Well, this was my first time ever going to a Korean barbecue place. We were in the area and we decided to go in for lunch. It was $20.99 for adults and 10.99 for kids. My husband loves watching YouTube videos of these places so we were happy to go in on a weekday for a good lunch. I would say that by the end of our meal, the bbq grill was nice and hot. I should've used the kitchen sheers to cut the chicken into smaller pieces because it did take a long time for it to cook through. I can imagine on the weekends or at dinner. It gets loud in here. Our waitress told us about the butter, but I forgot that we needed to put the butter down to help it not stick. The sauce bar was very cool. We were too full to eat the free dessert. Well, not free dessert the dessert that was included and they even have a soft serve ice cream. My son did make a big bowl of fruit up. read more

Seoul has been an absolutely delicious experience both times I've visited. Ive gone with the Dinner BBQ option on both occasions. The Dinner Menu is more expanded (and more expensive by $10) than the Lunch Menu and has the standout best meat in my opinion: Seoul Short Rib. Mouth watering. I also think you get more for your money with the BBQ option... soup makes you full faster and doesn't allow you to get the meat or veggies crispy like with BBQ. I recommend that if it's your first time here, to pick either BBQ or Hotpot as the menus can be overwhelming. Alongside being able to order as much meat and veggies as you want with your selection (All You Can Eat), they also have a "Sauce Bar" and a "Dessert Bar" that are also AYCE. The Sauce Bar has sushi rolls, kimchi, many spicy pickled veggies, and a bunch of savory sauces. The Dessert Bar has fruit, cakes, and soft serve ice cream. Everytime I've gone I've utilized both! Now for my favorite BBQ and sauce/dessert bar items after going twice. Best Meats: Seoul Short Rib (must try), Spicy Beef Bulgogi (also must try), Angus Chuck. Just OK Meats: Scallops, Brisket, Pork Belly. Best Veggies: Eggplant, Zucchini, Onion, Pepper. Best Appetizer: Seaweed Pancake. Best Side: Rice. Best Sauce Bar Items: Any Sushi, Kimchi, Pickled Cucumber, Seaweed Salad, Scallion, Garlic, Gochujang Sauce. Best Dessert Bar Items: Berry Cheesecake slice, Mocha Cake (like tiramisu), Swirl Soft Serve Ice Cream (yum, mix them all together!). My favorite mix of ingredients is the Seoul Short Rib + Spicy Beef Bulgogi + veggies + white rice + gochujang sauce + kimchi + pickled cucumber... tastes like bibimbap! The meat is good enough to eat on its own however! The service here is great and although I saw other reviews stating their items took a while to come and that the service wasn't good, I think this might've been only an issue when they first opened. On both occasions I got my meats and veggies very quickly (couple minutes), and my server was very helpful with recommendations. The vibe of the inside is cute as well. No complaints. I highly recommend giving this a try, the addition of the Dessert Bar as well makes this such a good well rounded dinner or date option. I will be coming back again! read more

I've been to several AYCE Korean BBQ and hot pot restaurants and Seoul is just another in a long line of average options. To me, the star of any Korean BBQ dinner menu the kalbi or short rib. The cut offered at AYCE is too fatty and this one is no different. Prime brisket was decent, but portions are small. The sauce bar is a little lacking compared to a regional competitor and the Korean bean paste a bit dark and dried out. 4The kimchi barely passes as kimchi. I suspect it was watered down to fit a non-Korean palette, but it falls very short. I do like to put some kimchi on the grill to pair with my pork belly (or pork cheek). This manifestation of kimchi was passable when grilled, but the flavor was off. The sushi bar is intended to fill your belly. The are five or so varieties of rolls including California, shrimp tempura, Philly, etc. There is far too much rice rolled into each maki. Eat too much sushi and you'll have to pass on the main show. Still, Seoul appears to be very popular. You might like it to, but IFKYK. read more

Hot pot is always fun and Seoul KBBQ & Hot Pot is a nice environment for a social meal. Hot Pot is always a little pricey and Seoul was very reasonably priced for hot pot. I appreciated that we each got to have our own pot and broth as opposed to one shared pot. All of the items we ordered were tasty. The only part that could be better is their dessert bar which wasn't very compelling. We are a big dessert family and we left without taking anything. I love Korean food so anytime I can find a good Korean BBQ restaurant, I'm all over it! It was a good location, right outside of Philly in a not too busy shopping center. The restaurant is super spacious and well-kept! There's an area where you can choose all your dips, sides, and even dessert! They offer you all you can eat Korean BBQ or hot pot, or both! But we opted for the BBQ! We ordered 4 beef dishes and about 5 different banchan to go with it! The cuts of meat were delicious and tender! The one negative thing that I completely agree with other reviewers about is that the hot pot cuts of meat are not the best quality. Aside from that I had a great time here. It is clean, spacious and we had great service. I got the healthy herb hot pot base and thought it was pretty good, and my husband liked his tom yum base. If you're concerned about flavor just walk on over to their large sauce bar and load your soup up! They have a lot of barbecue offerings as well, and their beef bulgogi and garlic peppercorn pork belly were very delicious. Having done the two-for-one dinner of both hot pot and barbecue, I actually think you should commit to one or the other for your visit since there is just so much to try. Four of us tried Seoul for dinner. We all used the grill (not the hot pot). One person was a pescatarian - they had the salmon, edamame, rice and broccoli and they thoroughly enjoyed it. The rest of us tried beef and pork options - the beef bulgogi, brisket, pork belly and short rib were the hits and the spicy pork bulgogi and ribeye the least favorite. Service was friendly and attentive and gave us some 'pro tips' along the way (like cook the salmon first). Price was appropriate. Parking was ample but it's done in a large shopping area lot. We keep trying different KBBQ places in the area to see if we like any of them better than going to what used to be the Korea Grill House in Upper Darby (now called Pocha Street which is hard for me to remember). While Seoul Korean BBQ and Hot Pot is AYCE and the portions are generous, and the kids like being able to make their own sauces and help themselves to more kim chi, overall we've agreed that it's best to go places that just focus on Korean BBQ instead of the ones that try to do both. Really enjoyed coming here for lunch on a week day! There weren't too many people then, I was pleasantly surprised that I didn't smell like BBQ afterwards and that the music wasn't too loud where you couldn't hear each other (I'm comparing to Korean BBQ places I've been to in ATL). No kalbi but plenty of options for meat, especially loved the pork belly and seasoned meats. Service was great-- normally they give little packs of butter for the grill but we asked for olive oil and they gave us a spray bottle for it, we also asked for frequent switching of the grill because things were getting burnt. They don't grill or serve the food for you like some places I've been to but that's fine with me. I really like how spacious this place is and the boot seating. Pretty standard with all places like this is a surcharge if you have too much food leftover, and that the whole table needs to select the same thing (hotpot, BBQ, or both). As a parent I appreciate that kids under 4 are free, will definitely be back! read more

