Burrito with steak, rice, lettuce, sour cream, and cheese (not much)
    Greg B.

I was leaving the Walgreens on the other side of the parking lot around dinner time when Senor Burrito Company caught my eye. Having not had anything unique to the area yet on this trip to Houston, I figured I'd give them a try. I ordered a burrito with steak, rice, lettuce, sour cream, and queso. The burrito is huge. They didn't skimp on the meat at all as there was steak throughout the burrito. The only item I wasn't able to taste much of was the queso/cheese. When I ordered, I was asked if I wanted shredded cheese or queso and went with their recommendation of queso. I think they may have put shredded cheese in instead and it wasn't much. Still, the burrito was very good. I'm not sure what the little crunchy wagon wheel looking chips were that unexpectedly came with my burrito, but I didn't eat many because they were pretty flavorless and mostly just air.

Been on the search for Asada Fries, which seem to very difficult to find in TX. But finally stumbled on a spot that had them. Made our way in and was pleasantly surprised with how these tasted. Meat was tender (not chewy) and good portion of all other toppings. Wish there was more meat, but it wasn't bad for what it comes with. Otherwise it was a nice quiet spot. We were in on a Wednesday afternoon, so naturally it was dead. But the place was clean and staff was friendly.

Was at a nearby store and decided to try this place out for dinner. It was empty when we came in so we got a little nervous but we realized as we were checking out the menu, they had a lot of to-go orders. The cashier was very nice and made some recommendations for us. We ordered the birria ramen and the birria torta. As we waited for our food to come out we had a look around the place. From the outside it looks really small but there is actually a good amount of seating inside. They also have a cool tablet robot where you can also order your food at. Our food didnt take too long to come out and we both really enjoyed our meal. The birria is very flavorful and the ramen was cooked well. The only complaint I had was the bowl it served in is pretty flat so it did make it a little difficult to get the noodles and meat towards the end of the dish.

Esther was very nice. She took my order over the phone and was quite helpful in explaining the menu. Food: the breakfast tacos were amazing! Bacon, egg, potato and cheese were absolutely amazing. Also the beef fajita taco was great too. The hot sauces were really good too. I was very impressed with their food. The customer service is great and the food was top notch. This will definitely be in rotation. I saw them on yelp and was very happy that I stoped in and gave them a try.

Amazing food and service. I had the chilaquiles with green sauce, not too spicy at all and full of flavor. Pancakes were huge and delicious! Family owned business and the owner came out to thank us and ask how our food was. Definitely will be back.

Enjoyed the quick and friendly service here. We came by here for a quick bite and they were fast to bring our food out. I enjoyed the veggie burrito but just didn't wow me - my husband felt the same with the taco. The chicharones that came with the burrito were great! We just wanted more flavor and punch with the salsa.

The front of the restaurant. A fan of the food mentioned that they have a really good breakfast burrito.

The place is pretty empty, but the ordering was simple and easy to do. The food took a while to get done once ordered. I am excited to try their birria quesadilla. My quesadilla had way too much onion, and I ordered jalapeño in my quesabarilla and had like the smallest amount in it. Their beef was really nice in the QB, the cheese was the RIGHT cheese, really yummy! The steak and the chicken was done right in the burrito. An overall good meal!

I got the fish tacos it was so good. 10/10 would recommend. The salsas they us gave were hot and hotter lol. My daughter got the chicken quesadilla and she ate it too fast I didn't get a picture 10/10 would recommend. Husband had the surf and turf burrito 10/10 would recommend. Birria quesadilla 7/10 still would recommend. Service was great staff were friendly and very helpful in making choices!

The restaurant is pretty large with a mix of warm lighting and natural light depending on where you're sitting. It seems as though they may be renovating in certain spots of the restaurant the time we visited. Our waiter Dave was friendly, attentive, informative, and efficient. The complimentary chips and salsa were good. We took advantage of their happy hour for drinks. We each had a Cadillac margarita which was pretty good. My friend and I chose the Marisco bowl. I chose the meat combo of chicken/steak and she chose the chicken Marisco bowl. My other friend had the chicken quesadillas. The food was fresh, but in my opinion lacked flavor. I loved the prices of Gringos, but did not like my dish as much. My friends enjoyed their meals. As the night went on the restaurant became full. They have complimentary ice cream and cones for dessert that patrons get themselves. When we attempted to partake, the cones were gone and the station was messy from patrons not cleaning up after themselves. I would return to this location again and try a different dish. I would also recommend this business to others for decent happy hour drinks and food.

To be fair, it is my own fault because I tried El Mariachi a year or two ago and thought it was gross then. However, I know everywhere deserves a second chance so I thought I'd give it another try, especially when I saw it had such a high average rating. Let me first say, service is INCREDIBLE. Truly could not ask for better. The hostess was really sweet and she stayed kind even when I could tell she was overwhelmed by all the people. We had multiple servers come by to check on us at various times and do things for us and they were all great too. Absolutely 0 staff complaints. I ordered a watermelon margarita and couldn't drink it. The syrup was completely separated from the actual drink. I left it completely full and while I didn't want to complain, I was surprised that I wasn't asked if it was okay. Had I been asked, I would've told them. My husband thought his house margarita was good, but he did order it frozen and it was already half liquid by the time he got it. The food was not good. I took one bite of my beef taco and pushed it to the side. It was essentially Taco Bell meat. No shade to Taco Bell, but if I wanted that, I would've just gone to T Bell. It sure would've been a lot cheaper. My cheese enchiladas were also not good. I asked to have sour cream sauce on top & was charged $2 for it. I wasn't told I'd be charged extra and didn't see anywhere on the menu where it said that. Even so, $2 for sauce is crazy, but $2 for sauce when the enchilada ALREADY comes with sauce on top and all you had to do was replace it?? Wild. The queso was okay. Not amazing, not bad. It's the only thing I was able to eat. Not my personal experience, but two tables in our same section had issues with their food too and had to send it back. $85 for that is crazy. I'm glad so many seem to enjoy it, but El Mariachi will never see me again.

TLDR: Thar food, those ritas. This place has become my most recent go-to when that little voice says - "pssst....Dave....Dave....i know you hear me....you want fajitas." Admittedly, I hear that voice a lot. In any case, I usually order the fajitas. They give you a decent quantity that tastes great. The meet is tender and flavorful and those tortillas had me at hello. I love this stuff! My son elects to go for the cheese enchiladas. I don't have to ask him how much he likes them because is a super picky eater and this is the one place where he actually cleans his plate. The margaritas are solid as well and when you glance around the restaurant, you'll see them on most tables. This place is a well oiled machine. There are plenty of staff and they all work unison to bring drinks / chips / salsa / refills / orders / food -- and that food usually comes out before I can feel guilty for eating chips, salsa, and queso. I found this trick that works for me. Since I 100% of the time feel guilty for leaving the place feeling so full, I started parking on the other end of the parking lot. This allows my to burn off 2.7 calories of the food that just ate so I feel 2.7 percent less guilty. On a serious note - this place is the real deal. While some of my previous favorites have either closed down or gone downhill a bit - Julio's has remained strong. ¡Salud!
