Look how empty this place was. Food still took an hour to come out. Table next to us for got up and left after waiting 1.5hrs. And when it arrived if was nasty as hell. Even Caucasians would've even complained.

Found this place walking around. I ordered fish tacos with no pico, when my tacos came out there was pico on them. The bartender noticed quickly and ordered a second batch, he let us keep the tacos in case we wanted to eat them. Wow how generous of him! My boyfriend did eat the tacos of course. The drinks, food, and service were all amazing. I'm glad I stopped by!

My second time in San Diego in a long time and I was craving a California Burrito. This spot hit the spot with just that for $15. It's a carne asada burrito with cheddar, french fries, pico de gallo, guacamole, and sour cream. Something about not having rice and beans while not feeling super stuffed and passing gas afterwards. I also ordered a Mazcalita ($15 with a flavor) which went well with my burrito.

Loved this place for the french fries and good vibes when it was Bolt Brewery. So happy to see they have kept those two things while adding tacos and margs to the menu as Taco Loco! Stopped in for a late lunch and just missed the weekend happy hour (11-2). We ordered burritos, fries and margs. The watermelon margarita was perfectly sweet, and huge! at only $15 and 50% off for happy hour, it is well worth your money! For food, I had to make sure the french fries were the same delicious crispy fries I remembered from Bolt Brewery and they certainly passed the test! The fish burrito was delicious - definitely more of an americanized mexican food vibe with the cheddar cheese, but the ingredients tasted fresh and the fish was crispy. Service was good and fast, our server did have a mix up with one of our orders but got it fixed super quickly and ended up sending us a free taco as well! The vibes inside are great, albeit the speakers tend to be turned a bit too loud depending where you sit. With plenty of huge TVs it's a great spot to stop and watch a game, or you can sit at the window side and watch the cars and dogs pass by on India street. Can't wait to be back for a happy hour very soon, and praying this place doesn't start having a line out the door!

We saw this TACO LOCO last week when driving around for dinner at Little Italy. I know it was called BOLT BREWERY before, and I am curious to try this Taco Loco, so we went and found out it's the same owner. They just changed the name from BOLT to TACO LOCO and, of course, their menu. The first thing I noticed when looking at the Menu was that their price was still reasonable, but Im worried at first that the size portions are small. But when our order came the Price and Sizes of our food are good ones. We decided to get Burritos and I got their SURF and TURF BURITO which has a delicious sauce on it and good sizes of the meat and shrimp. My Son had the CALI BURRITO which also has a good sauce and good portion size. My wife had the BIRRIA BURRITO and she didn't like it, it has a lighter sauce and she said there's more BEANS that she can taste than the meat and she said Birria should have a stronger taste on it. Good amount of tables inside and very friendly staff . For parking good luck with it, it's not easy to find one.

Found myself a taco Loco today to try out the tacos. Let me say that I am so glad that I did. I have to grill shrimp taco, and the baja taco with beans and rice. Both tacos were delicious, but if I have to pick one, the grilled shrimp taco is my absolute favorite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The environment is very chill and relaxed with great music playing and plenty of TVs to watch any game that's on.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is very clean including the restroom.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I highly recommend. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be back as an added bonus for my wheelchair users there's plenty of accessibility. Thanks again Taco Loco

This place is a great location, first of all! You order at the bar and it's open seating. The tacos were 7/10, wish there was some salsa served with, but there was a good flavor in the carne asada and I liked the toppings on the Baja. The burrito was better, loved the Avo sauce on it & perfect sized while being well-priced. The margs were good too :) Staff seemed a little overwhelmed and it wasn't that busy, maybe still getting the hang of things! Overall, we'd come back here in a pinch and for the burritos.

I would not go out of my way to eat here, unfortunately. While the service was really friendly and quick, there are just far better places for Mexican food here. The portions also don't really match the prices ($8.00 for a fish taco and $11.00 for a bean & cheese burrito).

This place were super cool! I was there a few months ago but was very confused when trying to write this review since it was called BOLT when I went and now it's called Taco Loco. There was a gentleman and a lady working the bar that were a little overwhelmed because they were shortstaffed. Service was still good besides being a little slow and having to wait a bit for things. They did forget my son's salad but he didn't mind. He said his steak was just okay but lacked some flavor. The flights were cool and the wings were tasty. My pasta was also very delicious. Overall a good experience!

