The best local Korean food spot around! Been to plenty around this area and I always go back to this one. Been going here for years now and the food is always fresh and flavored just right. Although the building is small, it's a good comfort spot that truly makes you feel at home. The waitresses and the overall service is superb. They know how to treat their customers right and into coming back. My family and I recently came here on the 14th of July to celebrate my moms birthday and we ran out of the kimchi side dish. So my sister asked for a refill. And since we arrived during their lunch special, the side dishes aren't refillable. The waitress responded with that, BUT came back and refilled the kimchi anyway!!! The first time we went to Seoul Garden restaurant since it took over Seoul Restaurant management, we were impressed much like some of the reviews here. The second time a few weeks after, we weren't. I suppose it was a younger, different chef the second time around. Even the rice tasted different, not exactly the right texture. The Korean pancake was not as toasty, and a bit more greasy. The beef bulgogi was sweet and the chicken bulgogi was more like chicken tempura, both could have been a bit less greasy. So we concluded it's hit or miss depending who was cooking that day. Hopefully if we went again, we would have luck to have the chef from the first time. read more

I also got the clear noodle because I can't resist them any time I'm at a true Korean restaurant such as this one. Please don't confuse this place with those all-to-common Teriyaki shops which infest all parts of Western Washington. This place is a true Korean Restaurant. One of the markings of a true Korean Restaurant are the dishes, no Teriyaki, no hamburgers, but, here it comes, they serve you Korean side dishes like 10-12 of them. As I write this I'm grinning ear-to-ear! My belly is stuffed with fresh marinated soybean sprouts, Kim Chee, Kim chee radish, pickled daikon, fried squid, picked broccoli with carrot, and sesame baby potatoes, and rice. They have all of the Korean soups. I'm so stuffed yet I'm still thinking about what I'll try next time I come. Every bite and morsel of kalbi, and sip of hot brown tea is hitting me with that level of satisfaction of feeling "Damn. I got what I was anticipating and well beyond what I paid for. Plain and simple, I am Happy, full, and satisfied. I recommend you come here and try and then Yelp your experience. You won't be disappointed. This place is divey. It's basic. However, the food is exceptional and affordable. My meal on my first visit could have fed 3 people easily or 1 Hawaiian. Just saying. Another thing about this place I like, NO ASIAN FUSION BS. Just really Real Korean food. So many places try to create or cook what they think is Asian Fusion which much of the time falls flat, because they probably most likely can't cook their own ethnic foods correctly. All the soup dishes are so flavourful and the side dishes are just out of this world...we would just drive from Vancouver, BC to this restaurant just for dinner!! Our 1st time here and trying Korean food. Someone told us of this place so it was recommended by them. My first impression was it appears to be family owned. The female employee was super friendly. Wasnt too busy but got a feeling that this is a local place and regulars are here often. We were first served with an assortment of nibbles. Kim-chi, bean sprouts, potato, noodle, apple veggie mix, etc. Each pickled or seasoned in a different sauce. Fun to find out what we liked the most. Our lunch we stayed with something basic and didn't venture too far into the extreme. We played it safe. The wife ordered the Korean bbq rib lunch. I picked the sliced beef which had some onion with it. Looked similar to Mongolian beef but different taste and the beef was very tender. Tasted great with a little bit of rice that came with the plate. We had enough food. Perfect sizing. I tried the Hite beer, served ice cold and with a small glass that was chilled. I was expecting to eat at the old Seoul restaurant, which has been a family favorite but we haven't gone there for months due to illness. Its under different ownership now. I was pleased with the update done on the interiors, so much brighter and more modern-looking. I was a little disappointed with the limited selection on menu. They're also on the pricier side. We ordered the LA Kalbi and the Tteokbokki. Food was fresh and delicious. I liked their banchans too, but they only had limited variety because we ate later in the evening. The servers (I think they're siblings) are very fast, polite and attentive. We will be back to try their other menu items. read more

