Ordered Shrimp Fried Rice and Grilled Mackerel. In the Fried Rice there was a curly long black hair fried into rice and shrimp. I videoed pulling the hair out of the rice and presented the video to the restaurant owner the following day as it was late that night. The owner asked why did you not call last night as if I was trying to pull something off . I informed her politely it was late. The male owner in the kitchen said he will cook another dish of shrimp fried rice. after completed he had his waitress bring out the rice in a open container for me to inspect. Instead of a I am sorry we hope this will make things right It was a inspect food and leave. looking into the kitchen no one is equipped with hair nets and or sanitary gloves. Second time here and another wonderful meal! Last time we had short ribs and beef bulgogi which were really good. This time tried the seafood pancake, soft tofu soup, and also got the beef bulgogi again. Will definitely be back!! read more

I really enjoyed our visit! We visited the second day after they opened and first of all, they gave some love to the building! Since purchasing they did some renovations and brightened up the place. It looks way better and I'm happy they gave the building some TLC. The food was delish; the kimchi pancake was excellent, the banchan (side dishes) were fresh and they kept offering refills, the kimchi jjigae (stew) was spicy and filled with delicious beef, and the bibimbap was perfect. I will definitely be back; this is the probably my new favorite Korean restaurant. read more

First of all, I rarely give a 5 stars. But, I am giving this business a 5 because #1 the owners are very nice. The ahjumma is very welcoming and super nice to my kids. Her daughter is the same as well. #2 The food is super good to my taste. I just hope they have more selections next time. Their side dishes is a lot and they give you more if you want more! This place is such a gem! Plenty of tasty banchan with rice. We ordered the 4-5 person combo option with beef bulgogi, seafood pancake, mackerel, soup, and spicy squid. We had dinner at Seoul Garden on our way back from the airport to Olympia and have made it a tradition, if time allows, to stop off at a new Korean restaurant on the way back home. I'm always at a loss at Korean restaurants because I have only ordered the basic Korean BBQ options. It's generally the best option and I don't go to enough Korean restaurants to actually get tired of Korean BBQ. This time around we strayed away from the Korean BBQ option and got their sampler platter. We figured they would give us some of their better items on the menu and we were not disappointed. If I'm ever in a new restaurant, I have to stop myself from asking the waiter for the best thing on the menu. They will usually say that everything is good. That doesn't help me. I think their response is their way of telling me to stop asking stupid questions and give them my order. The sampler platter was my way of getting around the question. It included, yes, Korean BBQ, whole fish, spicy soup, and a noodle dish. They were all delicious and we're looking forward to going back. read more

This is one of the best Korean restaurants I have ever been to. Ample parking, family feel, and absolutely delicious food. We always get the short ribs, spicy pork, and spicy tofu soup, and then pick an appetizer, sounds like a lot of food, and it is, but we crush it every time because it is so delicious. Service is fantastic, the female waitress remembered us the last time we dined in and made us feel like regulars which was a really nice touch and the two younger male waiters are super attentive and refill the banchan without prompting. infinity out of infinity stars. Don't hesitate to stop by this wonderful restaurant if you are craving Korean food. The quality is excellent and the quantity is generous. This place will be my go to spot and I think you will feel the same after you give it a shot. That said, service is just as great as the food. We were given regular refills of side dishes, rice, and hot corn tea (it's good, try it) and quite honestly, I felt like I was at my grandma's house. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the background music is just right. Thank me with a positive notification for my review. I think you'll be more than satisfied! I had eaten their food two years ago, that my sister picked up on her way to my house, and it was delish. so when I told her we were taking the parents for moms birthday she got upset stating the resturant was not where I should take her. I didn't know what she was talking about, so I grabbed my purse and headed to Lacey from Rochester to see what her problem was. I arrived to find a really clean and newly renovated resturant with the most delish smell eminating from the kitchen. I wasn't sure why my sis objected so much, I shared my conversation with the staff and she informed me that they bought the business from previous owner and renovated the building....awesome. I sent pics to my sister...as I waited for my food, I had a spicey beef soup which was delish. she couldn't believe it was the same place. one week later we were sitting and ordering all kinds of dishes, each was delish, my dad fell into the bulgogi was perfect, the grilled mackerel, short ribs tender and gooey, lol, and my moms favorite jap chae was fantastic, and all the side dishes were awesome. the wait staff attentive and friendly making sure we had a great experience...thank you to all of you for making my moms birthday special. see all of you again soon. read more