Came here for taco Tuesday and enjoyed it! Nice casual vibes - a nice change of pace from the fancier Italian restaurants in the area. They have lots of tvs so nice to watch a sports game here as well, and loved the outdoor seating that is dog friendly. The tacos were yummy - the mushroom was my favorite! The tacos could have used a little more salsa or flavoring overall but they were solid. The Paloma was also really good. Would definitely come back for a drink or quick casual bite.

We usually end up here on our way to or from the farmers market. It's a very chill spot to enjoy a quick bite, a beer or cocktail and do some people watching. The staff is always friendly, the food items always tasty, the place is clean and airy and the small bites hit the spot.

    Surf and turf taco (yum!)

Gordo's adobada can compare favorably to al pastor anywhere; however, my experience at this "Gordo" location in Gaslamp has been inconsistent compared to Chula Vista and Vegas locations, due to their higher volume. The smaller space also has less seating, which is a bummer if you are coming here on a busy comic con day. The adobada here, though, is the taco to get. Consider yourself lucky if you get a nice portion of crispy and burnt bits as they offer nice textural bites. Their sauces/salsas are also equally good, and it sets it above and beyond another taquero from Tijuana, Tacos El Franc. Don't shy away from their asada tacos either, as the meat has a nice kiss of charcoal and it's topped with a generous portion of guac. I don't love that prices have gone up to almost $5/taco; however, I'll gladly pay it if they can give me my favorite taco.

I gave up trying to get my lengua taco because I had no idea that I was supposed to receive it first before I received my fries (after paying). If my review is confusing, it's because it really was confusing during my visit here. But that's not all. There were upstairs seating available, but NO AIR WAS AVAILABLE. It was unbearable to sit in that heat and eat comfortably in that kind of environment. I felt so nauseous during and after my visit at this location. I don't even remember how my one taco tasted.. Even later, when I threw it up later that night.. Will not go back to this location, but am willing to check out other locations.

While the fish was good, it felt like a very heavy taco overall. * Surf & Turf Taco: this was loaded with steak and topped with two flavorful shrimp. The shrimp had an amazing flavor, and this taco was much more enjoyable and balanced. Overall, the service was great, the prices were very reasonable, and the protein quality was excellent. My only critique is that the tacos felt a little overdone with toppings and sauces when the quality of the protein could easily stand on its own. Still, it's a solid spot for an affordable late-night bite. One thing to note: there are no restrooms available inside the restaurant.

It's no secret that San Diego has tacos in…read morespades and being so close to the border, you'd think that a quest to find the perfect taco would be as simple as rolling down to the nearest taqueria. Except, it's not quite that simple. Many beloved staples have gone downhill, while some newer spots that might boast things like a Michelin mention or multiple locations ranging from TJ to Vegas contain more hype and gristle than tender meat and substance. Enter Chula Tacos. Chula is, and always was, the type of place that makes you forget that you're not actually in Tijuana. While part of me misses their OG Market Street location, seeing them with brick-and-mortars feels hard-earned and well-deserved. This location on Palm in IB is relatively easy to access from the freeway, but parking can be tricky. You can safely assume that it will be busy and you will either have to be very lucky or be willing to find a spot on the street. Out of all the times I've been here, it's always been crowded enough that I've never been able to find a table inside, but I enjoy sitting out on the patio next to the ahumederos. The first thing that hits you walking through the door is how amazing everything smells. The queue to the cashier takes you near a window showing the kitchen where you can see the Chula Tacos team making fresh tortillas, slicing meat from the trompos, grilling up jalapenos, nopales, onions, labio, and tripa. For me, it's not so much a challenge to decide what I want, it's more a challenge to keep myself from ordering everything. My usual is four tacos: two asada, two al pastor (but I've heard that I should also try their world famous keka). The tacos though? Perfection. Every time, the asada is the juiciest and most tender I've ever eaten, the al pastor is succulent and flavorful, and no taco in front of me is long for the world. At $3.50 each, every one of them is absolutely loaded. Three would honestly fill me up, but I always want four. After getting burned by spots that ask around 75% more and deliver anywhere between 25-50% less, Chula Tacos feels like an absolute godsend of a Tijuana-style taqueria and I can't see any other contenders being my go-to. So, when I say "Tacos will fix me," what I mean nowadays is "Chula Tacos will fix me."
