beets were delicious. He felt there was lots of Turkey but not as much dressing. I had Hamburger steak with gravy and onions, mashed potatoes with gravy, butter beans, fried okra and roll. I also had a side of hush puppies. The hush puppies and butter beans were yummy. The portions were generous. My meal was good, but I was disappointed with the instant mashed potatoes. The service was good. Prices were reasonable and if you are looking for a Southern diner that serves meals your grandma served you will like this.

Food is what you expect, but I did not know this business is a "trump supporter". I'll never go there again, not another dime!!! Sad.

The employee at the window couldn't have been nicer, very friendly, helpful, and even offered me a menu to keep for future visits. Truly excellent customer service. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (lettuce and tomato only (no premium topping options available), along with onion rings and coleslaw. The total came to $13.08 before tip, which is a great price and initially set expectations fairly high. The wait time was reasonable, but when I received the bag it felt surprisingly light. Once home, the portion sizes were underwhelming. The onion rings were moderate, the coleslaw was about an ice-cream-scoop portion, and the grilled chicken sandwich consisted of a very small piece of chicken with one slice of lettuce and a thin slice of tomato on a plain white bun. For context, I weighed the chicken portion and it came in at 2.68 ounces, which is noticeably smaller than expected for a sandwich. Food quality was basic. The coleslaw appeared pre-packaged and was quite watery, and the onion rings seemed mass-produced rather than freshly battered. The chicken itself could have used more seasoning and a more substantial portion. Even a slightly upgraded bun would have helped. I'm giving this two stars instead of three because while the service was outstanding and the pricing is attractive, this is a restaurant first and foremost, and the food quality and portions didn't meet expectations. I'm not trying to bash ownership; a small increase in price to allow for better ingredients and slightly larger portions could make a big difference.

This is a sandwich and salad lunch place, and there were several plausible options for vegetarians and vegans. My order came with a side and I added a cookie. Ice cups were out for a self-serve collection of tea (sweet or unsweet), lemonade, and water at no extra charge. My mushroom-heavy toasted sandwich delivered on flavor, with a rosemary olive oil bread contrasting the massive amount of mushrooms and a zippy romesco inside. For a side, I received a garlicky hummus with pita. My cookie was a slightly odd texture, but it did round out the experience and keep me full for an outdoor day. It was quick, easy, had options for most diets, was a nice place to eat, and on top of that I got out for a price I couldn't believe. To be fair, if I weren't in middle of nowhere South Carolina I'm sure there's no way I get that meal for under $20 at current rates, but I had no problem stopping here on the way to the mountains, and I doubt there was any better lunch option for a long way in any direction.