Somewhere between 3-4 stars. I personally didn't have much complaints regarding the food but others in my party were left unsatisfied with the flavor and quality of certain meats. Soup bases were not our favorites, we have had better, we especially do not recommend the kimchi base. The Szechuan spicy is less spicy than Szechuan peppercorn if anyone wonders. I liked my Szechuan spicy broth because it wasn't unbearably spicy. Pluses are that the grills are cast iron and pre-oiled when it comes to the table. Theres a soft serve machine, brownies, fruits for dessert. The interior is pretty. I went opening day so I won't knock them too much for service, they're learning. The biggest table I saw was for 6, then there's 4 and 2. Overall I think it's good for the price, if it's what's most convenient for you it's worth going. read more

Soap, our host/ waiter was very informative on how we were to proceed. It was our first time. The 4 of us ordered our food from the bar b q menu. When it came, it was a bit overwhelming. Seemed like so much & WE had to cook it. The meat/ fish portions we big. The side & veggie portions were small, but you only need to ask for more. The food was very tasty & there were numerous sauces to choose from if desired. Okay, dessert time. Large variety to choose from including bite size cakes, brownies, various flavors of cheese cake, various fruit and soft serve ice cream. Whew, we're full. Service was nonexistent, front staff and the wait staff never greets you at all. To me, they don't seem to like to working there. Always have to ask for our food twice, or the food we orders never arrived. You would think the marked everything down on the iPad that you will get the correct food. The meat came in very small portions and it's subpar. Inside is pretty nice but the floor is slippery when there's water on the tile floors. Service was horrible, let me start y saying it started off bad when you walk in you have to check in on an iPad and per the iPad. Our weight was 40 to 60 minutes long. We waited and waited an hour and a half to get our table. When we got a table we sat at the very end. Our server Vincent never brought our drink till we finished our meal which my the way was incomplete, our soup was supposed to include noodles we never got that. The lobster came as the last dish, pretty much the worst experience I have had in a long time, I don't know if our server just didn't add the food in to the kitchen or if it was the kitchens fault. This was my favorite hot pot place when they first opened but they have made changes to the sauce bar that make me gag. They need to return to having a proper sneeze guard fully across the bar. the individual compartments that slide open are unsanitary. I seen hair in them on multiple occassions and i cant imagine how much germs gets into those compartments from people standing over the sauce bar talking with no sneeze guard. I loved this place and travel 30 minutes to eat here, i hope they return to having sanitary conditions so that i may continue visiting. read more

Parking was extremely convenient, which made the whole experience stress-free from the start. The food selection was also very diverse, with plenty of options to choose from for different tastes. This place is an absolute joke. The meat quality is poor, the portion sizes are pitiful (4 slices of brisket per order? you guys are trolling, right?), and the service is GOD AWFUL. Multiple times we had to ask for our orders, and multiple times they missed things. This is the most disorganized restaurant I've ever eaten at, and this is after their grand opening. This is soft opening first weekend operating type of nonsense, not post grand opening. My father in law is an extremely patient and laid back man, and even he was getting pissed off. If you manage to anger that man you definitely screwed up. On top of that I am pretty sure it was our server's first day. He didn't know what kind of steak the Seoul Steak was, and he didn't know how long certain items should be cooked...one of which was seafood. I'm sorry but isn't that your job?? I just got back from lunch here. I ordered the hot pot and bbq lunch combo. The variety of foods is amazing. The service by Lyn was absolutely fantastic. so today's Friday and I was the only person in the restaurant other than employees. I'm sure that's a contributing factor as to why the service was so perfect. The lighting is very nice. The restaurant played some upbeat music that was not too loud. I was there for two hours and must say that the restaurant would be a perfect place for a date or family gathering. Cooking food together, draws family and friends together. I left extremely full. I will absolutely be returning to this restaurant in just the coming weeks. The food appeared very fresh. There is something on the menu for everyone. my Tom Yum soup face was a bit spicy but trust me that's not a complaint. Next time, I will probably try the Herb base.