Great soup! I ate the tofu spicy soup (comes with seafood but I asked to omit ... It's mussels and shrimp) Soup was spicy and flavorful. The tofu was soft and had an egg like consistency. Hands down the best Korean fare in the South Sound region (Lacey, Olympia, Tumwater). Must've eaten here 100 times over the years which tells you how long they've been at it. I've taken many groups of Asian international students (Koreans, Japanese, Chinese) here over the years I taught at the nearby university and everyone is always pleased. The folks at Seoul have owned this restaurant since the 1970s. The building is very funky and old, part of it is an old log structure with a cleaners on the other side. Don't be put off by how it looks outside or inside - the owners do a great job and are always friendly and the food is delish! read more

I love this restaurant. It's my go to Korean place south of Seattle. However, tonight I walked in, asked for a table, and then misgendered twice within a few seconds by two different people. I just turned around and left. I hadn't even sat down. Not sure if or when I would come back, without giving those that work there a clear understanding that I am no man. I hope they read this review and decide to stop calling folks sir and ma'am and assume something they can't know without asking. Our first time here after not locating any restaurants with seating, and wow, so glad we use Yelp! What a diamond! Clean, courteous staff, interesting menu with vegetarian options ( although not many ). I had (and recommend) the spicy tofu stew. While already spicy, for those who dare, tell them to make it really spicy. I like spicy food that makes my sinuses open and my eyes tear, and this did just that. John had beef bulgogi, while not as spicy, was delicious and quite the generous portion. It was done exceptionally well. We were served six dishes prior to our meal, kimchi, spicy cucumbers, fish cake, potatos, bean sprouts and spinach. Exceptionally tasty! read more

Pretty disappointing. Don't know if we just ordered on a wrong day but I ordered the beef bibimbap and there was no flavoring whatsoever. Gave us a side of sauce that barely covered it. There was maybe 10 little pieces of beef. My husband ordered the spicy bulgogi which was good but the sides had no flavoring! I've never been to a Korean restaurants where there was no flavoring to the sides. I'm just thankful he ordered the spicy bulgogi because I was able to share it. My dish was like a basic salad with no dressing. Had high hopes with this place but unfortunately we won't be back. read more

I don't care how good their food is. They gave me the shit-est service I've ever experience in a while. I went in with 4 other girls. 2 of them wanted to share the dish so they ordered combo that comes with one soup and one main entree and wanted to order an extra bowl of rice. As this old lady (with that ugly perm) approached us to take orders, she abruptly told us to be quiet. If she asked us nicely then yeah, it's no problem. But the way she asked us in Korean... I could feel the bad vibe she was giving. And then she told us that it's going to cost extra 5 dollars to order the extra bowl of rice. (da fuq...? what kind of restaurant does this?) My friends didn't wanna pay much so they just ordered the combo which already was like 17 dollars. The same lady brought the food out, she was being extra rude and put our dishes onto our table very loudly. I have no clue if she is mad at the fact that my friends were sharing a dish together or if that is her normal personality, but this lady has an attitude problem. I don't know how or why she is doing the business if she has no fundamental understanding of what customer service is. And the food? It wasn't even that great. My soondoboo soup was just plain and that combo my friends ordered... was so small, it really wasn't worth the price. I was hoping that at least the food is good to compensate the shitty service I was experiencing, but NOPE. So yeah, I would never come back to this restaurant ever again unless you wanna get pissed off by a random lady when you are trying to have a good time. Avoid this place. read more

We have been here a few times. But the last time we were there, just about every dish had too much sugar in it. This has never happened on any other visit. The Deokbokki, Japchae and even the Pajori had a "great" deal of sugar in them. These dishes were SWEET?! It made them practically inedible. read more
