Holy smokes ordered enchiladas for lunch and DANG was better than I expected!! Too bad I was working and could t sit at the actual restaurant. But my food came quick and warm and was delicious!

Tacos are delicious, the taco shop has a salsa bar with everything you need for your tacos. Thete is plenty of options on the menu not just yummy tacos. The host is very attentive. The taco shop is cozy.

We are visiting the city from central New York and have had breakfast burritos for the past 3 days. These burritos were our favorite! Very fresh and flavorful. The person working was very helpful and got bonus points from me for his attention to hand hygiene! Small place without much seating, we took ours to go and ate at our hotel's roof deck!

It was a quiet place. Store isn't that big, seats are limited. The cook was the only person there but got my food ready very quickly. He was super friendly. Food was delicious and the shop had specials on tacos plates.

$12.32 A- The Works Breakfast Burrito, probably the best breakfast burrito I've tried in downtown. Better than Roxy's but Roxy's has better salsas.

Wanted a quick lunch and decided to try something new instead of El Gordo. Cashier was nice and friendly. Small store and few seats. Prices were reasonable. 3 Rolled Tacos: $7.99 Price is good. Flavors were good overall. Salsa fresca, sour cream, guac, lettuce, cheese toppings on top of a crispy rolled taco with shredded beef. Beef flavor inside was just okay. Could be seasoned more. Freshly fried. 4/5: Would definitely recommend you to try them! First time having rolled tacos in SD and I'd order these again. Carne Asada Taco: $2.99 Price is good. Beef was seasoned, but the smoky char wasn't there for me. Tortillas were okay, but could've been better. Good toppings on the taco though. It was an okay taco, but I'd try the other ones next time. 3.5/5: I would recommend trying the others to see if they taste better. Side note: They have an every day special for 3 Tacos Carnitas or Suadero for $7.99 that I will try in the future! Overall, give them a try.

I did a takeout of the special on the window. They were great and the price was right. Great customer service.

Friendly customer service. The cook knew the menu very well. I ordered a chicken burrito. The chicken was dried as if the chicken had been overcooked or recooked a little too much. There's a salsa bar. The salsas were watered down as there was hardly any taste. The green salsa is ok. Good prices on food in comparison to other similar local spots.

We were hungry after a long, hot day. And wanted to bring back to our hotel and pool a big bag of tacos. This placed rocked it. We got about ten tacos for about 22 bucks! The fish tacos were awesome. Very fast. Delicious. The cashier was very friendly I felt like they were glad to have our business. The crispy chicken taco is the bomb. This place is small. They grill up the food in front of you. Hot in there. Cute. Stop by for a bucket of tacos.

Great spot for tacos in San Diego. Right next to the Gaslamp. Carne Asada tacos are really good.

Great spot! Very small, hole-in-the-wall. Got a shrimp burrito, very tasty- ingredients (bell pepper, onion etc) tasted very fresh.

The best California burrito in downtown SD! Place is small and can easily be missed. But the food is amazing! Go enjoy a true Cali burrito!

I picked a place off Google but when we landed there we were not comfortable stopping to park, so we looked again and decided to check out La Puerta not realizing it was in the Gaslight District. I am not a fan of the Gaslight District, which is why I am so mad!! I'm going to HAVE to go back to the Gaslight District!! The food was AMAZING!! I HIGHLY recommend the Potato Flautitas. It's the kind of dish I'm going to dream about, I'm salivating now just thinking about them. I also did the Pick 3 Street Tacos (and actually ordered a 4th). The Ranchero Shrimp and Grilled Veggie were top notch. The Conchinita was recommended by our waiter, and it was interesting, tasty but different. It could have used a little more pickled onion. The only one I would not recommend (shockingly, I thought it would be the easy pass) was the carne asada. It was too greasy. My husband ordered a carne asada quesadilla and said the same, it was too wet and soaked through the tortilla. But there were no many other delightful options, I would say just don't go traditional. But honestly my favorite thing on the plate was the side dish rajas con crema, seriously, that alone is going to drag me down to the Gaslight District. I'm even considering going to a Padres game just for the excuse. I'm salivating again! As for our waiter, Colin, he was fantastic. Very informative, made great suggestions and seemed genuinely pleased by our satisfaction. He was smiling the whole time, friendly and stayed very present. I highly recommend you get yourself through the door at La Puerta and sit down for a meal ASAP. (We ate the food so fast I forgot to take pictures.)

El Festin- perfect for our party of 4 because it was a platter full of 4 Cheese quesadilla, 4 shrimp, 4 chicken slices, 1 jalapeño bacon wrap, ribeye. Flan-we should have each ordered one ourselves! Service was excellent as well. Our waters never ran empty and after apps, they gave us new napkins to set our forks and knives down while they took our small plates away. They even offered to give us a new set of forks and knives. I think it is small details like this that make a difference. The most prominent detail I really liked about this location was the ocean view. We made a reservation for outdoor seating, and had an amazing view of the ocean and sunset. Parking was a little difficult. There's only one row for free self parking, but it is very limited. They offer $10 valet which I had to do because I could not find any parking. Overall, I enjoyed my experience here. Because this restaurant is a more high-end / upscale restaurant, I would recommend this location more for a special occasion or date night rather than a casual place to eat.