The picture makes it look way better than it actually was. So. BLAND. Ugh. I had to add tons of salt and soy sauce to make it taste like anything. And they only give you two or three side dishes of banchan if you're dining alone (as opposed to 6 or 7 if you have more than one person). Holy smokes! Literally...the food at this place was great but they need some more ventilation/fans in here. You would think you are walking into a Asian karoake bar with smoke for added ambiance. Banchan! Wow it was just me and another person and they brought out about 10 small side dishes. Extremely generous! I got the U Geo Ji Kal Bi Tang. The broth was very good, a little spicy though and it is not marked with a chili pepper on the menu. Generous portion of short ribs in the bowl. The potato casserole is some of the best around as are the bbq dishes. The flavors are authentic and you can taste the difference. I ordered the Spicy Beef Bulgogi, and it was hitting all the right places. The texture of the meat was perfectly balanced in chewiness. The flavor was really busting all inside my mouth. I could taste the richness of the sauce that it was cooked in. Along side with the Bulgogi, I ordered the Tofu Soup with beef. The soup was amazing but I have had better. The soup was lacking the richness, that I usually get when I order this dish at other restaurants. The side dishes were magnificent. My favorites are the kimchi, fermented cucumbers , and the fish cakes. Overall, the restaurant was a strong 4 stars. This is a fairly new restaurant, so they are still trying to get up on their feet. When I visit my parents down in Olympia, this is one of the few places we dine at. I personally think this is the best Korean restaurant in Olympia. My parents and I usually order jap chae, kalbi and bulgogi. I also like their bibimbop as well. However what my favorite part of dining here is their banchan (side dishes). Although I enjoy all the banchan they serve, my favorites have to be the sweet soy sauce potatoes and the "angel noodles" which are seaweed jelly noodles with a sweet mayonnaise sauce. Also, this is the ONLY korean restaurant I've found so far in WA that serves the angel noodle banchan. read more

They put tofu instead of beef per my request. The egg was cooked perfectly and the yolk was runny and just filled the dish with golden creaminess! Too bad they don't have brown rice:( if they did I would rate this 6 stars! The bibimbob was so filling and hearty! Perfect for a cold and wet Olympia weather! The banchan! Oh wow! There was a lot! I had the chicken with sweet and sour sauce because I wasn't quite ready to venture out into the unknown. It was REALLY good! I also loved the little appetizers they bring out to the table. Authentic Korean food found here! This little gem is in the middle of Lacey and who knew it would be home to genuine KBBQ and tofu soups. I got the meat bibimbap and it was served in a sizzling hot stone pot. I would recommend that you get the egg separate so you can crack it into the pot and stir it yourself. I wish it had more sauce because it was a little bland. We also got the seafood tofu soup and a spicy pork dish with rice. That was delicious and seasoned just right. Well, it's smokey when you walk in and smokey when you leave...oh, and you'll probably smell like this place long after you've gone. This is not one of those fancy joints, but I enjoy the food here and the prices are decent, especially the lunch boxes. If you want something and you aren't quite sure how of to ask for it, they'll actually give you a menu and ask you to point out a picture of what it may look like...hey, works for me. I've never seen more than two people working here and one is usually doing the cooking, but the service is still pretty good. Coming back from South Korea, I was there a year, I was extremely excited to try what looked like a hole in the wall, authentic Korean restaurant. I was greatly surprised by the lack of flavor. I got bulgogi and my husband got clear noodle dish (19). The dishes were gorgeous and looked very appetizing. They overcharge for what you're presented with, in my opinion. They were terribly rude, mistreated my mother and forcibly slammed her plate down in front of her. And I told the waiter she just asked me to change or not use and she did not apologize to me immediately and I felt she did not respect us. Only when I charge her to apologize but I feel unreal. Love this little place. It is truly a hidden gem that you need to find in Lacey. Went here with a group of friends and we were sat very quickly with a bright smile and great customer service.
